@Questions Yeah, the worst bench players who ride the bench all year. Lin wasnt even a bench player then, he got a 10 day contract. A 10 day contract is 50k to 130k depending on the experience of the player. Since its a young Lin, its probably on the lower end. Don't get me wrong, 50k for 10 days is great money, but you cant live off that. Especially in NYC or The Bay Area where hes from.
Yeah. I don't know if anyone saw, but when Jeremy Lin was playing for the Warriors, every time he took the floor, the fans stood up, cheered and clapped. He was the first Asian American born to be playing on that level, while other players were from China, Japan or Korea. Leo Vunidilo he was in this vid when he was on the warriors, before he blew up: ruclips.net/video/GTmhwHRQ1ow/видео.html you sound stupid as shit now lol
Because not all the players can adapt to his agressive play style. Even the coaches don't know how much potential he can make on the court. Doesn't he just let things flow?
That's his game. That is what makes him good. Plenty of players attack the rim a lot like derrick rose and Russel westbrook. The only difference is he isn't as explosive as them. In New York he earned many double double so he can pass to but all the coaches want him to do is attack the rim.
But why did I cry watching this???? Such an epic throwback for every New Yorker, Asian, basketball fan 🏀 & little guy who no one believes in. Still have my Linsanity #17 shirt. Proud New Yorker. We'll never forget that time he was there.
As a Mavericks fan, i would love to have him on our team, even if we didn't necessarily "need" him. I love his passion and experience and he deserves to play alongside someone great again like Luka.
It was really heartbreaking to see Jeremy Lin cried in a sharing in Taiwan several months ago when he mentioned that he was not signed by any NBA team. He is really a good basketball player!
It almost brings tears to my eyes watching this I remember being a kid waiting for the knicks game to come on and watching with my dad very exciting to watch this team
Seeing Tyson Chandler full of energy in 2012 reminds me that he left Dallas after winning a title in 2011. Really wish Dallas had kept him, he was a great inside presence to pair with Dirk. Prime Chandler didn't last that long, 2012 was the year to make use of him
I have loved him since the Hornets day and when he joined my Lakers for that one season I was ecstatic. he seems like a great guy and genuinely happy for Lin.
Just so you know, after this, he was treated like crap afterwards, and that is why when the USA was like "Oh, we care about Hong Kong and Taiwan", I laughed because they really don't and never did. In fact, Asian Americans were all alienated and considered outsiders or even animals. The USA never had the representation that it claims since they cannot even give basic human rights to Asians or other people of color. The USA always been a joke, and it will forever become a joke around the world. The fact that some people of color think they are American makes the whole thing even more funny because they are so whitewashed.
Linsanity is what got me into basketball.. every night the Knicks were playing I’d make sure i finished my homework early and do what i had to do so that i had time to watch the games.. it was must watch tv and just a great squad they had back then.. like they do right now

The best “flash in the pan” moment in pro sports history IMO. He seized his opportunity and made the most of it. It’s too bad he couldn’t stay healthy while he was still in his prime.
Not bad NBA career at all...most would die for it. 10/11 seasons and a NBA title...playing big minutes...average double digit in scoring for a career...not a flash in the pan or one hit wonder.
That month of basketball felt unreal, dude is like the dream of every Asian kid playing MyPlayer on 2K brought to life. Linsanity will forever be one of my favorite NBA memories.
Jonmangaming+ No he didn't lol...if the rocket and lakers got rid of him what makes you think he deserved that money? Lin is not a starter on any playoff team just know that
Still one of my favorite runs as a Knicks fan. I've followed the team through the 90's until now and this was such a good time to be a Knicks fan. I wish we could've found a way to keep this going.
On this exact day my third daughter was born, and my brother came over to help me care for my two toddlers. My brother and I (both lifelong Knicks fans) put the kids to bed and then watched this game on SNY, the Nets channel. First game we watched all year because MSG had been blacked out all year due to a cable dispute. We had been tracking Lin closely as fellow Asian Americans (plus he starred for my alma mater). I'm so glad we were able to see this game live, together!
Jeremy Lin’s name will live forever in the No 1 basketball league in the world through the once in a lifetime phenomenon Linsanity. Thank you Jeremy for the beautiful memories.
jared jeffries raved about lin, tyson chander loved him, landry fields was made better by Lin, and Amare was rooting him on and getting good feeds from lin too. Melo ruined it all and Amare even stated that (without officially saying melo's name) what a shame. if we didnt make that trade for melo we woulda had all those assets plus mayb Lin couldve been pivotal off the bench and the garden would be buzzing and who knows what talent we coulda added with the money we woulda saved with only one max player. sigh...
+dewy13newgen stop dude. Melo could have came as a free agent but gutted the entire Knick core because he wanted Bird rights and the extra 30 million. He's saying all the right things now but if he REALLLLY wanted to do best for the knicks he woulda A) waited till free agency the first time B) when he re-signed take less than Max. There have been articles upon articles where Melo has his tech company in NY and business aspirations in NY. Also, while i do dislike melo as a franchise player, he is a decent human being and wants to keep his family in NY where his kids go to school. But melo wants the spotlight and to continue his business ventures. I was hoping that all the losing would cause him to get out, but again the knicks can pay melo the most and his family is here. Kobe was even asked (when melo played streetball with Kevin Love and Kobe in LA) why melo didnt become a laker, and Kobe responded "there were 30 million reasons why". Not to mention that stupid documentary about how he almost became a bull. Lin has always had to work extra hard to gain respect, hes tearing it up with charlotte and will continue to be a fan of his. its just sad because D'antoni and coaches gave him a chance and it woulda been nice to see him to continue to develop as a knick. melo had to squash it (Amare's words and general buzz have indicated that which both have more merit then your opinion no offense). Yes, felton was a part of the trade. But remember that year he and amare had that pick and roll going? Felton was almost an All star! Even if lin came on board, if melo wasnt there...amare who was ruined by melo as we all know would have prospered and felton would have too. That'd be a good problem to have where if felton and amares pick and roll left Lin on the bench then lin coulda made the 2nd unit more prolific. And not too mention all the extra cap space and assets (mozgov got 2 first round picks, i could only imagine what an all rookie player like landry fields, a defensive stopper and 15 ppg scorer in wilson chandler could gotten). I dont want to take kudos, cuz lord knows ive been wrong about other things in sports..but i said that when the knicks traded for melo in 2011-2012, itd set the franchise back at least 5 years because u cant build around a one dimensional player who eats up 1/4 of the cap. James Harden, who i think is more talented in that he can distribute the ball better, kinda falls into the same category.
dewy13newgen Wrong.. Felton was in Portland.. Baron Davis was supposed to be our starter.. The next year Felton came back vowing to win over the fans again.. AND HE DID. He was asked about Lin sanity during summer league nd never threw shade. He just was saying He gonna turn up in ny

