I just wanna say thank you. Not a lot of bowlers that do ball reviews are not as transparent as you are about how you throw the ball ( missing and what not) and even the lane conditions. I think we all appreciate a honest ball review.
Coming back into the game after 7 years away due to health problems so my goals are 1. Get my average over 200 (when I left I was 215-220, currently in 190's) and 2. Play in a bunch of tournaments to just really savor that I'm back into my favorite sport after being gone too long. 2 tournaments this weekend!
Update: bowled 674 scratch and my partner was also over his average, we ended up tied for #1. Side issue looking for advice: turns out the tournament runners changed our handicap after first posting the score where we were winning by 3 to us being tied and we lost tiebreaker costing us hundreds of dollars . We can now prove our handicap was accurate. How can we dispute this? Can this be a complaint with usbc?

I returned to bowling after a 15 yr layoff, I've been relearning everything for the past 3 months. I'm starting a league in a couple of days, I finally feel comfortable in my game once again.
I was chatting with my neighbor Canuck Clay and he recommended to check out this channel. It's been approx 20 years since I've last bowled, but watching these videos has revived some interest in bowling. I think my 2022 goal will be to visit the JR Proshop for a new ball
I have been out of the game for a long time. Just came back about a month ago. My goal for 2022 is to just get comfortable on the lanes. Get my timing and rhythm back. Then, I make my climb to the top. My goal, get back in a league and total bowling world domination!
Storm had one of those test events at my bowling alley. Got to use the Nova, X2, and Helios. The Helios and Nova are insane. There were so many other balls I wanted to use but I had to clock in. Had the front 7 with the Nova.
New ball for me (first in 20 yrs) is the Hammer Black Widow Ghost Pearl. I've always been a hammer head ever since I got my first bowling ball. Goals this year are to start back up in league play and maybe get on a scratch league. I haven't bowled seriously in about 15-20yrs so it'll be an adventure for sure. Good review!
I have a few different goals for 2022. I've only been bowling for a couple of years and only have one strike ball, which is old and outdated compared to the newer bowling balls that have come out over the past couple of years. Goal #1 is to get a better, slightly stronger, more updated ball. Goal #2 is to continue to work on my approach and delivery. Which leads into goal #3, more consistent shots and higher scores! My personal best is a 214, not sure what my average is, but I want to start getting more 200+ game scores. 😁 Great video btw! All these new bowling balls coming out only makes my wish list longer and longer lol
Well my goals have been set, I have been picked junior national team and I’m looking to improve my average, I’ve only been bowling for 3years now and I cannot ask for anymore as this is amazing how far I’ve come as a new bowler
My pro shop got it early and drilled it in time for my last game in league last night. 223 with an open frame in the 4th. It was really aggressive on the friction so I stood on 31 with eyes at 26 and took me 4 frames to get lined up(I'm not very good :D). Ended with 7 strikes and a spare after the open frame. It worked great for me, smells good, and is absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to get some practice in with it!
I just bought the spectre and it's a fantastic 3rd game ball. It still gets down lane far even when it's a bit burned up. My arsenal: Rubicon and Rubicon UC2, Spectre, and my old Storm Super Natural. I normally use the Super Natural for a spare ball; but there are times where I have to pull it and use it as a strike ball if the lanes are "on fire" due to break down

1st year bowling under my belt and rolling in the new year with Ghost Pearl, Purple Hammer, and Omega Crux. I also have the Pyriamid Blood Moon Rising and Pathogen X2 with an old 2001 Blue Hammer. Goal of getting my first 300 and avg 205+ this year

My goal is to bowl some tournaments - starting this weekend at my local alley with a 4 game sweeper on our house shot. Interested in doing counties too, whenever they're announced, but need a crew and I don't have one set right now.
I've got a few goals this year. I want to end my current league with a 200+ average. I'm hovering around 190 right now. The other goal is the throw a 300 before I turn 30, with will be Christmas Eve of this year. And as always, just generally improve my game over-all. We'll see how it goes!

