Thank you for understanding what our medals mean to us. I am a South African who served in a later war.I also have my grandfathers WW2 medals as well as various family sets from WW1. These medals are a reminder of service to our country and keeps me in touch with my forbears.
I have my dad's medals from ww2 and they are really precious to me. Everyone should know about these things and realise the sacrifice and effort that went to earn them. Youngsters of today have no idea of the significance of these such precious pieces of history.
