@@james2614mc well I was going to say that your wrong and 200bhp is plenty if the car is light enough, presuming a bravo would perhaps be 1200 kg or something but in actual fact its 1360kg kerb weight so I think in this case actually your pretty accurate 😂
Roof noises on a cabrio: There's lots of moving parts and joints, you need to keep them as clean as possible. You have the rubber seals and the metal mechanism. The seals need to be clean and soft to provide regular dampening. Pivot and clamping points on the mechanism need to be lubricated or greesed to reduce the deeper rattling noises caused by irregular road surfaces.
Dunno about this under £1k, although these are pretty impressive cars for £2k, but I reckon you'll have to do an equivalent series for flashy cars that aren't actually very quick. I have always really badly wanted a fast Volvo...I keep looking at the V60 Polestar but interiors are still a huge issue for me and the one in the V60 is awful. This entire list is good though, I actually like these more than most of the £5k list! Having owned a ridiculous sleeper in the GS and now a car that's stupid fast but people seem to think it's 10x faster...it's a very hard call. As an overall car I'll still genuinely take that GS over possibly anything at any price, but in general it's hard to beat something flashy. Being able to disappear down the road is great, but getting loads of people shouting "nice car" and stuff never gets old. You could also do a "most sleeper-y" cars vid, without worrying too much about price. It took me a while to realise that there's a 300hp AWD version of the Pug 3008. Embarrassing Type Rs in that might even change my answer above to prefer sleepers 😆 I can almost forgive it being an SUV, but not quite.
😎 Bravo, bravo good bro - You featured the SAAB 9-3..but what about the 1st gen? I had a 1st gen 2002 9-3 SE Aero that was a rocket ship with "enthusiast" handling meaning SAAB made their cars appeal to those who liked driving, hence torque steer an you could feel the wheels doing stuff...FYI you look like a composite of Prince and Finlay Quaye
Hey man, do a best car for the money sub 7 seconds to 60 and under around 10k or so, with good interior, good run ability, good everyday and fuel economy, when I was looking around I went with the fiesta st180 and it’s perfect but what other cars match this criteria?
If I had to choose between my MX5, which is lowered on coilovers and has some lovely fat, deep dish wheels, or a standard looking MX5 that has a supercharger bolted on, I'd choose my slow and low beauty.
First time watching one of your videos. I have a DS3 Racing, and it's not even close to your budget, nor will it ever be unless you find a rotten, thrashed one, but it is the one to have (even more so than the Performance). It's also much faster (207hp, 6.5 to 62), and both lower and wider. Quick note though. Slow down when talking. I understand you, but it's just too fast, particularly at the intro part of the video.
*Just an itsy bitsy detail...* _Most of these cars could/can be a nightmare when it comes to repairs..._ Hence why most are quickly disappearing from the market.
Volvos are not unusual as in high miles, there are plenty that have done 500k miles, with little or no trouble with the engine, regular maintenance is the key.
I managed to get hold of a b7 s line 3.0 tdi quattro for 2.5k. So much torque, and enough creature comforts including an amazing sound system. Absolute badass sleeper
My remapped Mercedes W220 3.2 CDI is a real sleeper, sub 7 seconds to 60. As was the Audi S8 that I rebadged to look like a standard 2.8. I had a lot of fun with that and boy racers! 😂 😂 😂
Not a cam belt. It’s a chain and they can stretch. If the oil is changed regularly they should be ok. Had one for over 5 years and it’s been superb and still on same chain at 147000 miles.
Loved this JB vid, as I always do. Might sound cheesy but for me the thing I most want in a car is personality. I parked Burt (my mk2 MX5) up for the winter and am now on my 5th winter car since October. It's driving my wife insane! I buy a car thinking I'll fall in love with it like I did with Burt, but the honeymoon period ends almost immediately. Closest I got was with Nigel, a 1994 Volvo 940, but the fuel bill was gonna bankrupt me 😔 I'm currently in a 2004 Passat Highline estate and we're nearing 2nd base (I've bought him some coilies and new wheels but haven't fitted the coilies yet as I'm considering cheating with Jag XJ 😬). Keep the great videos coming JB. Brings a little joy to a merciless world 👍
