One of the most OP unit ever in the SRW series! Oh how I love using Great Zeorymer in SRW J. ^_^

I never thought the series had an ambiguous ending, the kid's evil side was gone and Meioh never damaged Zeorymer when he used it before, so I assumed it was just taken as read he kills all of Hau Dragon and pimp stepped out.
My two favorite mecha youtubers collaborating. Neat. This was a long way coming, even thought I would have never imagined it being about Zeorymer of all things. Maybe I'll finally check it out.
It would be cool to see a Mecha Talk on the Diebuster OVA. I love the Buster Machines and Diebuster's such an underrated gem

I'd also like to try adding a few tidbits about SRW J involving Zeorymer having seen this. Turns out a portrait of Miku's android form exists in the game data(it can be seen in the debug menu), but is never used in the story and the game just glances over the fact she was ever an android, instead referring to her as a clone-sibling; Seemingly combining traits of the manga into the OVA storyline as she's still very much an integral component of Zeorymer and Great Zeorymer.
... Also, yeah, Great Zeorymer is so OP that I decided to just stick with the regular Zeorymer as much as possible. The detail being that, for some odd reason, it loses the one Melee attack it had along with its Combo variant, meaning you either always hit one target, or hit EVERYTHING around you; Also, I happen to like doing the One-Two-Uppercut attack whenever I can anyway.
MrMarket1987 The Layzner Mk. 2 is way more useful anyway, and that way you dont have to sacrifice Gai.
Oh, well, if you wanna get into game details, yeah, it's overall more beneficial to other mechs and characters to go for their stuff in Layzner's routes than Zeorymer's since you can get just about everything BUT Great Zeorymer. Regarding the MkII though... It bugs me that you give up on the Calf Missiles for it. Like, yeah, it's faster and more powerful with an L Anti-beam coating, but it still means losing on the one little bit of range it does have when being attacked from a distance as neither V-MAX nor the Beam Rifle reach very far by default, on top of there being little to no reason for losing it when even vanilla Layzner gets it eventually anyway.
MrMarket1987 While that is very much true, I think it at least gives me an excuse to use both the Buldy and the Baybull a lot more, supporting both from close and afar to the Layzner...
Am I the only who actually took these two into the final stage, maybe? I just like Layzner that much. Dont know if other people actually view them as useful or not.
To be fair, Baybull and Buldy piloted by David and Rutherford are the only way one may do the Team attacks with Layzner too, but most of the Layzner units are understandably mediocre or kinda boring to use. Melee + Beam Rifle is about all the player units can do except for Buldy who is the only one with any real variety aside from the Calf Missiles and the V-MAX attacks. It's a shame the enemy units of the same series come with more flavor... Been considering doing a run with at least one or two of them using a Bullgrenn through codes for a change.
By the way, I did try, but no special attacks happen if you have both Julia and Gale with their Kaisers on the field. They're great each, but suffer from the same mediocre mech options... Interestingly, they do actually have Love bonuses with one another, so it was probably intended for them to be both obtainable at the same time in development.

Awesome video as always :D. I love Zeorymer , i discovered him thanks to SRWJ. Yes Great Zeorymer he is OP in that game but i discovered how powerfull it was only during my 4th playthrough , since i only used Mazinkaiser for defeat every enemies and Bosses in the other ones XD

Great Zeorymer would easily beat the Mazinkaiser though, and the Kaiser could most likely temporarily disable the regular Zeorymer.

Something about Zeorymer, and the other 7 mechs from the OVA has always intrigued me. I've watched the whole OVA on youtube years ago, and I thought that it sucked. However; I really liked the designs of the mechs, and the fact that their powers where based on the elements.
While I thought the OVA wasn't all that good, Zeorymer has managed to become one of my favorite mecha for it's design and power.

I left out MX mainly because it didn't add anything major unlike J which added Great Zeorymer.

