I bought their Flaunt It album in 1986 at the age of 16, and I played that bloody album practically every night after getting home from school and from work. It got me through my difficult teenage years. I was hearing the future of music, not only from Sigue Sigue Sputnik, but from Ministry's "Twitch" album, which I also bought that same year, and later, Niter Ebb's "That Total Age" album.. What a great time for music. Without it, my teenage years would have been very boring, indeed.
I knew both Martin and Boy George before they became famous, we used to drink with them most nights in Walsall, before they went off to the Birmingham clubs. Martin was quiet and intelligent, George a shallow clown. Good memories of them both though.
The late 80s were pretty awful alright. People forget how much crap there was. It was all boring inoffensive soul based crap and stock aitken and waterman dross. When people think of the 80s they forget about that stuff.
Fantastique groupe ! Un superbe band pour le DONBASS Russe national bolchevik. Exactement comme le that Total age de NITZER EBB. À la mémoire de darya DOUGUINE et Édouard LIMONOV...
I thought they had something sort of post punk cyber-ish but it wasn't sustainable. Overall, it was more style over substance but glad they came into our lives.
the idea was .. n still is magnafique... but the recreating it live is almost impossible. encore n w todays tecnology they would n could have pulled it off.

Oh man, That Total Age got heavy rotation in my house. I'm a sucker for synth arpeggios.
Into was born in 1970. Same. Went to England in 1986 and bought a copy.

Well 86 needed SSS, it was starting to get a little dull at that point in the decade.

Atari Baby was a winner for me. Great track, just a few years too late for Blade Runner.
botoxed much? his mouth barely moved when he spoke
I was thinking the same thing. Either that or the fishnet mask was too tight.
