- This week I'm able to present you the full Drive & Sound test of the brutal and super-new Mercedes-AMG C63 S doing 510 hp and 700 Nm of torque! A great Thank You to the guys from the Torpedo Garage (www.torpedo-gruppe.de) that made these 2 days possible! This particular C63 is the S-Model delivering the same power-output as the AMG GT S and is equipped with the optional AMG Performance Exhaust system. Many discussions have already been ongoing regarding the sound in comparison to the 6.2 V8, but I can only tell you that this car sounds phenomenal and not a bit less thrilling than the predecessor, honestly! Yes, the "old" V8 had a more metallic sound in the hight revs, but the grunt and bass (+Turbo whistle, Pops & Crackles) that this Twin-Turbo does is currently the best you can buy in this class! Exterior-wise the shown C63 S also has the Carbon Exterieur pack and from an interior perspective it features the "designo" Brown leather, gorgeous. I have had my 2015 C63s for about 6 months now and I am in love. Just got a tune added along with some downpipes and its a beast to drive.
How is it 1 year later

The more I listen to this, the more I start to like it. Now that I have listened to it with headphones on, I have started to really appreciate the sound it makes. Its got a nice growl and it pops ad bangs on gear changes. Sounds brilliant!

my brother was driving last night and we pull behind a c63 amg and my brother revs a few times and then the c63 did it back it sounded so amazing, we did a lil red light racing just for the hell of it, was a great time seeing and hearing it
This car is very good, Mercedes-AMG has worked hard and now we can enjoy this masterpiece. The engine itself, M177, sounds good and has a lot of power (510hp !!!). The car's chassis is said to be really improved from the previous generation of C63 (and i believe them, because it looks so much more dynamic), and the whole car is better than the old one, and maybe even better than its competitors...
Oh and the design... My god this car looks good. The baby S-Class approach is a very good thing for the C-Class, which is in fact better than it should. It looks way more refined and luxurious than it had to... Seriously i praise Mercedes for this beast.

AR 1 The more you grow up the more you realize that if you're not opened to all the things the world has to offer, but just focus on what you like, you're gonna have a bad time.
I made a great work on myself for that, and now i try to judge not just a single time but many.

It may be quicker than the w204 C63, however nothing comes close to level of violence in the sound of the 6.2. That has the most epic exhaust sound.

Ich muss sagen, dass mir der alte C63 doch deutlich besser gefällt.
Das Design war deutlich aggressiver und er hatte einfach mehr Präsens in meinen Augen.
Hinzu kommt, dass der Sound jetzt durch den kleineren Motor nicht mehr annähernd so brutal klingt wie noch zuvor mit dem 6,2l V8 (hab beide schon in Person gehört, jetzt nicht nur in deinen Videos).
Aber trotzdem wie immer ein sehr gutes Video!

Ive been in this kind of amg, and in real life it sounds much better, if you throttle it up a bit not even 1000 rpm you will already hear its crazy sound, love this amg
wow, BMW takes an approach of fine tuning with a bit of class with the new M and took what wasnt broken and actually broke it
MB simply broke it and rebuilt it and allowed the engine to shine and simply built around it. outstanding production model

I really think Mercedes-Benz out did themselves with all their new cars especially with their best selling one. Rivals and got nothing on this especially the BMW with it's fake ass engine sounds. Would like to thank Automann-TV for a wonderful video, keep it up.

AKF .gaming I mean that this V12 is known as not the most reliable engine and maintenance is ridiculously high.
It is just an very very old engine if I'm not wrong it is based on the naturally aspirated V12 engine of the W140 which is nearly 20 years ago.
And even with that monster engine you wont be faster then me :)

Ich hätte trotzdem nochmal eine Frage:
Mich interressiert bei diesem Auto nicht nur die Leistung, sondern auch der Verbrauch, dieser ist ja beim Alten V8 ein großes Thema gewesen...
Wäre es möglich dass du zu den Autobahnvideos auch noch kleine Verbrauchsclips einfügen könntest?
Z.b Verbrauch bei 80, 100, 130 KM/H?
Verbrauch haben wir nicht explizit und repräsentativ testen können, aber vom Gefühl her ist der Verbrauch sicher 2 Liter geringer im Alltag. Mit dem alten hatte man ja immer 12-13 Liter. Das mit den Verbrauchsvideos müsste man wirklich mal überlegen, wo der Momentanverbrauch natürlich je nach Wind und Straße sehr stark schwankt und daher auch nur bedingt vergleichbar ist. Der Gesamtverbrauch (Durchschnitt) über ein paar hundert Kilometer ist meist sehr Aussagekräftig...den schreibe ich dann immer mit in die Videobeschreibung.

They don't offer you that brown interior or a full carbon fiber exterior in the usa. why?
The M4 is not a bad car but BMW has completely failed putting emotions into the Car. The sounds are disappointing , the car has no soul . They couldnt find the sweetspot between V8 and Turbo.
Mercedes on the other hand did a brilliant job. Many people dont even realize that this is a bi-turbo.
Anyways, i would love to drive with this car on these roads, but there is a sign "70" , i think it stands for 70km/h , which iam sure you never exceeded .
ICEMANZIDANE The M4 has no soul ? A lack of emotions ?Have you seen one ? Not even being into or hear but just see one. To me it's the exact opposite: BMW has given to this car its soul back of its early era. It has an unique (and good) sounding engine, produces good power, has an awesome chassis, has a bonkers look (Tim Burton alias Shmee150 said it looks as good as some exotic supercars to him) , and damn that thing is the lightest (by quite far) in its category !
It is the less powerful yet the quickest (or almost). The M3/M4 are bonkers cars, they have plenty of personality, passion, and style, especially the ///M3 F80. I mean this thing is mad ! Just look at it ! It is nimble, quick, badass looking... While the M4 is the modern E46 the M3 F80 might be the modern E36 actually ! And that means this car is an awesome piece of engineering.