Zeorymer wouldn't appear in another crossover game until Iron Saga, while Iron Saga is not one of the greatest games out there with it relying heavily on Gacha for both pilots and mechs; Zeorymer (Heaven version), Hau Dragon, and Omzack would appear in a collab event, this would allow players to obtain the three mechs, with the original Zeorymer dropping later in an update.
Heavenly Zeorymer, Hau Dragon, and Original Zeorymer would also get retrofits, making Heavenly Zeorymer into the Great Zeorymer, Hau Dragon into Hau Dragon X, and original Zeorymer into Zeorymer G. Omzack would also get a retrofit, but it doesn't do much for it unfortunately.
The pilots, Miku and Masato, would also appear in the Iron Saga collab with Miku being a free pilot once reaching 3000 Research Progress while Masato can be recruited in the bar, but you have to be lucky if he shows up and you'll need to get his affection to 60 in order to recruit him completely.
Coming back to this video years later to hear about Zeorymer's size and weight again for reference, I got a funny detail about SRW J regarding Great Zeorymer's damage output. Despite it being a secret upgrade of arguably one of the most powerful mechs in the whole series and Mecha genre in general, and it's Infernal Hades having the highest non-combination move Power stat and MAP variant in that game, it's still beaten in overall single damage output, even by a just a little bit, by the following which are all part of the normal storyline all on their own:
Mazikaiser KS, Final Dancouga, and 150Will Arbalest. Mazinpower, Instinct/Aggresive Mode, and Lambda Driver make those seemingly weaker mechs edge out the monster that is Great Zeorymer. As honorable mentions, Great Mazinger (blue) and Granteed Dracodeus with Festenia as a subpilot for the boosted attack power come pretty damn close.

@@findantu Combo attacks are kinda cheating though. They are by default some of the very strongest moves in the game. Even the Aestivalis ones deal severe damage.

Could it be that the Valsion's made by Dr. Bian are a homage to Zeorymer? of course a Valsion is a joke compared to it, but the though tanky look as well as how the cross smasher is fired and the graviton wave kinda destroys everything like the Meioh. This is just a hunch it's kind a faraway resemblance I get.
You might actually be correct. The Valsion also has a sphere in its centre as well.

When are you gonna do DemonBane ? I love that mech a lot.
When I have the time and experts to help me. That one requires playing the games (some of which are not in English), watching the anime and reading the novels (again, not translated).
Okay, then what are you gonna do next ?? If you want demonbane every info then go to Vsbattleswiki. They have a lot of Demonbane expert over there. Trust me, they do.
The only novels you really need for Demonbane is Kishin Taidō and Gunshin Kyōshū; they are translated. I actually have them on my PC if you'd like them.
Also, Nitroplus Blasterz's true story tells some stuff about Vortex Blaster Demonbane.
I myself have played/read the first VN and have taken a hiatus on the second one (using machine translations) so I basically know everything but that one.

Hi. You forgot to cover the Zeorymer Omega manga which is strictly related to the original. In my opinion it should at least have been mentioned if not discussed. Also, the personality emerging in the end is neither completly Masaki nor Masato, but rather a mix of the 2, resulting in the protagonist having an identity crisis at the end. Lastly I feel SRW MX should have been mentioned since it has yet another finale for the story.
A) Except that I did not forget. I chose not to since I plan to cover it by itself in a separate video.
B) Its not simply a mix. Masato clearly became the dominant personality with some traits of Masaki's confidence and such after their identity crisis.
C) I would have been repeating myself if I included MX and it brought nothing new to the table when it comes to Zeorymer's powers unlike J

B) When I watched the video and read the manga, I had the impression that it was a completely new individual with a strong identity crisis due to the conflicting memories inside of him. But, seeing as how things turned out in SRW MX, you are probably right.
C) Well, powers and abilities wise, I have to agree. The interesting spot in MX is the story though, considering the link that was given to Zeorymer with the Evangelion and Raxephon plots. Minor deficency anyway. You did a great job on the video as it is. ;)
Zeorymer has the potential to be good, but damn was it too short.
SaberMacro Zerorymer got hit hard when the bubble economy popped in 1990. The final two episodes of the OAV suffered from noticeably lower budgets and barely crawled to the ending at all versus being cancelled. The real enemy of Zerorymer wasn't Haudragon but instead the beginning of the lost decade.
