This is the first video ever that I could understand Power BI. You started from a high level (Overview) such I know what I'm going to learn next. I have gone through so many powerbi training and was unable to put my finger on what I learned. Some just speak too fast, other scattered materials everywhere. Truly you are a gifted internet instructor. Thanks for the lesson. I have subscribed to your youtube channel.
Thank you so much for this absolutely fantastic feedback Nitaya, happy to read that the video was helpful for you! Great to have you on board of the channel, thanks for your support!
There are some really nice Training Videos on RUclips for Power BI but your content is very very good. The things that makes your presentation better are the level of detail about all elements of the User Interface within PBI Desktop. I have been doing this for sometime now but was not clear on the distinction between M Code and DAX mainly because no one has explained the distinction. You have shown this by indicating the formula bar in the Query Editor and explaining the difference between Data Model View and the Query Editor. I was always lost between DAX and M Code. The distinction has finally bben established now. Thanks guys you are truly amazing. After watching this I feel like a guy who needed glasses all my life and you just gave me a pair of glasses. The world suddenly makes a lot of sense. Loved this presentation. It would be awesome if the remainder of your courses were made available on youtube.
Thanks a lot for your awesome feedback Eddie, it's just fantastic to read such wonderful comments! We do have some other free resources on Power BI on our website (academind.com/learn/power-bi) but of course I would be more than happy to welcome you on board of the full course :)
Just watching through this now - off to a very good start. I like your style, easy to follow, well presented! Will certainly consider joining the full course!
Good accent, better trainer I love his teaching-Good tutor for non English speaking learner because his English is what we learnt at home. I will definitely do this course because he impressed me! Good on you mate!
I love this video, I just subscribed right after 7 minutes of this video, thank you so much for sharing this, I’m a beginner and this video is really helpful, God bless you
This is so easy to follow, I've been searching to find someone who is able to explain about Power BI and how it all comes together in a non-technical/jargon free way ... I've found my man! I'm really looking forward to learning more from Manuel.
Great video mate. Explained very well and one can try the example and see the results. I learnt a lot. Do you have more videos for PowerBI covering other aspects? Great work. Good on you.
Power BI Desktop is nice so far the biggest issue is performance on startup the system should launch in 2-3 seconds but instead takes 2-3 minutes! How much horsepower does it take to run this beast?!
After changing data type of GDP to Decimal Number, all the rows of this column shows me an Error. Why is that? It's the same database you used, don't really know why this is happening. Others columns data type is changing without any problem. The same happens when I use the latest data from that website. BTW so far great video!
@@lelandali I've just figure it out. I had to change the dot to a comma in numbers. He's from America so he has a different number format. It's a pity that he does not pay attention to the comments.
Thank you for good tutorial, question: when I loaded the data got this massage: 1of the loaded queries contained errors, what should I do and what is the issue?
@@thorbjornsvanholm5882 hm, good to know. But true I didn't really saw that accent as a heavy one, it's just something that was not quite American in Doctor's speech.
Thanks for your useful information. I have a question about the data set. After we edit the data, and then we load this to visualize the report. So is it possible to back to the data set to edit again? Thanks

Hello. Great video! By the way I have a question... when I selected "close & apply" the message shown was "1 of the loaded queries contained errors"... maybe because of "n/a" GDP numbers, however I can't remove these "numbers" because I can't "find them". Please, help....
Excellent tutorial. A few comments. At ~27:00 when I select "Map" visualization, the country field does not appear to have loaded correctly. I only see "China" and it appears somewhere in Mexico on the map (in the middle of the viz)
Happy to read that you liked it Dmitry, thank you! The entire course comes with a lot more content, Q&A support and assignments, just in case you're interested => www.udemy.com/powerbi-complete-introduction/?couponCode=ACAD_W
Quick question - I am not able to list all the rows when I click on the dropdown menu to remove n/a, how do I remove them. I get a prompt which says that the max limit of 1000 has been reached.
In 2019 the steps taken to remove the n/a's are not efficient and/or working, instead, follow every step he does except go through your data, find Syria & Pakistan, on the HOME page, delete alternate rows, then fill in the for Syria/Pakistan, the number of rows to delete (1), and the number of rows to keep, should be 193 on your first removal, then 192 after. Sorry if this is difficult but if you follow my words carefully it will work absolutely fine. Have a nice day.
alternatively what i did is used text filters with does not contains option and entered n/a.. that filtered out n/a's without knowing which country has it..
Hello, love this video but I'm having trouble with the data. When I go to make the visualization, it's only giving me data for 2021 and 2022, it's like all of the data numbers when into those two years, but when I pull it up in data view and sort per country, the data is correct (????) Not sure what I'm doing wrong. :( I'm going to work on it more tomorrow. Stopping here at 24:26 placeholder :)
I signed up to this course after watching this ($40) but unfortunately the video delivery on their website is really poor. Seemingly every other video will not play, despite signing in and out, changing browser, changing devices. Watching 6 minutes of a video and then spending an hour or two trying to get the next one is not an optimal way to learn (not for me anyway!). Really, really frustrating!