Junaid Ali no isaiah thomas.Drafted 60th and is now averaging 30ppg
wow refs actually called fouls for jeremy back in those days.
+manfred edilson and he actually got picks run for him!!
+Robert Rawins i agreed
+manfred edilson LOL. Guy doesn't get any flagrants man
Can’t imagine what it felt like in these moments for him. From broke crashing on his friend’s couch to an arena chanting his name.
I was so hype when this game happened because I knew about him from Nigahiga and Kevjumba's RUclips channels. Then when he continued the "linsanity" I was so happy for him :)
Me too!!

didnt get it, can anyone explain
Never understood why the Knicks got rid of Lin. He made them relevant again and boosted their ticket sales. Bad management.
The only thing shittier than the Knicks is the city they play in. Lol you have Dolan and deblasio lol.
Agreed. I never liked the Knicks (grew up in NYC) and I even started liking the LIN Knicks because they were playing TEAM BALL.
They did it because Melo was uncomfortable with how he was taking over
@@isaacshingange3733 Yeah, I remember him telling the media "it's still my team." What a jackass.
what happens when an nba scouts somebody ?? this is the result of scouts not doing their job..
The greatest time to be a Knicks fan since the 90s. Sad but true.
it really was. the knicks should have traded melo and kept Lin
No one gave him a chance except the knicks. He is doing work in Charlotte now but they don't let him do his thing as much as they should.
That's because the Point Guard he comes of the bench for, Kemba Walker, is really good.
hopefully he can do his thing in Brooklyn should be the starting PG
He actually got this chance by accident. This game was almost his last game in the Knicks. But luckily, he got it!
I love his passion and experience and he deserves to play alongside someone great again like Luka.
it would be nice to see that duo!
Dallas already had Lin in his rookie year on the summer league team but Dallas didn't sign him
@@kayonrossum4552 he did good too in that year
Yes, it would be fun to watch!
Bruh
I'm not a Knicks fan but this game was a great moment in sports history. I can't stop watching it since 2012.
This is where Deron William's soul was stolen by Jlin
spacebjorn - yeah, sometimes there's a loser.
spacebjorn Too bad the next time they faced each other....Deron Williams ended Linsanity and took his life.
@@SDSOverfiend this comment didn't age well
@@SDSOverfiend nah he didn't lmao 😂
It was really heartbreaking to see Jeremy Lin cried in a sharing in Taiwan several months ago when he mentioned that he was not signed by any NBA team. He is really a good basketball player!
I'm glad he got a ring with the raptors
Gotta love his teammates just letting him live in the moment and do his thing.
Except Carmelo Anthony
It almost brings tears to my eyes watching this I remember being a kid waiting for the knicks game to come on and watching with my dad very exciting to watch this team
That's what sports are all about. Cherish those times with your dad. Mine is getting up there in age so I really enjoy watching games with him now
love the way Fields hugged Lin and congratulating him on his night, one of the best guys I've seen.
Linsanity was a real thing and also well deserved.. I’m not a Knicks fan but I enjoyed his moments
This is still one of the most exciting NBA games ever. I love how much of an underdog this guy was
I love how the commentators get more excited as the game plays on
Only the best NBA play by play guy ever calling the game 👌
They didn't have much to celebrate till then.!
十年了,回顧依然雞皮疙瘩,感謝那些日子給予的正面能量與感動
Just so you know, after this, he was treated like crap afterwards, and that is why when the USA was like "Oh, we care about Hong Kong and Taiwan", I laughed because they really don't and never did. In fact, Asian Americans were all alienated and considered outsiders or even animals. The USA never had the representation that it claims since they cannot even give basic human rights to Asians or other people of color. The USA always been a joke, and it will forever become a joke around the world. The fact that some people of color think they are American makes the whole thing even more funny because they are so whitewashed.
This underdog story will live on forever. I still get chills every time I watch Linsanity. It. Was. Insane.
- Detroit Pistons fan
Linsanity is what got me into basketball.. every night the Knicks were playing I’d make sure i finished my homework early and do what i had to do so that i had time to watch the games.. it was must watch tv and just a great squad they had back then.. like they do right now
I just can’t help coming back and repeating this video every now and then. For me it’s the most inspiring moment I’ve ever seen in the past ten years. Jeremy all the best
The best “flash in the pan” moment in pro sports history IMO. He seized his opportunity and made the most of it. It’s too bad he couldn’t stay healthy while he was still in his prime.
Not bad NBA career at all...most would die for it. 10/11 seasons and a NBA title...playing big minutes...average double digit in scoring for a career...not a flash in the pan or one hit wonder.
you might want to rethink that. 11 yr NBA career and he had to earn it
nothing but respect for him
That month of basketball felt unreal, dude is like the dream of every Asian kid playing MyPlayer on 2K brought to life. Linsanity will forever be one of my favorite NBA memories.
remember watching this live, gives me goosebumps everytime.
Who here is waiting to see Linsanity once again with the Raptors?

