    Little shops will only survive if they sell something nobody else has and at the right price to pull the people in, I travel 2 hours to a farm stall because they sell homemade produce that I can’t buy from anywhere else.

    Technology is moving so fast it is adapt or die for retailers. I expect to see delivery drones flying around regularly in a few years time in Britain.

      Only thing stopping them is regulation. Noise and payload are already being solved. The issue will always be that a drone collides with another drone, a building, birds, etc and someone below gets killed

      I would prefer to get off my rear end and to walk to the shops near me, supporting my local community and putting money straight back into my town, not straight into billionaires pockets.

UN dept of social and economic affairs. upward trend in population size is set to continue. 11.2 billion by the close of this century. thats a positive additon of approx 83 million per year.

    Killing local businesses and paying almost no tax. Nothing being done to help the older generation to survive. Can't expect them to suddenly become digital marketing experts or retrain for a different career.

    The way i see it I have 3 choices. 1) buy everything online. More choice, takes less time, and quite often costs less. 2)Shop in out-of-town retail parks. Free parking, plenty of choice, good prices, instant purchases. Or 3) go into town. The only reason I find to go into town now is to have a snoot around the charity shops.

      This is happening everywhere not just the UK! countries in Europe are being bled dry by the EU which is why spending is down overall. Leaving the EU is best option and we will just be the first country to leave and because of that the EU will put the pressure on everyone else so more countries will leave and the EU will collapse.

    2:08 Carpets have become obsolete, more difficult to clean, more unhygienic, hard floors or tiles are cheaper in the long run, they do not need to be replaced. These old folks should have seen the trend coming and sold out long ago. Now they are whinging.Pffff

    The councils everywhere have approved retail parks that feature free and unfettered parking. Whilst they fine, hassle and overcharge users trying to access the traditional shopping areas. The end result is for all to see.

    Parking is definitely one of the biggest rip-off that’s putting people off going into town centres in the first place as well. Not to mention it’s also hindered by a lot of people not being able to park their electric cars in them because councils aren’t hurrying up and installing more charge points. I’d imagine if Amazon were to invest in that then we wouldn’t have no problem would we.

      No, it's due to globalism, idiot. Capitalism works by private companies within a country PAYING EMPLOYEES not replacing them with robots. This is Globalism, using one country as hub for free labour, making sales in that country, shipping those profits out of that country without paying taxes or wages their, it's globalism.
