Hi Helen! Talking about your scroll rods and stitching on the left-hand side being right handed.... just turn it upside down to make the left hand side of your pattern available to stitch on the right side. 🙃 1 2
Hi Helen I really enjoyed your Video - Love your Finishes - love your WIPS - love your New Starts. Everything is so pretty. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵❤️
Thank you for sharing your WIPs and gifts you received! So many beautiful cross stitch options! I especially liked you Narwhale in the pastels! Thanks for giveaway ! #2 is my favorite
Hi Helen😊. Looks like you're off and running for 2024! What a great little frame for stitching on perforated paper! I'm stitching a Brooke's Books sunshine line on perforated paper now, and while it's manageable for me without a frame, that little frame you showed would be so convenient ! Now don't misplace those ornaments you've got all stitched up already for next year's gifts😊. Have a great stitching week!
My daughter( now in her 40’s) did the book it program! She loved getting those personal pan pizzas when she filled her card. Back then the star stickers were gold puffy stars. I have a ton of punch needle primitive stitcher magazines I should stitch from. Mill Hill rabbit hole, definitely a thing! I’m going to look into that frame/holder thing it looks like a game changer. I tried scroll rods years ago and hated them. Could never get comfortable holding them. Used a-snaps for years and just last year switched to stitching in hand. It was a learning curve too but I’m loving the flexibility of it. Loved your narwhal stitch!
The store I used may be sold out of the frame, but is expecting more in a couple of weeks. There are also other shops on Etsy with a similar frame. Donna and I loved filling out our Book It stars!
Great episode. I love the Arctic Animal design, but wondering if you (or anyone else in the comments) know we're to find the color conversation to the blue version in the book? Thank you for your dedication to posting videos and enthusiasm for stitching.
Hi Helen! I loved seeing the magnetic frame for perforated paper. I just saw an ad for them this past week and was glad to see that someone had gotten it. I also am a scroll rod stitcher. I actually stitch two handed on my lap without a floor stand ( although I have one). You’re right that it’s all about preference and what you get used to. 2
I love my scroll rods for bigger projects. I sit at a table and balance the project on it rather than using a stand. When I stitch on the left side of the project, I turn it (and the chart ) upside down which puts the stitching on the right. Stitching in the upside down works for me! 2
I thought I was the only one that holds my stitching close to my face. Everyone else calmly stitches with magnifiers and can see far away. Me?magnifiers make it blurry. Best way is for me to stitch close up. Glad I’m not the only one. 😂😂 Happy New Year!
I love your video and your ideas. I enjoyed your discussion about scroll rods because I am toying with the idea of trying so thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful. 1 and 2.
Helen, I have fell down the Mill Hill Kits. Just before Thanksgiving I was doing the sled ornaments. Loved that they finished so quickly. Had a friend to show her advent ornaments from Mill Hill. Well one kit can't travel alone😂. So now I think the grand children need some of the these in their life. Enjoy your videos. You get so much completed. One day I hope too.
Welcome to the Mill Hill addiction! I’ve been stitching them for several years and thoroughly enjoy them. There’s almost always enough of everything, even the perforated paper if you plan carefully, to do two of the small ornaments, and if you run out of floss, it’s DMC, so no problem. Their larger Buttons and Beads series is also wonderful.
Happy New Year! I used to use scroll rods exclusively and just hold/cradle it in my right arm, as I stitch left-handed. If it was a wide scroll rod then I would use a floor stand. The last couple of years I have started stitching in hand. I make a drawstring bag to hold my scroll rod pieces when I’m not working on them.
I used to sometimes stitch on a fixed floor stand and like you i just prefer when i can have my stitch exactly where i need it to be comfortable. My old floor stand was from the 80s so hopefully modern stands have better options. 2
Those Mill Hills are so cute! Love that magnetic frame to help. Will be looking into that. So excited to see your winter finish video. I picked out some magazines patterns so hoping for a Book It SAL start soon.
Yeah!! The shop I got them from is out right now, but she said she's expecting more in a couple of weeks. Or there are other stores on Etsy that sell them too.
You have such wonderful projects planned for 2024 - but especially like the Autumn Lane Stitchery design. It’ll be fun to see all your progress this year. 1 2
Great video! It looks like you have planned for a great stitchy 2024. I too have poor eyesight, in fact I am legally blind. I have recently started to stitch on a Gus Deluxe stand. It is the only stand that I have found that I can position up to within three inches of my face, and also support my large and heavy Millennium frames. I am still trying to get used to stitching with a frame and stand. For smaller projects, like you, I normally use a QSnap or a hoop. Happy stitching!
Agree with Jennifer….flip your project upside down. I do it all the time! Just remember to flip your pattern, too. 😆 I love the scroll rods for large projects.
I enjoy your videos so much! You are so easy and calming to listen to. Your finishes and beautiful future plans are beautiful! I had to stop and order the owl pattern. Thanks for all you do for us!! 1 ❤
Hi Helen: I love your floss tubes!! You have such an inspiration!! I so appreciate the info on the mill hill frame and the scroll rods. Good 2 see u!! Many thanks!
