Hi everyone! In anticipation of 2025, I wanted to share the colours of the year and our top tips for creating a curated and balanced colour scheme within your home. Looking forward to hearing which colour you love the most! xx
It depends on the use, the place, the moment and the mood. In winter, I need warm colours, such as yellow and camel. In summer, cooler colours avoid me to feel to much warm. For wearing, I prefer green. Anyway, the most important is to feel well. Happy Eve feast and happy New Year too.
Green is my favourite colour, so I have to have some green in nearly every room. I find it calming. I like lots of white and taupe, too. We have a small house, so we like to keep it light and fresh. I really enjoy seeing your table settings. They are always inspiring.
Green truly is such a soothing and refreshing colour, and it’s lovely that it’s a central part of your home. The versatility of different shades of green can bring so much warmth and calm to any space! I’m glad to hear it's one of your favourites too xx
What a lot of thought and curation to produce these videos. Very grateful for your efforts! And I am definitely another vote for Cinnamon Slate! I connected with it as soon as I saw it.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It truly means a lot to know that the effort put into the videos is appreciated. I’m so glad you connected with Cinnamon Slate-it’s such a beautiful, rich colour that adds depth and warmth xx
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Terra-cotta, green, and burgundy are such rich, warm colours that can create a really inviting and sophisticated atmosphere. xx
I love the deep olive toned greens and also many shades of blue to complement my otherwise neutral base color of various creams and tans. Previously I had struggled for years to find what I would enjoy long term and this channel has helped me understand the science of color, curation and style. Thank you for this video-I never miss one and rewatch many!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment Kim! Deep olive greens and shades of blue sound like a stunning combination against a neutral base-they bring so much depth and harmony. xx
This truely is the most fabulous & & informative video I have ever watched before thank you for your beautiful talent Susie I am always excited when you have a new vedio looking forward to the second part of this one 😊
Thank you so much for your lovely words! I’m truly touched by your appreciation. It makes me so happy to know that you find the videos both fabulous and informative. xx
I'm all about warm neutrals (love your modern rustic video!), especially terracotta and lighter colors that complement it. Also pale earthy brownish- pink. Basically, colors of the American Southwest, which include blues and greens as accent colors. I love the idea of using a neutral base palette and changing accent colors seasonally with pillows, candles, flowers, etc. I think a black paint that reads warm can be great, too with lots of warm neutrals from wood and natural fabrics. 😊
Thank you for your lovely comment! Your colour palette inspired by the American Southwest sounds beautiful-warm neutrals, terracotta, and earthy tones with seasonal accent colors are such a great way to refresh a space xx
Hi Suzie! Happy Blessed New Year, dear! ❤ Cinnamon Slate. I've been teetering the idea of a brownish purple paint for a couple of years, although haven't done. May do, but more money that considers, within the room. Thank you for sharing!
Happy Blessed New Year to you as well Gina! ❤ Cinnamon Slate is such a unique and beautiful colour-it has that perfect balance of warmth and depth. I completely understand the hesitation when it comes to committing, especially when budget is a consideration. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I’m excited for you to experiment with colours that inspire you! 😊 xx
Thank you for another year of beautiful and inspiring videos Suzie. I always look forward to each one, and have borrowed many ideas for use in my client's homes, as well as my own.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support throughout the year! It means the world to know that the videos have inspired you and provided ideas for both your clients' spaces and your own. xx
I retired and moved to the country, and green seems to go so well in this home! Thanks for all your great videos during the year, much appreciated! Happy New Year! Cheers from Canada
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing a bit about your journey! Green sounds like the perfect choice for a home in the country-it’s so grounding and connects beautifully with nature.xx
Happy New Year Suzie and team from Rural France. 2025 is going to see another change for me, I have now put my house on the market here so my focus this coming year is to change homes and focus on my garden where ever I may end up. Thank you for all of your wonderful vlogs, they are always such a joy. Best wishes to you all for 2025, Regards from Plessala France.😊
Happy New Year from Sydney Kim, and thank you so much for your warm wishes! How exciting that 2025 is bringing a new chapter for you with a change of homes and a focus on your garden! Wishing you all the best in this transition, and I’m so happy to hear that the vlogs have brought you joy. Best wishes for 2025 from all of us here, and warm regards to you in Plessala, France! xx
I found this video immediately interesting and informative, also thought provoking. I find it interesting that I’m far more drawn to a warm color palette, especially the terracottas, but my favorite color is blue. 🤷♀️
Love muted neutral shades with jewel coloured pieces. I find too much terracotta can give a pink look but blended well can be a stunning look. Some browns can be nice but care is needed in my opinion as they can give off drab or a muddled look. Thanks so much for another fabulous video. Happy new year x
Thank you for sharing your thoughts-I couldn’t agree more! Muted neutrals paired with jewel tones create such a rich and balanced look. I completely understand your point about terracotta and browns-they do require a thoughtful touch, but when used well, they can truly shine xx
I live on the west coast of Canada on Vancouver Island. We have a long grey and rainy fall, winter, and Spring. We recently moved into a home with that very dark, almost khaki green. It was incredibly depressing. My husband painted the house in Crisp Linen by Behr. Our mood improved immediately. I accented with blue and white. It’s a counterpoint to what’s going on outside.
