Now we're talking. Though I still wish she looked more like a goddess of witchcraft and not just any generic fantasy mage.
Also, I hope it's just her ult that is based on her role as goddess of crossroads, and not her whole kit. Then we're kinda just getting a different version of Janus.
It’s crazy how the community made such better concepts that thematically captures her lore way better.

Fantastic. Please, take your time with Smite2. What you did with Hecate can be done with many aspects of the game. We prefer a good game over a game that comes out fast
Step 1: Enemy team attacks Titan
Step 2: Hecate Ult entire team into spawn camp
(Optional step:) Wall or cage them in spawn camp
Step 3: Watch them all die
Step 4: Rush their Titan and win
Odin cage with Ymir preparing to Ult with Hecate teleporting the entire team to die from Ymir's Ult
Now THAT was an ultimate. The 1 is definitely unfinished but it does look a little interesting so far especially since it looks like she has multiple charges and once they hit it looks like they stop for another function briefly? Looking forward to seeing that new 3 as well since that too was super underwhelming.
She’s definitely starting to feel more like HECATE.

Super cool. Think of the fire giant pulls. Whole team almost kills fire then you pull them out and maybe someone on your team steps in and finishes it.
You nailed it guys. Now THATS an ultimate fitting for a goddess, associated with crossroads and witchcraft

00:39 hope to see this alternate ui available in the next playtest was my favorite by far. Much easier to see your active cooldowns if you're used to the smite 1 placement of active items on the right side

Hope they improve the animations on abilities, instead of rushing the abilities and vfx take more time and make the characters feel unique, not just with new mechanics but also with the way they move and sound.
I must agree its odd they chose to focus on aspect of transitioning on hecate when they already have janus ... I think they should focus more on her as the goddess of witchraft (black magic, rituals and stuff). In this game she seems more like an arcane sorceress. Though I completely agree with him some gods are easy to make bcs they only have one or two affiliations and some like Hecate have many, but I don't agree with the fact that transitioning should be her strongest suit.
Personally I am waiting for arachne and persephone and I Really REALLY hope they will be treated fairly (not like poor hades 😅).

Love the rework and how Hirez is hearing and working with player feedback! It looks beautiful and fits her theme so much better. I hope the trend continues and we get even more improvements like this in Smite 2! Definitely prefer a good game over a rushed one :D

The fact you didn't give Hekate any mention of a pole cat is astounding
Her 3 should work on Allies and herself give her more of a utility mage identity. which she already kinda is with her passive.
I'm happy we're pushing the new god's kit this much. The initial version didn't scream "entire new and upgraded engine with more mechanics available."

Glad you guys cooked up some new ideas. With the UE5 upgrade, I hope to see you recycling parts of other characters kits less & less. Which was a noticeable trait of Smite 1. This is your chance to show you're more creative than UE3 allowed you to be.

@@GothPaokiGood thing this is smite, let's be real taking good ideas from other mobas is what we should want to see, this ult might exist in dota but it's something new for smite and it's much more interesting than a lot of older designs and can add more content for smite players

I specifically said recycling kits from other characters. Clearly indicating I was talking about their own game. If it’s new to smite, then it is new. Period.
I'd bet you've heard it before, but you should team up with Supergiant Games and try to get a Hades 2 skin. Both your studios seems like they have great work cultures and customer bases.

I wish they'd do sth about her appearance though. She looks like every single generic female mage you'd see in a cards game or other media. Put a cape give her a staff and it's all done... Her lore is so rich and they could have done so much more with her. That just doesn't scream mother of witchcraft.
Agreed! I like her face, especially in the concept art, but everything else... mehhh. But like you said; She looks like any plethora of MMO or MTG card Mage characters.
They even gave her the overused "attack mage stance" that so many magical women characters have. The Morrigan is doing the exact same stance but at a different angle for crying out loud. Freya and Persephone do it, too.

Ult is much better than before, but as many others have said, I really hope they at least change her color scheme and ability colors to match her original aesthetic. Right now she looks like a generic fantasy arcane mage, and she deserves better.

Nah still not feeling this. The ult is just horus’s but a little better…and still has nothing to do with her lore or iconography. She really needed three stances.

Edit: Ah...I see she was shown 2 months ago, there was no reveal trailer or anything, just a dev update about her so I didn't notice, probably thought it was some sort of skin.

Horus Ult doesn’t displace enemies. Technically that is new. The range is also severely limited compared to Horus’. Similar vein but still different. It is much better than the old ult she had.
Its not like Horus's at all except that it can transport allies. It can teleport enemies AND allies. Its wayyy more versatile. What are you really expecting that'd be new? Dmg Ult? Exists. Teleport Ult? Exists. Portal Ult? Exists. CC Ult? Exists. LIke what are you reasonably expecting its all been done in one way or another. This is new in every way, Horus's can only do half of the ability and it doesn't even function the same.

In Greek mythology, Hecate is considered the strongest Titan not imprisoned in Tartarus (or not dead) because she received a lot of power over the heavens, earth and underworld from both her parents (titans Perses and Asteria) and from Zeus who gave her nearly-unlimited power and many gifts for siding with him against Kronos during the Titanomachy. Hecate looks like a generic mage here in SMITE 2 and her voice sounds like a regular, mundane woman - it is NOT a fitting design for the supreme goddess of everything. You need to redesign her seriously.
Smite is famous for.not trying very hard with their designs, they just pick very basic features.

why do you insist of keeping crossplay in ranked? You do realize how much worse ranked is now for console players than before season 10 when you put in crossplay? If you say there is no difference than show a graph where console players were ranked before vs now.
