Nice museum, so sad that they don't get more people coming in...hopefully this vlog will help them. Wish I lived closer, I love places like that.
I from NC...kinda getting the heebie jeebies from most of this stuff, I think it's super cool though.
There was a flood so not that many people came
My favorite part is when the woman in the background goes "Eureka, i found it!"
Time stamp?
8:52
Stop
jill cheshire ?
viola carpender I got a fright. I was too busy concentrating on the antiques😂
9:45 SomeBODY ONCE TOLD ME... no but seriously I was so disappointed that it wasn't Shrek inside
Museums shall evolve someday, my friend.
When you said "theres miss wey right there" and the lady started talking I was so scared. Then "eureka I found it" I was like holy crap... I need to stop watching in the dark... alone 😂
Omg! Did you actually poop yourself baby girl? Out of fear? I know I did! I was so scared! I squirted liquid poo all in my man panties..."manties" if you will
Deej Price literally what is your comment 😭
@@saanvidawnvi7737 I'm still not sure
@@saanvidawnvi7737 he doesn't have anything to say so he's just trying to shock for attention.
Deej Price wtf is ur comment
The lady behind this collection must've had one heck of a life!
I really like how the curators of these local museums are so helpful to you!
The hair necklace is probably a Victorian era funerary thing.
It is. But that one was not a necklace. It would be hung on the wall. They did sometimes put locks of departed loved ones into a necklace, or even a belt buckle. At a time when pictures were expensive and difficult to obtain (this was also the reason for Victorian death photography, as it was oftentimes the only picture people ever had, of their loved ones), it was a way of visually remembering the loved one.
Okay, Nerd out. Lol.
I'd still rather see braided hair than human skin suits. 🙈
It could very well be older than that since it was done for a few centuries. About the 14th to the early 20th
1 too 2 visitors a week is so sad. Even if there was just 1 thing you wanted to see it would be worth the visit if you lived close by. As for the corn cob in the box with the glass front, as a kid I remember seeing these in lots of bathrooms as joke. We all know where your supposed to put the corn cob but I never could figuar out why they thought that would help or why its funny .
Robothut it’s cause back then the used corn cobs too wipe
It is funny who do u know that still uses them to wipe their butts with them so yeah it is funny .
I can honestly say I live in Belhaven and have never been in there, been meaning to
Cuz the place just isn't interesting
True, but how do you guys not know the difference between “to” and “too” lol
I'm going to be in the Belhaven area on business soon-enough, but, after hearing how few visitors they get, I might have to stop by. Great vid. Made me want to see more.
inkblot games Did youvever go to Belhaven?
Very cool museum with a lot of great oddities. Interesting on the flood water.
A lot of coastal towns have similar flooding during hurricane season. The locals are probably used to it.
The old lady yelling "eureka!!" Made my heart smile
This man just seems so pure and kind, I love it
This place feels like the years of my childhood spent wandering southern antique shops with my grandmother,Honey. This is a really fantastic place!
Belhaven is the town I grew up in. I can't believe you were there man. That's awesome. Too bad you didn't go down the road about 30 minutes to Bath, NC. They have a museum there with a lot of relics from Blackbeard the Pirate.
If you come to the UK I think you would love Horniman’s museum. It’s just outside London, Forest Hill. The Victorian gentleman had to buy another house to live in because of his obsessive collecting. Items are still being discovered at the museum. In the 90’s an entire glass and iron gazebo was discovered flat packed. It has been put together and now hosts weddings and social events at the museum. They have a web site if you are interested.
@@RebelRed Black, like skin color or...? Now I'm curious so off to google, later!
Sounds beautiful!
@@RebelRed Oh, thank you so much! I just might be a ding-dong.
Crime Museum, got it, looks amazing!
@@RebelRed Yeah! Has it settled into it's new home? I saw that some things have gone to the British Museum but I didn't get the dates or if the entire collection will be reunited, or if it already has. (got sidetracked)
Wow....very cool. Would luv to see it.
People used to use corn cobs for toliet paper i think
You are correct sir. When I was a child some 60 years ago, my grandparents had a cabin in the woods that was situated on a lake that we would spend weekends fishing there. With no indoor plumbing they had an outhouse and it was always equipped with either corn cobs or the Sears catalog. Kids think they got it rough now when they have no "bars" or phone chargers.
Shhhhh! Now they know, dangit!