Getting my Spectre punched up next week. Needed a new pearl sym in my bag for later in the block. Was torn between this, the Hyped Pearl or the Wolverine. The Spectre out of the three in a demo session gave me the best length, shape and continuation for my personal tastes. As for goals, just take the time on my days off to practice more. I've been a little lazy lately, so I need to get motivated and put the work back in on the lanes.
Just got a fast pitch and hyroad pearl probably add dark code and zen as well. Goals are finish season strong get over 210 both leagues and make cashiers round in tournaments this summer
My 2022 goals are to bowl a 300, get my first ever 700+ and to average 200 or better. I also plan on bowling in a few tournaments just to see how i would do. Been working on my fame for the past 5 years after a 25 year absence from the sport. Being almost 52 years old, I think I'm still athletic enough to accomplish these goals.
2022 goals. I have gotten handfuls of 600 and 700 series. Highest games being 280,285,289,290. Goal is to get my first 300 and 800 series. This will be going into my 3rd year of bowling
The difference I see is that the Spectre with R3S seems to read the oil a little better. Have been told the cover on the Wolverine is basically R2S which would make sense seeing these side by side and the subtle difference between them.
Just started bowling 9 weeks ago. My goal is to just continue learning and improving. Current 6 ball arsenal is: Incite, rst x-2, hy-road max (shiny), hustle RAP, hustle Camo, c300 blue dot. For league, I only take the Incite, x2, and bd. The hustles are for practice on burned up lanes.
The hy-road max is a weird ball. I'm thinking of shelving it, moving the x2 to the 3-ball slot, and putting something a bit stronger on the 2-ball slot (likely Altered Reality).
I used to bowl 20 years ago, and life took over, so never got back to it, till now that am retired . I been playing a little, am disabled in the sense have issues with my ankles, by bowling my blood flow will be better, doc likes the idea ,also am blind in right eye ,so am playing again, and learning all over again. I love how spec is set up for way I bowl, and curve ball isn't my style ,am more special player, always have been, I throw right with my thumb, and last to fingers spaced so when I throw the ball, mid court ,it back spins ,been doing this for over 40 years ,it looks weird, but way do it makes smooth. Also that ball per manufacture says med. to heavy oil, not dry .
Just got my first ball. Rotogrip rubicon. Average is creeping up but I’m averaging around 160 since getting it. Would like to break 200 and get my average to 170. Started at 125. Currently 131
The spectre looks to drive through the pins very well. Where something like the wolverine always looks like it deflects. This ball looks like it'll be really good for alot of regular bowlers
How the Wolverine acts for me I hardly ever get deflection personally. What happens to me when I’m using the Wolverine is I end up leaving 9 pins from it driving in so much.

Just a heads up for those of you who own a storm spectre, you can no longer use that bowling ball during league or tournament play. The USBC placed the ball on the banned list for failure to meet the hardness specs Monday morning.
@@bigdaddy28173 I've used the Brunswick crown jewel in league play and was never once questioned about it. Hell I've been throwing a vintage black beauty during sanctioned league play and not once did anyone complain.

I just picked a Spectre up this week. Wanted something to throw when it's dry out or if I'm practicing at a place that doesn't oil as much. Juuuust starting to throw a hook. My main ball is the new version of the Hammer Black Widow Legend. I also throw an Ebonite Futura but nearly as often. I own other balls but haven't had the thumb re-drilled yet. Had been a straight bowler the whole time. Really digging the Spectre. No way in hell am I throwing it in the first game but 2nd or 3rd game, absolutely. With the Legend and Spectre I feel pretty confident.

I'd like to able to figure out the carry better... I'm leaving a lot of 10s and some 7s. I hit the pocket 99% of the time. I'd like to throw another 300/800, but carry is holding me back. I have a good selection of equipment too...
my goal is to get a pba regional title or something near that status. my equipment going into the year is a timeless, hyroad nano and a motiv forge fire. in dire need of a asym.
Goals for 22 is to win another tournament. My last win was back in 19 and want to feel like I can still do it. Also very interested in playing in a regional to see how I do.
I'm really going to work on 2 big things. 1. having a more consistent approach and really utilizing rotation better. Being 50 and rev dominate I need to have less rev at times, especially for league
I'm pretty Rev dominate as well, to a fault sometimes. I've tried flattening out a bit in the later games and it's helped me quite a bit. It's hard to rid yourself of the urge to crank it though.
Right now I bowl with a motiv pride and a ebonite puma. For fun ill still pull out the old warhorse that is my track triple threat. Looking to get a motiv forge fire. Or anything that helps a bowler who's far left, high rev, avg speed.
My goal for this year is to get consistent with my throws. Get it to my mark more often, and keep misses within a few boards. Question for you guys--I just came back to bowling after being away for quite a while, and my old Columbia 300 Freeze (pearl sym) is just too weak for the shot I'm throwing on. The league I'm in is giving us a ball (I chose the reality, over the dark code and UC2 because I need a strong ball). Do you think I should pick up something like the Zen as well? I only have the freeze, the original burgundy hammer (my dad's old ball) and a plastic spare ball at the moment. I don't want to overspend on balls I don't need, so just wondering if I should be picking something else up to fill a gap, and it seems like the other two balls in this vid would be closer to my freeze. Our house shot is longer and flatter than I'm used to from other centers.
My dad starts out with an axiom and is looking for a ball to step down to as the house shot dries out. Would a zen be a big enough gap to make that move or should get go with something like the wolverine or spectre? He was also considering one of the hyped balls

