I really appreciate how in depth you talk through your decisions; like at 46:58 how your opponent's choice of tapping lands gives you information about what could be in their hand. It's a real level up for me
I want to say I believe in you, but I think that OmniShow matchup really shows how hard it is to trophy. A lot of it is about luck when you're already a really good player on a decent deck - you did everything in your power and it just didn't matter because you couldn't find a Force of Will.
Yea, when it comes down to it, the absolute best players in the world have a 60-65% win rate in tournament play. Even a 4-1 is an 80% win rate in a league; a 5-0 requires some amount of good luck no matter the deck
I love Armageddon, but that seems win-more in this deck. It's more or less only good if you can untap with a planeswalker in play against an empty board, and those games you're usually winning anyway. So it more or less only does something in games in which you're already winning. Now, back to basics and leaning heavy on basics, that might be interesting -- because the kills people even if you can't untap with a planeswalker on an empty board.
I love those Ichormoon Gauntlet gauntlet control videos, also every game was so remarkable, going back from 1 life out of nowhere, going from "How do I deal with this Grist" to ultimating t4feri, I know how it is to deal with a delve/spellslinger deck and being dead despite being with a rip, also KAKAW!
I definitely think the problem with prologue is that for it to win you have to proliferate 9 times and in order to do that you either need a lot of walkers or a lot of turns. If you have a lot of walkers youre already going to win just by the sheer amount of value youre generating, and if you have a lot of turns youre reached stability long enough that you have time to find another way to win. Its just a win more card, it only does stuff when youre already winning
I think you mentioned Gideon dying to Grist in round 4, but he gains indestructible. I might have missed the context, but perhaps better than anticipated in that spot? Fun series BTW!! Loving it! 🎉
Interesting that you can't put in any permanent card from show and tell. They had that technology for Eureka, but then didn't really generically allow you to select any permanent card again until Wargate in 2009
Doubling Season is a classic Walkers card, but it's generally restricted to Commander because that's the only place where you can play a 5-mana enchantment that doesn't do anything on its own and not just get jumped immediately. I guess if you can really slow the game down you might find the time, but Ichormoon being 3 versus 5 is big.
At 46:15 G2 against delver, you decided to plow the bowboi and then play narset into daze given the information that you weren't dazed the previous turn and they probably dont have it, but regardless you'd prefer plow to resolve over narset. At the time of viewing my thought was perhaps we play Celestial Purge to exile BowBoi and pass as purge is conditional removal. You ended up losing the game because you had Marches in your hand instead of the plow. Looking back on it, do you think you'd make that same decision again?
Ending is tough in a 2 color deck. It's better on turns 1 and 2, then worse as the game goes long, which is the opposite of March. And games will go long.
@@BoshNRoll for some reason I thought there was a volc in this deck for sideboard pyroblasts, none of that is the case lol. Yeah prismatic ending is much worse in 2 color decks
It completely fails without FOW and Swords. Modern just to fast for this deck, titan/rino/zoo/yawg/creativity just run you over. This deck preys on midrange and non-creature combo, modern all about tempo and creature combo.
Does the challenge say poison has to be part of the deck? Or could you have some other proliferate-related win con like just ultimate a planeswalker? Could the "proliferate win con" slot that's currently Prologue to Phyresis just be something like Teferi, Hero?
Agreed: Prologue to Phyresis is cute but should almost certainly be some other card. Games in which you can proliferate 9 times are games that you almost certainly will win anyway. Other than that, really fun deck.
You generally don't want cards that are meh, and only become good (but not immediately game-winning) if you draw them alongside another card. Although sure, it's a fun combo.
At 20:02 an idea would have been to brainstorm in response to make sure emperor doesn’t die to a swords which they did end up having or even trying to cast two noncreature spells to get around punishing fire then letting gauntlet die
If I was the the sponsor you'd risk invalidating in game three. The ask was to play on your original idea from a year ago. With the removal of all prologues and two icho, you are basically just running azorious super friends flexing 2 icho for 2 undoing rather than infinite turns poison win, i.e. "let me play a real deck, slot a icho in the flex and rules lawyer the terms and conditions"
Wild you’d think I’m just doing whatever without speaking to the donor. THEY told ME the important part is the gauntlet and not the poison and I should cut the prologues. Find something fake to be mad at somewhere else.
So, in your words: If YOU were the sponsor. You are not the sponsor. The sponsor said it was fine, therefore the deck is fine. It wouldn't have gotten past construction if the sponsor wasn't cool with it. If you don't like the current decklist, submit your own, pay Bosh, and then you can make comments that are relevant when your opinion isn't currently.
@@Jordan-dg8tp Actually it got past construction just fine hence my comment on round three where it's no longer the deck it was. But i get it man, you are the sort that takes an existing meta archtype, changes one flex card and calls in a brew. It's a common delusion.

I think you had six mana up when the murktide was down in g2, and you played gauntlet. If rhat was the case, you couldve marched pitching march and exiled the 7mana murktide. I didn't watch it back yet rhough, so i may be wrong about you having 7 mana at that point
Moxfield has a comparison feature that shows just the changes. Might be cool for situations like this

For real!
watching Emperor go to town in legacy never gets old, love it

Another fun combo for a walkers build is doubling season. I've been messing with that on arena and it goes nutty. Great content as always 👏 ❤

Round 4 at pick your poison you could have played dress down to remove your flying. No mana up for it, but it would have been a crazy interaction
R1G2, I was really hoping to see dark depths crack just for you to dress down/supreme verdict on their turn haha
I had been wanting to play an Ichormoon Gauntlet deck with Magistrate’s Scepter.
46:10 you could have purged the bowmaster instead. (To answer your question from end of round 3)
40:57 should go in the clips compilation for sure.
Force of Veil, pitching Narset, Parter of Wills
Really want a modern version 😂
Also think days undoing could be good with narset. I was first hypped with the poison win but it s actually Bad , 😅