Paul Feagans We sometimes always had to use catalogs for tp whenever we ran out of it. Not a very pleasant experience lol.
@@girlscanbedrummers5449 Sears and Roebuck! I heard about it from relatives, I'd love to see their reactions to Japanese hi-tech toilets.
yes @Jake-- talk about being REAMED OUT,,, gross
Wet specimens. I love taxidermy, but wet specimens are the stuff of nightmares. They look like zombies just waiting to happen!!
This was such a great vlog, I am from Western Australia Perth and we need more museums like this . Thank you for the time and energy you put in Jacob, And a big hello to, your lovely wife and daughter. Your daughter is such a beautiful girl , i really enjoy that you include your family on your travels . Take care Jacob and family .
2:36 yall see that flag???... okkkk..
*gags*
Thankyou so much for this Jacob. I love museums. In 1999 we took our kids around Australia for 5 months. I dragged my poor family through every museum we came across. If it wasnt for you, l would never see these little gems in America. Thanks again hun, lm grateful to you xx
All I could think about when you showed the jar of tiny snakes and the canned fish was what if those fell and broke? Wouldn't that just be awful? Getting that stink and slime all over you? Blech!
@@RebelRed promising but no 😂
@@marzkell 😂
Rebel Red I’d eat every jar for 100k
I don't think those were tiny snakes as he said. They are tape worms or some other parasite.
@@RebelRed I'd eat everything for the sheer ability to say to everyone that I ate 'Century Tuna' and mean it.
7:57 thats James Charles on crack 🤦♂️
I love how open-minded, compassionate and enthusiastic you are Jacob :) xx we need more people like you on RUclips xx
Ah yes; Belhaven. My third favourite composer after Boch and Showpan.
Lol....
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well, if I'm ever in belhaven I'm visiting that museum. Maybe everyday I'm there. Love obscura and curiosities!
Great job Jacob. I’m sure more people will come visit this amazing museum after your recommendation. My prayers and best wishes go to the strong spirited people of the Carolinas.
Please keep these great videos coming, I hope that one day I will drive around the country, seeing these unique attractions in person. Thank you Carpetbagger, I love watching your videos keep up the great work.
Thanks for going to all these unique, creepy and awesome places. I can’t get out much and I love museums & roadside attractions; I love watching your channel because I can see what the museums/attractions have without having to go there (although I wish I could go there)! Thanks Jacob!
That was awesome! I love stuff like that . I will put it on my list! Tks, Bagger!
Hi Jacob, what an awesome museum, it's not the type of museum you come across everyday and it was just so interesting. Thank you for sharing. x
YOU had no idea roadside attractions were even a thing...?! That is HARD to imagine... 😮
I always share your videos on my Facebook, but on this one I'm going to leave a specific note to check out this museum; it deserves more visitors. 👍
I’ve been here a few times and I can see it needs to be better taken care of. Not to knock the staff or town but I wish I lived closer to redo a lot of the info cards, dust and try to preserve some of the items better. I love going there. :). I was shocked to see it as a suggestion when I came on fb today. Thanks for the video!
I have had such a good time binge watching all your videos the last couple days. I love your unique style. I was going to put this on another video, but it just wasn't appropriate on that one.
Thanks for going to weird neat places and recording it !! I love the content
What a phenomenally eclectic museum! I love it and the story behind it too 😍
Interesting find....Good to see ya , Jacob!🙋

Very Cool...thanks Jacob. I got my 2nd POSTCARD this week! Thanks!!!
Youre the best man. I love what you do on this channel.
Great Channel, keep up the good work and amazing content......
Hi Jacob Thankyou for showing the most creepiest museums. It’s nice to a unique and interesting museu👍🏻😺
I just love how casual this place is. The scene where you didn't know if you wandered into a storage area or not was hilarious.
It seems so marked with destiny that your visit there come at that time. It seems significant to you as so much time, success and strife has passed since you first wanted to go as well as for them since they appreciated such an unexpected and special visitor when it might have seemed easier to just not bother opening that difficult day. So interesting.
I appreciate it
Yay!! I spent every summer in belhaven growing up . my grandma took me there several times. It is very strange! Glad to see you went somewhere i spent every summer.
Cool grandma! Mine lived nearby too, but if she was aware of this museum, she never told us. It wouldn't have been her thing. We went to the fossil festival and museum in Aurora a few times though. Not as cool.
Delightful museum ! Thanks for sharing one of the roadsides treasure's.They are fast disappearing .
