I used HPM for this play through merely because it keeps things a little more realistic and I like that.

I always do in the endgame when playing as strong nation. You can add as many casus-beli as you want, since there are truces after Great Wars, you can just annex whole empires without fear of immediate repercussions. Then you simply kill your ennemies in your mountain forts, get tons of war score and then annex everything.

Ottoman Empire in vanilla Vic 2 is overpowered though. You can gobble up uncivilized countries all the way to India, gobble Arabia, colonize Africa when the time comes

@Вхламинго Other then how RGOs were handled I prefer Vic2 in almost every way. But Vic Revolutions was definitely a great game it just feels so clunky and dated in certain aspects and Vic2 fixed all of its problems

You forgot to max taxes
You could have been #1 if you focused on writting poems. Poems are the best. I ended up #1 great power as California by just making some sick rhymes. But to be honest, Paradox games aren't really about being #1 great power as much as having fun.
But in case of Vic2, a lot fun (colonization, Crisis, Ease of industrializing, etc) started by being at least a Secondary Power or GP.
Being an underdeveloped or uncivilized nation is a pain in Vic2. Just ask Ottos or Spain.
@@hanselsihotang The most fun I had was by playing minor nations and rising up as great power. Canada and Australia for instance, are weak nations that can rise to conquer the world.
@@MichaelDavis-mk4me playing minor and uncivilized-westernizing nations is also fun. The painful kind of fun, but fun in the end nonetheless. Some nations like Brazil, Egypt, Persia or Korea had great potential to be a fun campaign, but unlocking it was difficult and painful.
I played HOI4 and EU4 and I know them lil bit. How's VIC2 compared to them?
Personally I find Vic2 to be the best out of Paradox's games because you can actually do stuff when your not in war. Build industry, sphere people, pass reforms, idk. There's just a lot more to do which I enjoy.
