I freaking love every last Star Wars movie. The prequels, the originals, the sequels, the spin-offs, and the Disney+ series... I love them all. Inject all the Star Wars content into my veins, please.
My favorite music hands down! I am still amazed of how much the music drove this movie as much as anything else! The music blends with the action so masterfully it tells the story as it’s going on. I can still picture the scenes based just on the music. A great example on how music can touch your soul. As a kid I liked the music but now I appreciate how masterfully it was written and performed. I remember learning that Williams had the movie playing on a big screen to help motivate the musicians playing. Someone pointed out to me that there is hardly a time when music is not playing in the movie. I laughed at first but he was right. Sometimes it so subtle you really don’t pay attention to it but your brain does! A credit to Williams writing. A wonderful job John Williams! Thank you so much!
John Williams did screen the movie as the LSO was recording the music. What a fantastic idea it was too, it really inspired the musicians to play to the images, which is one of the reasons I think this score is so fantastically rousing throughout. I've seen video footage of the recording and it sent a chill up my spine. "The Throne Room" is not only my favorite piece of music from the film, it's my favorite piece of movie music ever. It's such a tribute to the fantastic string and brass sections of the LSO, captured in that special time in March 1977. 😊❤
I got married last year on March 22nd. Our wedding had to be altered rapidly because of COVID. This was our walkout song. I had one request for the entire wedding, my wife could do whatever she wanted but I requested we walk out to this song, because she was my medal that I had won, and she said yes to that, so now every time I listen to this track, I’ll remember our wedding day.
Damn this music is great and I super glad that this was played at my High School Graduation Ceremony!!!! There couldn't have been a better song to have been played. If I can I am gonna play this at my wedding hopefully my wife is a Wookie to!!!!
John williams is a master of taking the influence of the true classical masters, and weaving their unique, characteristic voices into a soundtrack that will NEVER be topped. This victorious yet slightly melancholy melody is full HOLST!!!!
LOVE this track probably the best from star wars if you dont count duel of the fates because, oh my, duel of the fates is simply amazing and one of my favorite songs ever
I always get emotional when R2 comes out, no idea why!! Like he’s okay we’re all good guys 😂. Amazing score, reminds me of watching this with my dad ☺️
Man I really wish I went to see this movie on theater when they one was premier kids this day won’t remember when their parents saw this movie This movie is where rogue one ends and the story begins I was shock when I saw the rogue one ending and I cry when I saw Carrie fisher

Ben Kenobi's death? "You cannot win Darth, (even) if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine", Obi-Wan Kenobi. "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter", Yoda. By shedding his corporal form and lulling Vader into a false sense of confident victory, Ben was able to reach into Luke's X-Wing and directly guide Luke's actions, stave off Vader's relentless attack while Chewbacca, knowing the secret details of the attack on the Death Star, convinced Han to follow his own sense of moral right he had been trying to ignore, allowed their joining the battle at the exact moment only they could have assisted, clears Luke's run on the exhaust port and the resulting direct hit, destroying the Death Star. No doubt Chewbacca's personal friendship with Yoda played heavily into his urging Han to return to Yavin and join in the fight, arriving precisely when and where they were needed the most, giving irony to Solo's satement "theres no invisible force guiding MY actions".

You know, something i figured out. In this, the first movie, far more than any that came after it chronologically, used what I'd call a "proactive/reactive" musical approach, its absolutely top to bottom made so that each chunk of song is accenting very specific moments in the movie, while ultimately having not many seperate themes, there's the main star wars theme of course, then binary sunset, then leia's theme, which are all 3 very similar. Though i think its purposeful, and done for a few reasons. 1, binary sunset, also commonly used as the main theme of the force, is similar to the main theme because its integral to the setting, and leia's theme, like the both if them is connected, as are all things through the force. But also Leia's theme has this distinct feeling of being unresolved, its melody not hitting a conclusion in the same satisfying way that the other 2 get to. Ir might have been people in 1997s hint that there was more to come yet
Star Wars wouldn't have been the massive cultural hit it was without the music of John Williams. He took a great movie and made it a masterpiece.
No.
He took an average space pantomime and turned it into a classic.
An average space pantomime that was the first of its kind and revolutionized Hollywood as a whole.
+TheClassicalSauce Amen, brother.
CreppyHandedMan: have you seen the original trailer? It was _so_ horrible without John Williams' music.
He took a simple idea with a unique spin, and made it an absolute masterpiece.
John Williams doesn't conduct music. He conducts FEELINGS. It's so..so... Energizing and heroic
Yes! He is a alien.
That's actually a great description of his music.
True
Facts!
That's exactly how it feels; Adventurous and heroic...

