Zelnyair I can see that, and you're right in how he does the same thing in every role. Personally, I don't mind his performances, but he could try to put more variety into them.

The blue alien designs do... but the story is miles away from that clever antihero twist. Still, there were some clever parts to this film. It falls flat only because it uses too many cliches similar to how the Emoji Movie feels like a rehash of Inside Out and Wreck-It Ralph.
I was just about to ask the same thing. If The Emoji Movie ripped off Wreck-it Ralph and Inside Out, then Escape From Planet Earth ripped off Planet 51 and Megamind. These are the movies you make when you want to steal as many things as possible. January 27, 2020, 10:49am
You want a good movie/franchise with creative alien designs, watch the Lilo and Stitch franchise. The 626 experiments are quite creative and appealing to look at based on what their powers are. Or, play the Ratchet and Clank games. They’ve got some cool aliens as well.
The masochist in me kind of wants to gather up the worst movies you've reviewed, such as: Hoodwinked Too, Escape From Planet Earth, Nut Job, Planes etc , marathon them and look at them from a critical viewpoint to see how I should AVOID making my writing
You might watch Ratchet and Clank too. I am not saying it's bad, per se, but they somehow found a way to make a great video game seem forgettable. But I will at least say the final act was pretty cool.
I felt you were a bit too harsh on the animation. I will most certainly agree that the designs are very generic, but the character animation is still very expressive and nicely rendered. Over I'd give the animation a 6.
Agree and like he said that the animation is good and could've given the animation a 6/10 but the reason he gave the animation a 4 is because of designs that's it.
@@pcgproductions531At least the animation in that film isn’t as cheap looking as Winx Club: the Mystery of the Abyss. The textures look too stiff and plasticky to be considered worthy of a movie in “theaters”. Even Gladiators of Rome, a movie by the same company as this, had slightly better animation than this. Not to mention that Mystery of the Abyss doesn’t even bring us into any interesting new places. I mean, we’ve seen the infinite ocean in Season 5, we’ve seen Alfea and gardenia in CG in previous films, we’ve seen it all. The closest things to new worlds in the movie are the cube filled Oblivion dimension, and a cavern, and none of them are as interesting as they sound, let alone serve any purpose to the story. Speaking of the infinite ocean, some of the animation was actually recycled from Season 5’s CGI segments taking place underwater.
i love your style of reviewing! it's loud, but comforting... funny, yet subtle... informative, with no rambles... i want to hear what you have to say when you speak! that's such a rare thing these days.

OH NO!!!!! THEIR MAKING THE RATCHET AND CLANK MOVIE!!!!!!! MY CHILDHOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hopefully the original writers of ratchet and clank whip them into shape
Its very cliche, predicatable and generic, but I do like it for it's light-hearted nature. Animation was'nt that bad either to me. Yeah sure they could use some work on the story, script and maybe even the designs, but they do give a comedic take on the Area 51 conspiracy and where technology came from.
Product placement almost always ruins an animated movie. Well, with the obvious exception of Wreck-It Ralph, which promoted Nesquik and Subway, but was still awesome.
You wanna know the one truly hilarious thing about this movie is? There was only one kid in the theater I went to see this at and he didn't laugh at a single joke in this entire thing. He just sat there in stunned silence. Yeah, even the recurring gag involving that janitor farting every time he fell on his back (to which I always instinctively whispered 'Seriously?') didn't so much as crack a smile from this kid. That's pretty bad when a fart joke doesn't get a laugh out of a child.
It’s fascinating they manage to make an alien movie so boring. Besides there’s plenty of sci Fi animated films I’ll stick with. Great review by the way.
You are most likely aware that Rainmaker entertainment is making two animated movies based on two Playstation video games. Which are the Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper movie.
I don't know, I get the feeling the designers were a lot more creative than the writers. Not saying much though. Props to the voice actors, though, they did a pretty good job with what they were given.
The Prison Aliens are named Professor Thurman who is the 3 eyed 4 armed slimy alien voiced by George Lopez Io who is the giant red 1 eyed alien with anger issues voiced by Jane Lynch and Doc is the chinchilla-like alien voiced by Craig Robinson
The frustration I gain from this was mainly that I trace this as a Planet 51 plot, yet my associates exclaimed I nitpicked too much of the flick and that it's an original idea when placed to films I seen as 1.0's or leave as a basic rip off. Not only that, but I knew one friend who came to this conclusion despite his class saw it as another film instead of being considered a copy cat.

Ugh, just look at those character designs...that's where the rewrites should have been going on.
Hey Tennelle I love your videos!
Looking at Scorch's design, I almost expected him to be voiced by Patrick Warburton.
HUGE missed opportunity now that you say that. That would've been perfect casting and it would have been much funnier.
Leopold Litchenstein I know, right? Seriously, everything about Scorch just rings Patrick Warburton! Not just his design, but his personality as well.
Drawtoonz Studio I agree. He works really well with the material he's given. He could've even saved it a little bit.