It’s amazing how much the right colours can transform a space and your mood! I can completely understand how a dark khaki green in a grey, rainy climate might feel heavy, but Crisp Linen sounds like a perfect choice to brighten and lighten things up! xx
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I feel truly blessed to have you as part of this community. Your kind words mean so much-thank you for watching and being here xx
Can't say I like the boucle, puffy sofas and chairs. They already look dates to me. But liking the terracotta. In the end, I'm going for soft warm off-whites in my space, with deeper colours of rust red in the cushions and accents.
I thought the boucle would be nice for winter and tried some throws first, thinking I could make slipcovers if I liked them. Stick tights and burrs are impossible to remove from it. We’re in the country and they cling to any one of us that ventures off the cut trail.
They do have a very specific look that may not suit everyone's style, especially as trends evolve. It sounds like your choice of soft warm off-whites with rust red accents will create a stunning, warm, and inviting space xx
Absolutely! The beauty of using interchangeable colours is that they allow you to easily adapt your space to reflect the changing seasons. Whether it’s soft neutrals for winter, vibrant hues for summer, or earthy tones for autumn, you can create a fresh atmosphere with minimal effort. xx
I completely agree with you-lighter walls really do enhance natural sunlight and create a bright, airy atmosphere, especially with the addition of mirrors! xx
I love white, our walls and ceiling are painted in chalk. Funny as I’m now in my 60’s I look at all the colours and think yep I had either walls or furniture painted in those colours.
Same age range, but no white for me. Had enough of that during the rental phase of our life. Same white was on the walls at the nursing home and senior apartments of my parents. I’ll wait till then.
Had to think about your question for a while. I don’t believe there is one color that “resonates” with me enough to consider “color drenching” a room with it. They all have merit and I enjoy a variety TOGETHER like a field of wildflowers or a blooming high country desert. Hues of natural greens cannot be beat. Sky colors of ultramarine and cerulean blues, with quinacridone yellow, oranges, magenta and violets are a natural choice as well. Even white, in nature has so much hue and value variability. Why pick just one!?
You have more than one room, I hope. You can add different colors with furniture and accessories, rugs, etc. Sometimes color drenching is just right for the space. I like your embrace of all colors!
I love your thoughtful response! Your approach to embracing a variety of colours together is beautiful. The way you’ve described the colours of nature-greens, blues, yellows, oranges, and even the subtle hues of white-captures such richness and depth :) xx
It does seem as though the trends are shifting towards warmer tones and more vibrant colours. That said, grey is still a versatile and timeless choice for many, so it really depends on your personal style and what resonates with you xx
I love navy colours, yellows and some greens. I hate, hate all, shades of gray! So,sick of them and beiges. I also don’t like much in wallpapers. I do,think that whites with navies or blacks with pops of lovely yellows are soothing. That’s just me! Thank you for these videos.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! It’s wonderful that you’ve discovered a palette that feels soothing and uplifting for you-navy, yellow, and green are such striking combinations. xx
This is exactly why a new range comes out annually...for new home buyers, people wanting a change, most browns are quite warm, so if you live in the tropics you wouldn't go there, there's a colour for everyone, isn't it wonderful we're not all the same nor have the same taste!?
I agree. Everything about "trends" is to make us feel outdated and in need to spend money so we can be "current". How about choosing colors that speak to each individual.
@@janmorgan8478lol why do you think they are in business Colour is very personal and subjective to some chestnut brown is stunning And we all move with seasons also companies make changes years before we are navigate to them
“Greens and earth tones” shows a magnolia coloured room. “Warm neutrals” shows a series of white rooms. “Energising brights” shows a white room with large bold painting AND a room with pastel green walls and a lot of white. Really? How stupid do we have to be?
I welcome constructive criticism but kindly ask that it remain thoughtful and considerate. If you watch the examples, you'll notice a consistent use of earth tones or shades of green-whether in the paint, decor, or textiles. Similarly, the other examples reflect these principles. I trust my audience’s intelligence and creativity to adapt these principles and examples to suit their own style and preferences :)
I'm failing to see how these "trend" colors can be used when virtually all of your examples are predominately based on white, gray, pale blue, pink and pale green. Throwing one object that uses an "on trend" color into a design is not inspiring - it's the same old, same old "safe" crap we've been seeing for decades.
@ maybe I was rude but she was complaining about “the same old same old crap” and I thought if she did like the video she didn’t have to be rude, she could just move on and find something more to her taste.
Thank you for sharing your perspective, and I truly appreciate your honesty. I understand your frustration with seeing similar design trends repeatedly, and I agree that simply adding one trendy item to a space doesn’t always create an inspiring transformation. However, it can still be a great way to introduce freshness and style to the home without committing to large furniture pieces, full wall treatments, or textiles, which may not always be an option for everyone.
Hi Beverly, just to clarify, the ones mentioned are indeed actual colours. If you're looking for more detailed colour options or suggestions, feel free to watch other videos in our colour series playlist.

The mocha color that is everywhere, I think is fabulous.
I like the Terra cotta and stone colors. Reminds me of natural walls in nature.😊
I love those warm, earthy tones too! They bring a real sense of grounding and connection to nature xx
Especially in a California Spanish revival
I’ve had my bedroom walls a terra cotta color for 17 years. I’ve never tired of it.
