I was a little surprised and taken aback when Kamora offered to mentor, but then commented about being her "boss." As a mentor, Kamora should be encouraging the young designer to be her own boss. Too often talented young people are relegated to support roles, and their work claimed by others. I hope this young designer is promoted and helped by her "mentor" to forge her own path.
It is up to the young designers Parents to make sure that happens .

You peeps saying cheap don’t realize Kelly’s show JUST started. It doesn’t have a lot of money . When Wendy Williams show first started she was reusing wigs and wardrobe and didn’t have the budget for gifts etc and Oprah didn’t start off with gifts for the audiences etc. it takes time and money for gifts to be handed out. I think kimoras gift was priceless bc it may just set up that little girls life and without the Kelly show that girl may never had the chance to meet kimora and get this head start.

I remember my sister went on an audition for the movie "Scream" in L.A. when it first came out. At the time, the agency was auditioning for a young child character which I found out was , "The Fresh Prince of Belair". While my sister was auditioning for Scream, I was in the lobby making everyone laugh and acting silly. One of the agency execs saw me and asked my mother if I could audition. They then told her they wanted to do a "trial run" with me to see how I connect with the main characters. My mom said no. That always frustrates me to this day. She wanted me to be a lawyer. I dropped out of my law classes and enrolled in Creative classes. Got my BA in Creative Writing and now I'm a writer.
To all the parents out there. If your child is creative and shows some interests in the arts, PLEASE nurture that. You never know what they'll become but we're all not meant to be doctor's and lawyers. Some of us as artists heal and represent people in other art forms.
