Gosh Mr Brown has made such a growth spurt in the past six weeks physically, mentally and emotionally. What a change and what a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.

Here in England,my Grandfather, who had a farm, always said that if the cows are laying down it's a sign that it's going to rain and he was right 98% of the time.

its a beautiful day when you get to the day in your homestead journey, when you are planning your cut flower garden. that is like a sabath year. you have enough established to feed your family that you are consentrating on something purely astetic. perhaps if you were just a home gardener you might start out with cut flower garden and it has value especially for mental health and well being and then dable in some ediables but I hope you both can really appriciate where you are at on this side of things. that is lovely and can be a goal for me I really would not have thought about it. right now my dream is a 10 family full service year round csa. not just veggies but a gallon of milk a loaf or two of bread a couple pounds of fruit a dozen eggs or so and a chicken a week I am 5 years out from owning land but I am getting my practice garden in this year hopefully (it requires other people to get what I am wanting.) I am keeping to stickly ediables for safety and because I am learning so many different plants I wouldn't want to harvest a non ediable thinking it was ediable. but now I am dreaming adding in cut flowers to the mix. granted I am not attempting to feed my family and make a profit of the land in the first year. but I will be practicing a lot of seed strating and seed saving systems before I get my land so I should be able to scale it up pretty fast.

To do make the chicken Shaw trailerable, you need to put a loop (that you can hook a chain to) on the middle of the pipe. And chain it to the cage on the cabin. If you hook both sides of the bar to the tailgate on the gator, then it will tear up the chicken shaw when you turn.. maybe you can hose clamp a large metal ring (like the ones used in horse tack) to the middle of the pipe, so you can hook a change to it. love you guys

What happen with getting in the creek to cool off in.
When I lived in Topton area of Cherokee County, N.C the creek was our way of cooling off. We had a deep hole that was were we swim at.
I miss the homeplace and being so happy there.

My dad once made some mobile stiles he could move around and use to shortcut into the fields at certain points, he had one for each field (also one inside and one outside). It made it easy for us kids and kept the old fence in fair shape.

Too cold? Read up on the "Wim Hof" method. My rational side says I need to do this too. I could handle 10C as a child (50F), but 0C (32F)? [Fahrenheit that and urbandictionary]!

Im trying to understand the emotional complexity of being a responsible farmer. i see you pat your piggies lovingly but i assume they will eventually be food. Do you get used to it or is it hard to slaughter your animals?
