@@brandon-ww3mu mediocre at best yet he had an ERA+ of 111 with them. Which is above average. So not mediocre lol yes monster is an exaggeration but he was very solid
Another awesome video! Keep up the great content! Really shoulda talked about the 96 season from Ellis Burks instead of Camininti tho! Yeah he played half of his games in Coors but the numbers he put up that year was ridiculous
Willie McGee in 1985: -Hit .353 and won the NL batting title -56 stolen bases -18 triples -NL All-Star -Gold Glove -216 hits -Silver Slugger -NL MVP People talk about that guy like he was a role player, wherehe had several award-heavy seasons, several All-Star appearances, and won 2 NL batting titles during Tony Gwynn's prime. His 1985 was wild.
Another interesting tidbid on Valentin. At Seton Hall, he was not only teammates with another future Boston star in Mo Vaughn, but also HOFer Craig Biggio.
Saw his face in the thumbnail.so I checked his baseball ref page. 4.2 WAR/162 games played with two seasons of over 7 WAR and another 3 or 4 over 5 WAR. .398 OBP and .295 Avg. He's the definition of Hall of Very Good. Just this side of being borderline HOF.
Fun fact Robbie Sanchez actually pitched for the Braves toward the of his career and during the Braves rebuild. He was still pretty good as a junk baller.

How about a video of "one game wonders". Players who were average at best who just had one insane game. Players like Scotter Gennett and Phillip Humber come to mind
I think this can get watered down depending on what the parameters are. Tons of bad hitters had great hitting nights, but clutch big games from subpar hitters would be interesting. Or even a series.
@@r6cketship yeah that's why I mentioned the two I did. Has to be games where they did something ridiculous that you almost never see. Like Gennett hitting 4 homers and Humber throwing a perfect game
You should do a part 2 of this exact same video but do other players and one of the players should be Aaron Nola back in 2018 finished 17-6 with a 2.37 ERA finished 3rd in CY Young voting and 13th in MVP voting
I HAVE NOT forgotten that anibal Sanchez year. Didn’t remember him being traded by the Sox tho
Anibal Sanchez, not a person I would ever forget. He was a monster while on the Marlins.
He was mediocre at best on the Marlins. Come on now, be real. He definitely wasn't a monster

@@graysonbuza1074 look at his full stats. Not impressive at all to say the least
@@brandon-ww3mu not every pitcher is a #1. I think many teams would've taken a guy like him in their rotation
2015 Dee Strange-Gordon led the mlb in hits, stolen bases and lead the NL in batting average. Also won a gold glove and silver slugger
Oooo good one

John Olerud kind of looks like Eli Manning in the thumbnail. I'm also happy the Yankees had him in 2004, as I always enjoyed watching him play.

I would have to look again to refresh my memory, but I think Jason Heyward had a great, career best season in St. Louis several years back.
Another interesting tidbid on Valentin. At Seton Hall, he was not only teammates with another future Boston star in Mo Vaughn, but also HOFer Craig Biggio.
Darin Erstad’s 2000 season with 240 hits comes to mind
2017 Logan Morrison had a sneaky good offensive season for Tampa Bay. Nobody talks about it, but I miss watching that dude.
Very underrated season. I’ll do another one of these videos and be sure to talk about that season
I chose this in the poll.
John Olerud was extremely solid and hit wherever he went. I had no idea his 1993 was so amazing.
Olerud was one of the most underrated players of all time imo

I guess Gagne's 2003 season is one of the most forgotten season, He was insane those years
2014 Doug Fister, 2012 Gio Gonzalez, and 2016 Daniel Murphy are the ones that come to mind.
I always think of Jim Rome when I hear the name J.D Drew... "Good ol DL Drew"😂😂
Oh Jim Rome. I’ll always love that Jim Everett clip 😂
Brandon Crawford 2021 might have been one of the oddest seasons I’ve ever seen
Caminiti is one my all time favorites. Hell of a ballplayer.

Should have mentioned that!
- Eric hinske rookie year
- manny ramirez 165 RBI SEASON IN 1999 😮
a 205 ERA+ for Greinke in 2009… What? Is this real life? Hahahahaha just insane

I still can’t believe JD Drew was only an all-star ONE season!
my aunt went to high school with Ken Caminiti lol

How do you not mention that Lucroy hit 53 doubles?
DANGIT I remember seeing that when looking at his numbers too. I hate myself.
Lucroy didn't win a gold glove smh