So good to see your videos, we've been spoiled with them lately! I have only ever stitched one Mill Hill kit but seeing yours makes me want to do more. I love the solution you came up with to make it easier to hold the perforated paper! 1
Great video! Love this Mill Hill finishes and plans. And Book It makes so much sense. I am trying to not start anything that I don't already own - not easy! And as an in hand stitcher, I too struggle with scroll rods. Good Luck! I have a subscription to Readly and today the Spring edition of Just Cross Stitch popped up. And who is mentioned as having wonderful tutorials??? YOU! Congratulations for the mention!
Another great video. I really appreciate your tutorials- I made my first strawberry thanks to you and loved it!! I hope that you have a great stitchy 2024. 1,2
Your Satsuma Street WIP is beautiful! Your Book It paraphernalia brings back memories- of when I was a teacher. Guess I’m old! Thanks for sharing and have fun stitching!
Thanks for talking about scroll rods and the Lowery. I have stitched with a hoop always. but I have some starts with bigger fabric, and need a solution! 😂. Thanks for sharing! #1
Hi Helen, really enjoyed the show. That little gizmo for holding mill hill reminded me of another gizmo that might be useful to you. When I went down the "i want to learn to decorate Christmas cookies rabbit hole " , i bought a magnetic stencil holder for cookies. It starts at a 5x5 square that might help you with bigger designs.
Hi Helen, Love your WIPS! Some I’ll be on the hunt for, lol. Also love that Mill Hill stitching frame, stopped the Flosstube to go buy one and of course they’re out. I sent an email to the owner hoping that they’ll get more in. I think it’s ingenious! My hands always gets stiff and hurt holding perforated paper. Can’t wait to see what you’re up to next. Happy stitching! 1, 2
Super cute Mill Hill ornaments. I always have one on-the-go. I put Mill Hill Mondays in my planner this year so that I can get some of my kits done. I've got the Three Kings by Jim Shore/Mill Hill that I keep out to work on, too. You are off to a great start for the year. Lovely gifts for Christmas. Making covers and grime guards is such fun; I just know that you will be successful at it. Have a great stitchy week or two. ❤
Love all the mill hills u got!!! I actually did the same thing...I had thrown a couple in my 123 cart with a big order (the mill hill naughty and nice ornament kits) and had my husband put em in my stocking, too! 😂🪡❤️
It's really great! The shop I got them from is out right now, but she said she's expecting more in a couple of weeks. Or there are other stores on Etsy that sell them too.
Oh my! I am also Helen D! I finally married my long time best friend on St. Patrick's Day 2023! And...you look exactly like one of my best friends! I so enjoyed finding your wonderful flosstube videos! So much inspiration and information. I'm not sure how to win the freebie, but would love to win the love one! Thank you so much!
I very much enjoyed seeing your progress on your current wips and hearing about what you've been up to. I've never done a Mill Hill but now I am tempted after seeing yours and also more interested in the scroll rods too which I've never tried either. I always love seeig your reindeer - Comet is so cute. Thank you for another great stitching update. Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year. 1, 2
Another idea for working with Mill Hill kits. I bought stretcher bars and the thumb tacks go right through the holes and there is barely any stitching that needs to be done near the edges….which you can do at the end…off the stretcher bars. Just another option.
I use scroll rods & a Lowery Stand. When you get to the left side just turn the project & the chart upside down. Then continue stitching. The crosses are the same upside down as they are when right side up. 2
I stitch upside down on almost all of my printed charts. The problem I'm having is some, like The Four Elements, I have digitally in Pattern Keeper, and there's no way to turn the chart upside down. Although just now as I'm typing I realize I might be able to turn off the auto rotate function. Maybe there's hope afterall!
I loved seeing your Mill Hill finishes - very cute! I haven't stitched any yet but between you and Vonna sharing your finishes, I have some on my wish list for when I finally decide to order one. Here's to goals! 🤣 1
I love that last (#2) pattern you are showing. It’s so pretty looking. I always watch your videos. I am a subscriber. So fascinated with how you teach me something every time I watch you.
I have the rolaframe scroll rods but the ones you bought i like. Keep us updated on how you like them. Good luck with the new stitching style. Happy New Year! 1
Keep going - stitching two handed was so awkward when I first started - now it's the way I fly and is wonderful. I'm heading over to buy that magnetic frame for Mill Hills - looks good. 1,2
If the frame is sold out she said she's getting more in in a couple of weeks. There are also a number of other sellers that have them, but I believe they're all overseas.
Love those elf ornaments. Love perforated paper and Mill Hill too. Michaels used to sell them and we have no LNS so I did a lot of them. Hope you figure out the scroll rods. Keep stitching
LOVE all your Mill Hill finishes and kits! Your scroll rods with the clips are genius. I am struggling to use rods on my bigger pieces. A pink Valentine house and daffodils - perfect Spring. 1, 2
Hi Helen! Talking about your scroll rods and stitching on the left-hand side being right handed.... just turn it upside down to make the left hand side of your pattern available to stitch on the right side. 🙃 1 2
That's what I do with my q snap. It should work for the Mira, but the Satsuma chart is in Pattern Keeper. They need to add an upside down option. 😂
Hi Helen
I really enjoyed your Video - Love your Finishes - love your WIPS - love your New Starts. Everything is so pretty.
Take Care & Happy Stitching

