      Awesome, it's worth a visit in person. Ubon Ratchathani was a province I didn't expect anything from but it is now one of my very favorite places in Thailand. A lot to do there and tons of food options!

    Good to see you back on vlogging. How did you keep the video recording decently bright in those dark hours, at the Temple? Some shutter settings, I guess. And I think you forgot to mention the price of the hotel. How much was it?

      Thank you and you are so right, I totally forgot to say the room was $33 per night. We ended up staying there 5 days. Link is in the description and if you visit I think you will have a great experience.

    A few weeks ago our family did a week in Laos and it reminded me of being in Thailand back in 2003. I would highly recommend taking the China Laos high-speed rail from Vientiane to Luang Prabang, and then back to Vang Vien, and then back again to Vientiane. There are many things to do and see. I myself enjoyed the ziplining, cave exploring, and waterfalls which are all amazing. Having a US passport will cost you 1700 thb to cross the border and 20 thb to come back into Thailand. Check it out you will be happy you did

      Hi Robert, that sounds awesome. I think after reading your comments I am going to have to take your suggestion. I would love to take the high speed rail to Vang Vien, I have never been. Thank you!

    There is a similar restaurant in Khon Kaen on the way to Kalisan I am betting it is under the same ownership since the setting is exactly the same.

      Thank you Uwe. For us, it would likely be in Khon Kaen but we also really love the province in this video, Ubon Ratchathani. There are some really great people, restaurants and Vietnamese influence due to the nearby border, which means great food.

      @@TheThaiLife Yes we know the great food from there. because in our Town liifes many Thai woman. And we go often in Thai Tempel, near our city, and there give it many good food from all countries in Thailand. My wife comes from Nakhon Ratchasima . And I like the people there, but I think is not the town where I will live in the future, because there are not so much German People there. And my Thai is not perfect. How long you live there? And what about other German`s there? Best wishes Siri and Uwe

    Before there Ubon has one forest temple (Wat) with a guite a lot farangs monks. Many of those farangs left their past life and "hiding" or start new life there in temple. No names or past history asked...

    • @TheThaiLife
      @TheThaiLife  2 года назад

      Oh wow, that is really interesting. I found a place like that once in Loei. I didn't know any of the history or why they were there, so I asked where one was from and I felt like I asked the wrong thing. But he answered he was from Canada. I asked about his family and he didn't know. I asked if I could give them a message for him and he flat out said no. With what you are saying about no names and past history asked, now I understand my mistake. I think it was the same thing.

    looked like a great trip how far from khon kaen

    • @TheThaiLife
      @TheThaiLife  2 года назад

      Great question, it's a bit of a trek. To get to the city is about a 6-hour drive. Then, the temples are mostly about 1.5 hours more outside town. However; if you go to Ubon first and eat great food like we show a bit of, stay the night and go to the temples the next day it seems more manageable. But it's way worth it!

    • @TheThaiLife