Oh I wanted to ask you is that Wolverine a pin down, it’s so clean or the spectrum? On your 6 pack do you carry two of the same symmetrical of a pin down and pin up, asymmetrical same thing or two different asymmetrical ball with different diff ? Thank and also enjoyed this
I just got back into bowling after not being in a league for 6 years. I bought a Phaze 2 and love it. Shot my first 800 this year with it. Currently a 208 average, I want to get into the 220s. Phaze 2 is the only ball in my arsenal. I'm actively looking for something to compliment it in game 2/3. Phaze 4, Spectre, and Wolverine are the ones I'm currently looking into. In 15+ years of bowling, I've never thrown an asym. Can't decide which route to go for my next ball. Tips anyone?
I just bought this ball. I'm a league bowler, not a high rev player. As a matter of fact, hardly any revs at all, lol. I'm not doing well with this ball. I also bout a GB4 and a Polaris. I'm doing o.k. with those. 196 avg. I'm not used to throwing a pearl ball so, I guess it's just going to take more time. I enjoy the vids.

I wanna bowl my first 300 . Just had a 264 last night in league was mad after having the front 9 then getting 8 then proceeded to whiffed the spare 😆 🤣
First time I had the front nine, I left a 10 pin and whiffed. Sounds familiar. :) But I did get my first 700 that night. ...but then I went and got the 300 the next day (and another 700). Good luck!
The Spectre has a weaker coverstock than the Axiom Pearl, so the Spectre will give you more length and a sharper motion off the end of the pattern than the Axiom Pearl

Get back into bowling, after a hip replacement last year and a hairline fracture on the same leg I just want to bowl again once I'm healthy.
Would you said the Hy-Road Pearl is similar to the Wolverine/Spectre as well?

I'm pretty Rev dominate as well, to a fault sometimes. I've tried flattening out a bit in the later games and it's helped me quite a bit. It's hard to rid yourself of the urge to crank it though.

Right now I bowl with a motiv pride and a ebonite puma. For fun ill still pull out the old warhorse that is my track triple threat. Looking to get a motiv forge fire. Or anything that helps a bowler who's far left, high rev, avg speed.
My bowling goal for 2022 is to bowl a PBA midwest regional 50 stop. And cash at one of the SSBA tournaments held in Iowa.
My goal for this year is to get consistent with my throws. Get it to my mark more often, and keep misses within a few boards.
Question for you guys--I just came back to bowling after being away for quite a while, and my old Columbia 300 Freeze (pearl sym) is just too weak for the shot I'm throwing on. The league I'm in is giving us a ball (I chose the reality, over the dark code and UC2 because I need a strong ball). Do you think I should pick up something like the Zen as well? I only have the freeze, the original burgundy hammer (my dad's old ball) and a plastic spare ball at the moment. I don't want to overspend on balls I don't need, so just wondering if I should be picking something else up to fill a gap, and it seems like the other two balls in this vid would be closer to my freeze. Our house shot is longer and flatter than I'm used to from other centers.
My dad starts out with an axiom and is looking for a ball to step down to as the house shot dries out. Would a zen be a big enough gap to make that move or should get go with something like the wolverine or spectre? He was also considering one of the hyped balls
Goals for 2022: work on better balance, be more consistent with my wrist, and hold an average above 210 the rest of the year. Also travel to more tournaments
great job video.. hi i bowl like walter ray.. have no problems second and third arrow. but when i play the four arrow. my ball doesnt come back but skid in the back end.. what ball would you recommend for me. average about 200.. thanks you

Oh I wanted to ask you is that Wolverine a pin down, it’s so clean or the spectrum? On your 6 pack do you carry two of the same symmetrical of a pin down and pin up, asymmetrical same thing or two different asymmetrical ball with different diff ? Thank and also enjoyed this

I started bowling in May of last year and I currently have an average of 162. My goal for this year is to try and get my average closer to 200
I just got back into bowling after not being in a league for 6 years. I bought a Phaze 2 and love it. Shot my first 800 this year with it. Currently a 208 average, I want to get into the 220s. Phaze 2 is the only ball in my arsenal. I'm actively looking for something to compliment it in game 2/3. Phaze 4, Spectre, and Wolverine are the ones I'm currently looking into. In 15+ years of bowling, I've never thrown an asym. Can't decide which route to go for my next ball. Tips anyone?
Break 200. Recently scored a 194 with a spare ball, and I'm looking to get my first reactive.
I just bought this ball. I'm a league bowler, not a high rev player. As a matter of fact, hardly any revs at all, lol. I'm not doing well with this ball. I also bout a GB4 and a Polaris. I'm doing o.k. with those. 196 avg. I'm not used to throwing a pearl ball so, I guess it's just going to take more time. I enjoy the vids.

Do you prefer the zen at a different grit and no polish? Out of box, it seems angular for me but still controllable.
the more i use it, the better it gets, its probably close to 5000 now with lane burn

Just had a 264 last night in league was mad after having the front 9 then getting 8 then proceeded to whiffed the spare 😆 🤣
First time I had the front nine, I left a 10 pin and whiffed. Sounds familiar. :) But I did get my first 700 that night.