You can like it, i have nothing against it. How i said before its a good car. We have the same opinion on that ! But, like you see here what other people say, the car isnt as good as the old one. And yes it doesnt have eny emotions at all. I saw one and already had a chance to sit in one of them.
I have many BMW (M) friends, and even they admit that this is not what they had expected with the new M3/4.

Instead of arguing with other peoples comments, you should try to make your own opinion. Doesnt listen to other people, dont listen to me ! or to anyone else. Go and look for yourself. If you want, i can show you a comparison video about both cars , where the test driver says that the AMG wins by miles only because of the engine. Its a truth , they have destroyed the M3 with the new engine. For exmaple, someone above us commented on my first comment, he says that the new engine in the AMG feels like a real big V8.
This is what iam trying to say. Its a good car but not more.
ICEMANZIDANE I don't see what is bad about going back to the brand's heritage (with a straight six, the most common engine in an M3), but with a modern approach (turbos), while making the car more potent, more usable and easy to live with on the road. And people are making a whole lot of a drama for a sound but this car does sound good actually. I'm not saying it sounds better than the high revving V8 (which for some is the best sounding of them all) but that muscular R6 sound is pretty damn good actually, and 7.5k Rpm is nice (only E92 and E46 rev significantly higher).
Yes the AMG has an hand built and way more powerful V8 (remember that it's the C63S and not the basic C63 that everyone compares to the M3) but the new ///M3 has gone back to its roots: it's lighter, looks like a badass machine, has a sweet engine (dat throttle response tough), and a better quality than the previous one. And that's what the ///M badge is all about.
The F80 ///M3 is not only a "good car" it's on hell of a beast, and that's why it's still the benchmark today (yes it's still). Cadillac (upcoming ATS-V+) and Mercedes (the standard C63 has no chance keep that in mind) have to come with big 500+hp V8 to compete with it. Audi we don't know (the RS5 and RS4 don't even stand a chance against E92) , Lexus is not good enough, and Jaguar we don't know.
This one is already a beast showing how the segment will evolve going more on the light side of the thing, but with the GTS and the 2020 500hp (yeah 500hp straight six beast) even lighter (G20 ?) Electric turbos and water injection M3 (let's hope so) , the game will go even another step further.

Automann-TV Thanks for that. Still pretty impressive for the M4, given the 80hp difference. It was always going to be behind at higher speed. Will be interesting to see the track time comparisons.
which colour would you prefer for a C63? metallic black, matte white(milk white), matte black or matte gray. I think matte white would be porn on any mercedes with carbon roof.

Schönes Auto, finde den vom Sound her brachialer (vorallem bei niedrigeren Drehzahlen) als sein Vorgänger, auch wenns nur 4L Biturbo sind.
Klasse hingekriegt, die von AMG.
Vom Innendesign her ganz stark bis auf Kleinigkeiten wie das Navigationssystem, das aussieht als wäre es "hingeklebt" worden (meiner Meinung nach).
Was die Optik angeht, sieht schön aus aber finde es schade, dass jeder Mercedes jetzt wie eine "Mini-S-Klasse" aussieht.

Melvin Katz Uhh....this already has been a long discussion:) Of course the new C63 is better, in every aspect they have taken the performance, design, and even the sound, to another level. For all that are complaining about the sound I can only encourage you to compare the 4.0 TwinTurbo V8 and the former 6.2 V8 in real-life...and I hope my videos can give you rough estimation of those two cars feel. As an everyday car with serious Autobahn performance I would only choose the new one. If you are looking for a collectors cars that you only move a few days per year, then maybe the old one (especially the Edition 507) is the better choice :-)

Danke! Testfahrten sind teilweise sehr unrepresentativ, daher habe ich gar nicht auf den Durchschnitts Verbrauch geschaut. Ich denke im Alltag schluckt der mindestens 2 Liter weniger als der 6.2 Vorgänger.

why is the key in the ignition? mine came with the start button and i put the key in the drink holder and close the door.
Keyless entry and start is an option. and even when you have the keyless system you can remove the button and start the car with the key normally if you want.

My friend has a brand new one of these. It looks and sounds fantastic but it's constantly going wrong. I would say every month Mercedes lend him a car while his is in the workshop. I don't know what the problem is but I know he's pissed off about it. He had the old shape model before with no problems. If it was my car I would be going fucking nuts

EngineReport Tja was soll man sagen, ein nahezu perfektes Auto! Der Wagen wirkt extrem leicht und agil und ist dennoch sehr komfortabel abgestimmt, deutlich gutmütiger als der Vorgänger und auch der M3. Schaltet man dann aber auf Sport / Sport + wird das Fahrwerk extrem Kurvengierig. Überzeugt hat mich vor allem die Traktion an der Hinterachse, deutlich weniger nervös als der M3 der schon bei trockenem immer wieder mit dem Heck gezuckt hat.

very nice car - enjoy ,, makes the old one look out dated and very old espcially the enterior - im sucker for electronic toys and most importantly a sweat stereo, are you happy with the sound quality of the stereo system. old c63 stereo was shite