Hi Helen😊. Looks like you're off and running for 2024! What a great little frame for stitching on perforated paper! That's the challenge, right?! I"m going to tuck them right into my finishes box. 😊

I ❤ doing the Book It program when I was a kid 😊 # 1
I had 2 check into those magnetic frames.
Good some people have sharp eyes to see what we forget to stitch. Love the reindeer.
Loving thr fresh start feeling to 2024. Just finished my first WIPGO goal. So far so good. 1,2,
Ooh, I love your Arctic/Winter animals 💜🩵💙
Wow do you stitch up a storm! Go girl. 2 would make my heart sing and my finger dance across the linen. Thank you for sharing your time and talents.
Thank you!
Mill Hills are so adorable! You’ve got so many cute ones! Love that holder. 1, 2
Hi Helen! Loved seeing your gifts. That fabric you got from Mystic is gorgeous! Hope you have a good couple of weeks. :)
I love my scroll rods for bigger projects. I sit at a table and balance the project on it rather than using a stand. When I stitch on the left side of the project, I turn it (and the chart ) upside down which puts the stitching on the right. Stitching in the upside down works for me! 2

I do believe you have sent me down a Mill Hill rabbit hole!
Have a great couple of weeks❤

The last couple of years I have started stitching in hand. I make a drawstring bag to hold my scroll rod pieces when I’m not working on them.
Love thinking back to the Book It campaign. Memories!
Thanks for all the ideas on getting new goodies! I message the Etsy lady and got on her wait list!! 2
I have so many Mill Hill kits started or need to start! I like the frame idea because they are hard to hold, you are so right. 1 and 2.
Using the frame or sewing fabric on for a q snap made a big difference for me!
I do not use scroll rods but have heard others using a pillow case for a cover - always enjoy your videos - such interesting charts - 1 - 2
Great video Helen! I love all your stitching ♥️
Loved the mill hill finishes! Can’t wait to see your winter decorations video! 1
Really enjoyed your video and see all of your finishes. You're always very inspiring. 1,2

Yeah!! The shop I got them from is out right now, but she said she's expecting more in a couple of weeks. Or there are other stores on Etsy that sell them too.
So fun to think about Book It! I loved that program as a kid. Best of luck getting use to the scroll rods. 1
I love doing Mill Hill kits, and that holding fame is such a fantastic idea! What a game changer!
It really makes them more enjoyable to work on!
Love to see all your stitches. #2 Thank you!
Loved seeing your finishes and the new starts. 1, 2
You can fill those stars! Just a FEW more WIPs

Loved your video today. I don’t do Mill Hill but feel, like jumping into it after seeing your wonderful finishes. 1
I don't know why they all of a sudden spoke to me, but I'm hooked!
I love watching your videos. You are an inspiration!!
Agree with Jennifer….flip your project upside down. I do it all the time! Just remember to flip your pattern, too. 😆 I love the scroll rods for large projects.
I flip my q snap all the time. The challenge will be with charts I have in Pattern Keeper. They need an upside down option! 😂
1, 2. I always love everything you are stitching!
Thank you!
Those Mill Hill kits sure are addicting! 1, 2
I’m obsessed with mill hill kits! Thank you for the shoutout! I absolutely love my frames for my mill hills! 💜
You absolutely inspired me!! 😊
Hi Helen. I love your videos. You have such an easy, friendly style. I’d really enjoy stitching 1.
Watching you, i am liking the millhill kits. Very cute ornaments. 1,2

Even just sewing fabric scraps on the sides made it way easier to hold! But the frame means I don't have to do any counting. 🤣
@@helend.flosstube Genius!
All of your projects are beautiful. I really like the whale. I have a few Mill Hill charts waiting for me to start. 1, 2.