Another fascinating museum Jacob. 😊 👍 👍
Dang, ive been watching your videos, and this blows my mind that you went to one of my childhood memories
I love the miniatures you went so fast it seemed.
What an amazing collection of this & that, from Australia
I really envy you brother being able to get to see these places in person thank you for sharing your experiences
Love the military collection.
childs coffin not casket. coffins have 8 sides including top and bottom caskets have 6
blackwater blades not always! Google it!
Coffins are body shaped caskets are boxes.watch ask a mortician if you want more on the differences and other death stuff
@@ayajade6683 I know the differences. Caskets are run of the mill, simple rectangles containing 6 sides. Coffins are closer to the shape of a body requiring 8 sides. 6 sides and 8 sides is the easiest and most common way they are classified and built. I watch her all the time, I have family in texas near her funeral home.
@@MegaLouise62 of course not always theres always oddballs and customs etc. Im talking about rule of thumb.
Also ima clearify, I was counting the bottom and lid as sides as well in the original comment, not sure why but yep
That was entertaining but relaxing lol thank you
Odd stuff for sure ... thanks for sharing
Love this and you !!
Love your video's! Greetings from the Netherlands
Nice find!
You have such an amazing channel
You are very under rated I love your content
Hey Jake!! You come up with the very coolest places!! At--8:35-- the chicken red glasses were put on the chickens so they could not see blood, that's what they were really for, and basically to help keep them from fighting. 😁
great vid as usual jacob
Weird place, but very interesting and video well done with information
I live here ! This is so so cool! If you are ever in eastern nc again let me know there are plenty of places that you have missed!!!
Jacob,
Thank you very interesting museum.
Thank you! I would go there! Love your videos!
There are lots of antique shops in my town. with strange little trinkets like the things in the vid. Especially old saws used for felling trees. (Snohomish is an old logging town) I’ve even spotted some antique prosthetic legs. I think you’d enjoy it. It’s known as the antique capital of the Pacific Northwest!
Thank god I discovered your channel ♡
This museum is a labor of love and never will make a lot of money. I hope it stays open and makes enough to survive. It is tough to prosper in a highly competitive world. Best wishes to them..
Love these kind of museums. 😊😊😊
Also I am definitely binging your channel
Wow! That's one awesome museum! Must go there one day.
😊😊😊
Wow I wrote my comment at the beginning. It is sad because when the decent people like that lady that are happy to donate their time and care are gone so to will be so much history. Keep up that good work Mr bagger. 👍🖐🇦🇺
Very cool, definitely will stop in if I am in the area.
Definitely creepy man much enjoyed
You have a cool job man 😎
I live in NC didn't know about this place thanks for letting me know. Will visit soon kewl man
I love these quirky museums❤
A cool place , enjoyed the video ...
3:40 im the world smallest doll
Lego: hold my bricks
Corncobs were actually used in outhouses when the Sears catalog ran out of pages...
I will visit when I am on that side of the state again! Awesome spot! I am going on a one week road trip, leaving from Western NC, and I would love some suggestions for some cool places to stop and see and great places to eat as well! Thanks!
www.atlasobscura.com/things-to-do/north-carolina/outsider-art
Also the Elsewhere Museum in Greensboro. www.goelsewhere.org/museum/visit/ Their site doesn't do it much justice.
My FAV Site...thanx!!!
Omg I live like 30 minutes from Belhaven, how neat!
Thank you for showing so many interesting things the lady has gathered. If I go to the USA I promise I Will visit it.
Cool collection for the lady.
I love you. I hope you are still sailing the highways for amazing delights to be charmed by or grossed out by. I tend to gravitate toward the macabre and the gothic myself.Anything unusual in treatments, or preservation of bodies. I'd love t see an early autopsy kit.I hope you're still going strong!
Hey bagger ! Have you ever been to Hartford CT if you like crazy stuff come through ct
I would love this video to have been a day long it was so good I'm in the UK so will never get to go but I just loved the story and the museum
Definitely adding it to my list of places to check out. Very cool collection! This storm is the storm that never ends it seems. Glad they are able to open. Most of us are just trying to do what we can to get life back to the new normal because it has been so long. As the saying goes come h#ll or high water, life goes on.
How do you find these places. Pretty amazing!
Do one on oregon house of mystery, oregon vortex in gold beach or gold hill oregon, cant remember which one.
Very cool man.
