I always had wonderful math and science teachers. I wanted to be a math major in college but changed to chemistry. My parent didn't think that was very "lady-like" so they offered to pay for an extra year of college if I would try business for a year. It's funny how things work out. I didn't do any of those.
I really appreciate how you are happy to acknowledge and freely advertise your tradesmen. On the typical home shows, they're too often just nameless latin americans working in the background when they, not the stars, are doing most of the work. Ricardo deserves all the referrals this channel is bringing with how great he and his crew are. That apartment seems like it will start coming together really soon. When do you plan to have renters in there?
I just love these guys. I wish they had so much work that I had to wait weeks to get them back! We hope to have renters in at least one of the apartmens sometime in the next 12 months. There are still a lot of little issues to resolve but everything's going in the right direction now.
I know I've said it a thousand times but I couldn't do this project withour Ricardo and my earlier contractor Robert. It helps to have people you've worked with for years and trust. And the grand baby is adorable.
Congrats to Jo on the new grandchild. It's such a cool part of life being a grandparent. I was the most excited about the windows coming. Thanks to the volunteers, you can focus on bigger jobs. Hope you get to enjoy some of the Memorial weekend. 🤗❤️🤍💙
We are all excited about the windows. It will be such a big change. I had a fantastic weekend, my daughter suprised me for my birthday by coming into town with my grandaughter. Grandchildren are the best!
One small bite at a time. If we could just get that floor in and a couple of the basement windows redone to have some natural light over on the other side I'd be one happy renovator!
My eyes widened when you mentioned the windows are going to be rebuilt once the staircase pieces are out of the way, I was genuinely surprised. Oh, dang. That's right. The roof has been properly repaired for at least the next 50 years. So....the windows can return! That is so exciting. I cannot wait for that video. It's also very cathartic to see the basement finally get closer and closer to being completed. Also, I've been following your progress long enough to forget that it was Kaleb from 2nd Empire Strikes Back that led me to this channel. And it's inspired me ever since. My projects have been put into perspective and been made way more doable.
We are all excited about the windows getting rebuilt. My husband has even offered to help me get the shutters for that room over to New Orleans to be stripped and repaired, with a big detour on the way home to go fetch an antique water heater I bought in Hot Springs AK. Kaleb's house has come so far. He is doing wonderful work. These old houses just take time and patience. Good luck on your own projects.
It's hard for me to know and I'm the one who designed it. The two level thing hurts my mind. It will make much more sense when the floor and walls go in.
You, Ricardo and crew plus volunteers are amazing. I keep learning all that you teach with each segment of your journey. Love the work ethic of all. Needless to say in today's world is to be admired. Think you have enough work remaining to entertain your followers! Thankfully
Janie, No need to explain your thriftiness . As a kid that had parents, that went through WWll, we weren’t aloud to waste anything. It was a sin! My grandparents came from farms and the same thing went there. I had better finish, what was on my plate too. No waste for those folks... Of course I inherited those values and I’m damn proud of it...🙌🏻
We never wasted anything growing up. My dad had me help him re-roof their house when I was eleven. We took the shingles off one at a time by hand, pulled the nails and then straightened them out and reused them. I can't say I'd ever do that again.
@@leaguekempnerhouseI am in Galveston right now. I need to find some place to donate some antique clothing. I have a mink stole, a wedding gown, and another gown. I was hoping to give them to you for your fashion show. Nobody is there. I went by the theater district, but nobody could take them.
Love the opossum superhighway; wish I had one guy who could make short work of painting my chimney. I have waited for several painters, but nobody wants to do it even though we ate going to pay for the job. And I have the same question, how do you hold onto your workers with nobody stealing them away?
I dare say, had I had a Math or Science teacher that explained things like you do, I’d know much more of Math and Science.

Congratulations to Jo on her grand baby! Also to Marisol for getting through to Ricardo. You lead a great team.

@@leaguekempnerhouse Well, Happy Birthday!🎂 May you enjoy many more blessed days. 🥳🥳
Thank you! We got in so many baby snuggles!
What a job! Everything you do in the house is daunting. You and the crew are amazing.

So glad you have more volunteers to help out it sure does make a difference. You are progressing nicely.
It's so much fun to be able to share the house. The volunteers braved the heat and the mosquitoes. They were great.
What an amazing crew you have. It’s been hard for me to understand what is going where but I know you will make it great. Thanks for the update. 😊

Thank you for your kind words. This house will probably still need work long after I'm gone.😀
Thanks to all the volunteers, Ricardo & crew, and YOU their fearless leader!
Team work!

I wish I wasn’t so far away, I would love to come and work on your yard😊
I wish you did to. I hate yard work. Thank goodness some of the volunteers love it.
Excited to see the work! I'm in the process of making my own original art of the house.
I can't wait to see it! So good visiting with you the other day.

I got an advert for hair transplants. 🤣🤣 How did they know??
Great update its nice to see the all te work you got completed 2x 👍
They know everything. I get ads for orthopedic shoes. Sadly, I've started to click on them.
@@leaguekempnerhouse LOL thats so funny, me too. 🤦♂
Can't wait to see that kitchen layout
I'm kind of excited about the kitchen. I think it's going to be great.
Ricardo is a jewel. If we were in the same state, I would hire him and his crew in a NY minute to do some work that I need done. 🙂
He's the best.
He's the best.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, you have an incredible team working with you
I really do. Between Ricardo and his crew and all our volunteers, this house is truely blessed.
Your plans are coming along just great! Everything is going to be laid out very efficiently and will look perfect! Love the progress!
Thank you. Planning a small, constrained space is always a challenge but I'm happy with how it's coming along.
Holy productivity, Batman!
These guys don't mess around.
Ricardo must be a Good Husband listening to that sound advice his lovely wife is giving him. Strong Wives Strong Husbands!
They are a great team. I love them both.
The basement ceiling seems to be of a generous height. Will one day make some nice apartments.
I think they are going to be great. Especially when all the windows are repaired. It really is a bright, inviting space.
When you have the Old Ladies coming out again, please let me know.
Will do.

It is so hard to find reliable workers. It helps that I have been working with Riccardo for years.
@@leaguekempnerhouse I got an extender pole and did parts of it myself !
You need to expect the unexpected and learn to laugh i did😅
I laugh a lot. It's the only way to stay sane.
