    The story behind the linsanity is amazing. He was on his last 10 days contract, living on his friends couch. This was gonna be his last chance to prove he is capable of playing in the NBA. There's a documentary on his career, really inspiring. I have nothing but respect for this man and always will.

      @@prepaidtrash5552 not everyone in the nba makes millions a year. Lin had ten days to prove himself to the NBA or else he’d be cut from his team, so he got up and started playing his ass off. I don’t see how that isn’t inspirational, he was an overlooked bench player who wanted it more than anything else in the world.

      @Questions Yeah, the worst bench players who ride the bench all year. Lin wasnt even a bench player then, he got a 10 day contract. A 10 day contract is 50k to 130k depending on the experience of the player. Since its a young Lin, its probably on the lower end. Don't get me wrong, 50k for 10 days is great money, but you cant live off that. Especially in NYC or The Bay Area where hes from.

      Yeah. I don't know if anyone saw, but when Jeremy Lin was playing for the Warriors, every time he took the floor, the fans stood up, cheered and clapped. He was the first Asian American born to be playing on that level, while other players were from China, Japan or Korea. That set history, but the sad part was the NBA as an organization decided to ghost him out afterwards. He played more minutes for the CBA (China's Pros) and P-League(Taiwan's pros).

Next month his team plays the New Taipei King, which his younger brother, Joseph, plays for. I had no idea he had a brother who plays pro ball. He looked good. He's 34 now. To be fair (unfair?), there's as Asian bias in all American sports.
      Even in Baseball which is 10-20% Asian dominated, (a guess percentage; it's probably alot lower than 20%) there is Asian bias. Asia's biggest (international) sport is baseball and Asian youths play the shizz outta Baseball. Nearly all (if not all) MLB teams have an Asian in the roster.
      To be fairly unfair, (again) most Asian baseball players are more contact hitters oriented where in America, we're more focused Power hitters. That's part of the reason why.

In fact, Asian Americans were all alienated and considered outsiders or even animals. The USA never had the representation that it claims since they cannot even give basic human rights to Asians or other people of color. The USA always been a joke, and it will forever become a joke around the world. The fact that some people of color think they are American makes the whole thing even more funny because they are so whitewashed.

    jared jeffries raved about lin, tyson chander loved him, landry fields was made better by Lin, and Amare was rooting him on and getting good feeds from lin too. Melo ruined it all and Amare even stated that (without officially saying melo's name) what a shame. if we didnt make that trade for melo we woulda had all those assets plus mayb Lin couldve been pivotal off the bench and the garden would be buzzing and who knows what talent we coulda added with the money we woulda saved with only one max player. sigh...

    • @sbabar87
      @sbabar87 8 лет назад +4

      +dewy13newgen stop dude. Melo could have came as a free agent but gutted the entire Knick core because he wanted Bird rights and the extra 30 million. He's saying all the right things now but if he REALLLLY wanted to do best for the knicks he woulda A) waited till free agency the first time B) when he re-signed take less than Max. There have been articles upon articles where Melo has his tech company in NY and business aspirations in NY. Also, while i do dislike melo as a franchise player, he is a decent human being and wants to keep his family in NY where his kids go to school. But melo wants the spotlight and to continue his business ventures.
      I was hoping that all the losing would cause him to get out, but again the knicks can pay melo the most and his family is here. Kobe was even asked (when melo played streetball with Kevin Love and Kobe in LA) why melo didnt become a laker, and Kobe responded "there were 30 million reasons why". Not to mention that stupid documentary about how he almost became a bull.
      Lin has always had to work extra hard to gain respect, hes tearing it up with charlotte and will continue to be a fan of his. its just sad because D'antoni and coaches gave him a chance and it woulda been nice to see him to continue to develop as a knick. melo had to squash it (Amare's words and general buzz have indicated that which both have more merit then your opinion no offense). Yes, felton was a part of the trade. But remember that year he and amare had that pick and roll going? Felton was almost an All star! Even if lin came on board, if melo wasnt there...amare who was ruined by melo as we all know would have prospered and felton would have too. That'd be a good problem to have where if felton and amares pick and roll left Lin on the bench then lin coulda made the 2nd unit more prolific. And not too mention all the extra cap space and assets (mozgov got 2 first round picks, i could only imagine what an all rookie player like landry fields, a defensive stopper and 15 ppg scorer in wilson chandler could gotten).
      I dont want to take kudos, cuz lord knows ive been wrong about other things in sports..but i said that when the knicks traded for melo in 2011-2012, itd set the franchise back at least 5 years because u cant build around a one dimensional player who eats up 1/4 of the cap. James Harden, who i think is more talented in that he can distribute the ball better, kinda falls into the same category.

    Watching these highlights makes me happy. Im a Warrior fan but I liked seeing him succeed as a Bay Area kid and former Warrior. Seems like a nice guy. Best of luck in the future Jeremy!
