Avatar are good drills, I run a 12metre, and the pressure is run off the fan hydraulics so can use timer on up/down and alter pressure off screen. When I demoed a 6 metre I used a timed spool then float on headland management.
Andy, nice video as always 🙂 we just bought 1 from olivers and you don't have to wait for the pressure to set to (12oclock) olivers don't know how to set it up properley so they say that to everyone on demo lol, we run are 1 on our JDs it auto sets on a timer just like any drill. when you calibrate it you have to remember to also put it on the tank your using or your calibrate tank 2 thinking your doing tank 1. the drill it self is brilliant, 1 thing i do like is the wet mode its got.
I see the Horsch Avatar is very popular this season, the big one and the small one. My grandads mate is a tillage farmer, and he bought a New Horsch Focus 4TD Drill, now I think it’s designed as a strip till drill but he and most others I see on the internet use it like a normal drill. It has tines but doesn’t work like a Tine drill instead of running the seed pipes down the tines they have the tines and then at the back a thing for the coulters, on the tines they have pipes to place fertiliser but the lad I know doesn’t bother with the fertiliser just sprays it on later. Seems to be working well for them, 4 meter one being pulled by a 6250R. Levels it well enough and works well direct drilling from what I can see.
@ honestly, no! We had a Rapid before, one of the older box type ones and that was horrendous for dragging but the Horsch is no bother. When I find the limit, it tends to be the tractor making ruts before the drill will sink. Same as your current tho, seed placement is poor in comparison to the two disk drills we run but the Moore drill really struggles in anything that’s not very firm!
My 936 fent is black red wheels looks the part pulls like a Wiltshire girls g string lol. U need to try 1 keep the other green on there toes we got a red thing on demo shortly

Horsch Avatar seems to be the drill of choice this season. I really want to see a Horizon drill with its air complicated coulters.
Excellent update! An impressive piece of kit!
All the Horsch kit looks pretty slick imo
Alright buddy. Nice video mate your really good at what you do always always enjoy watching your stuff nice work mate,👍
New drill with a free Claas for Andy before the old JD breaks down😂
Thanks Andy great content as always cheers.👍👍🚜
Nice one Andy
Cracking video andy, nice demo drill, forget the grass seed get the food in the ground and the straw for the cattle. Nice claas tractor.

Disagree with the comment on the Sprinter, they keep going long after you should be put drilling! Fantastic drill
In my experience when the sprinter is used in tacky conditions we spend half the day unblocking the rear wheels of mud do you not find?

Cracking video Andy - I take it you didn’t go much on the Claas tractor then??
Andy why would you not go for a wider drill to match the length of the sprayer ?
Wonder how you rate the CLAAS?
Wouldn’t have one out of choice
better than the JD
we run a horizon 6 meter
there are several issues with the horizon drill with the wheels
What hp does it need Andy would like a 8m currently drill 4m vad with a t7245
Prob 250hp plus for the 8mtr they said 200hp is ideal for the 6mtr
Why don’t you give the weaving GD drill ago
Why so delayed posts? We are middle of November now
DSX will be better 😁