Almost 40 years later and chewie still hasn't gotten a medal.
He actually did. In the new canon Chewie gives his medal to a boy.
and does that boy turn to be one kylo ren?
Umm no
Supposedly Wookies HATE Jewelry
Lego claims Theepio Broke his Medal
Marvel Comics 1977 Leia is too short
(seriously)
he can have Han Solos.... too soon?
1:40 The best score transition to the end credit in cinema history.
Twitch amen to that
Also in Empire Strikes Back
Saw this in the theater back in '77 so many times. This IS STAR WARS.
Aw man, I wish I would have been a kid back in that time so that I could have watched Star Wars in theaters for the first time.
You're lucky. All we got now are the "special editions" with completely unnecessary CGI.
The original unaltered versions can still be found.
And there are the despecialized ones as well.
Yep. I bought the original Star Wars trilogy when they were selling it for VHS "one, last, time."
To this day I have not regretted it.
At all.
This entire track just brings me to tears. I'm still astonished at how perfect this movie AND its soundtrack is. It's truly breathtaking.
Carrie Fisher, my princess, rest in peace.
Han's princess, I think you mean. But yes, we are all sad for poor Carrie. :(
"The general? To me, she's royalty."
they played this at my graduation and everyone was asking each other if this was star wars
savage_ boy That's awesome
Salvador Castanon Ours as well in 2013!

Lucky.
1:45 Best end titles in movie history
So much nostalgia, I can't help just playing the whole scene in my head while listening to this.
Matthew LaTorre who couldn't?
TBH, I'm just thinking of the original version of the movie.
RIP Carrie Fisher
I'll never forget her.
May the force be with her
One word can consider this theme: Perfect.
The only end credits you would like to stay at the cinema for
This specific song has got to be my absolute favorite of Episodes IV/V/VI. There are no words to describe the majesty of the throne room sequence.
I must have heard/seen this a million times, but I still get chills. Still love it.
Movie making changed forever since May 25, 1977
Accurate!
I freaking love every last Star Wars movie. The prequels, the originals, the sequels, the spin-offs, and the Disney+ series... I love them all. Inject all the Star Wars content into my veins, please.

When i was in my teens, early 20's i always blasted this song on the ride home when i got some action. Needless to say, i didn't hear it very often.
DUDE! I AM SCREAM-LAUGHING, I CAN'T STOP!! I will NEVER hear this the same way again... 😅😅😅😅👍
London SymphonynOrchestra kicks ass
Hands down best soundtrack of all Star wars
I don’t know what it is, but I absolutely love that turning over part at 2:17-2:24
Yessir same
LOVE this track probably the best from star wars if you dont count duel of the fates because, oh my, duel of the fates is simply amazing and one of my favorite songs ever
+ndre c Yeah but duel of the fates is in the Phantom Menace so that instantly makes it inferior.
that means nothing. Its one of the best songs in all of SW and during what is possibly the best saber duel outside of ESB
Sheer movie magic.
THE BEST END TITLE MUSIC !!!
Perfect music for a film which is wonderful disco era fluff. And yes, it was a great time to be alive..!
Too underrated
My favorite movie ever
I honestly am crying listening to this

From 00:00 to 00:49 100% pure epic...
Is it just my imagination or the first seconds of this track are slightly similar to Mendelssohn "Wedding March"?
it is! :)