Jonmangaming+ No he didn't lol...if the rocket and lakers got rid of him what makes you think he deserved that money? Lin is not a starter on any playoff team just know that
Its not about skin color tho , lin is really underrated even tho he could do much more :v

Still one of my favorite runs as a Knicks fan. I've followed the team through the 90's until now and this was such a good time to be a Knicks fan. I wish we could've found a way to keep this going.
I like how Chandler can't stop smiling. And the "Jeremy" chant by the New York crowd gives me nostalgia. Good old days.
I liked that not everyone was a hater like Melo and he had teammates genuinely happy for him.
From a reserve player off the bench, to an immortal worldwide sensation. Jeremy Lin’s story is truly inspiring.
Jeremy Lin’s name will live forever in the No 1 basketball league in the world through the once in a lifetime phenomenon Linsanity. Thank you Jeremy for the beautiful memories.
@montoin averie very!
jared jeffries raved about lin, tyson chander loved him, landry fields was made better by Lin, and Amare was rooting him on and getting good feeds from lin too.
James Harden, who i think is more talented in that he can distribute the ball better, kinda falls into the same category.
shash shut up, ima report ur spam
Spam for giving my opinion??? um, ok.
dewy13newgen Wrong.. Felton was in Portland.. Baron Davis was supposed to be our starter.. The next year Felton came back vowing to win over the fans again.. AND HE DID. He was asked about Lin sanity during summer league nd never threw shade. He just was saying He gonna turn up in ny

That ONE SEASON of LINSANITY showed us how beautiful Life is...
It proves that Wonderful things are just around the corner waiting for those
Who never give up hope and for those who bravely face anything they encounter!
It is not about if youre getting paid well or not, nor being famous for years...it was, for Lin, jumping on that train for a short ride but being the luckiest one who experienced how magical that brief tour was! 👍👍👍
That brief tour extended his career and probably led to millions in his pocket.
Nice.. i use to stay late nights to watch Linsanity live. Even non-basketball guys were watching the games because of him. Thanks JLin the experience>
2021, & Im still disappointed in the NBA for not giving Lin a shot.
Nah that's not it he kept getting injured that's why he wasn't a super star.
He does not deserve one. It's over
He can't be healthy for more than 28 games a season it's not personal
If AD keeps getting hurt the acne thing is gonna happen to him
Have you seen the young players we have now? Lin's too slow to play guard. Too small to be a forward. He's also not a very good shooter nor a good defender.
And now Melo is a washed up player trying to find a team while Jeremy Lin is an NBA Champion... Let that sink in ( Edit ) Carmelo Anthony is not a washed up player and I am an Idiot. Please roast me in the comments
Heck, one of them won't be in the NBA for much longer for being arrogant. Carmelo could've easily been a good 6th man because we all know he is trash now. Jeremy accepts his role and is now an NBA champ. I guess you can call this Karma.
And Melo is balling for a potential playoff team and where is Lin?
Blazers won’t make the playoffs lmao
@@JoeBro915 Lin is balling it up in China. No matter how you put things, Mello ruined Lin's career in the NBA. Plus melo is still trash, he only had a hot first week on the blazers. Only reason he's guaranteed is bc the blazers are weak on pf
@@taimooreyousaf1932 opening an argument by saying "balling it up in China." Isn't that the same place that Jimmer was scoring at will. You all say Melo ruined Lin's career but the Knicks actually made a good decision for once to let the injury prone one and half week wonder go.