Really?! First I'd heard of that! I'm honored! 😊
Love those Mill Hill kits. All are so cute! Might need to buy those 😊 1, 2
I really enjoy stitching Mill Hill kits I have not done the little elves they are adorable. Your Arctic Animals is gorgeous. Happy stitching.
I'm so glad I finally stitched that elf. I don't know what took me so long!
Another great video. I really appreciate your tutorials- I made my first strawberry thanks to you and loved it!! I hope that you have a great stitchy 2024. 1,2
That's great!! I need more berries this year! 😉
I love your finishes and your wips. However, I really like that Annie Beez Sampler. 1. I would love to stitch that. Happy stitching to you!
Your Satsuma Street WIP is beautiful! Your Book It paraphernalia brings back memories- of when I was a teacher. Guess I’m old! Thanks for sharing and have fun stitching!
Scroll stitching - I find putting it on the frame makes it much easier to stitch on the left (I’m right handed). You’ll get the hang of it. 1
1, 2. Thank you for sharing your adorable ornaments. Stay warm, happy stitching.
I am loving mill hill kits too, need to stitch them more.
Thanks for talking about scroll rods and the Lowery. I have stitched with a hoop always. but I have some starts with bigger fabric, and need a solution! 😂. Thanks for sharing!

I'm hoping it will be the solution for me. So far the jury is out 😂
I’m on the struggle bus with new scroll rods too. Here’s to us! Ha! 1 2 Happy stitching 😂
Glad it's not just me! 😂
Mill Hill heaven! You are a real influencer today. Stay safe on those snowy roads! 1 2
Thank you! We have another messy storm coming in tonight.
I've never heard of that! I'm going to have to check that out!
I did some Googling. They look like they would totally work!
Great video! Beautiful stitching! 1, 2
I love all the things you shared. 1, 2

There are other sellers that have them on Etsy, I just chose that one because she's US based.
Thanks for sharing your projects, so pretty! I need to get out some of my Mill Hill and start stitching! Happy New Year!🎉 1, 2
1 or 2. Thanks for showing the scroll rods. Sweet little Mill Hills.
Thank you!
Good luck with the scroll rods! 1-2
Love all your ornaments and projects. 1 - 2 .
Thank you! 😊
Thank you! I'm really enjoying the Mill Hills. I know a lot of people work on them on Mondays!
Hi Helen! Beautiful patterns! Thank you!
Thank you! 😊
All the Mill hill so fun! Great tips on your scroll rods. I have a new stand I’m trying to figure out how to get used to using. 😅 #2
1 and 2. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
1 . enjoyed your video today always something new. Have a good week. No snow here in western NY south of Buffalo at least no where I live!!!
Love all the mill hills u got!!! I actually did the same thing...I had thrown a couple in my 123 cart with a big order (the mill hill naughty and nice ornament kits) and had my husband put em in my stocking, too! 😂🪡❤️
You can fit a lot of Mill Hill ornaments in a stocking!
I really like stitching the Mill Hill ornaments! My favorite so far is the Christmas pickle. 2, please and thank you in advance.
That's a great one!
I am so excited about the mill hill kit holder you shared!!! I am absolutely going to pick one up. Thank you for sharing that. 2
Yeah, another Helen D!! Welcome! To be entered you just need to type in the numerical number of what you'd like to go for as a comment.
Thank you! I'm loving the Mill Hill kits! The scoll rods are a challenge, but hopefully I'll get there!
I haven't went down the Mill Hill rabbit hole....yet -ha! I am going to do Santa's House and Four Elements. Love them both. 1,2
I can't wait to see the other Cottage Garden houses this year!
Another idea for working with Mill Hill kits. I bought stretcher bars and the thumb tacks go right through the holes and there is barely any stitching that needs to be done near the edges….which you can do at the end…off the stretcher bars. Just another option.
I've seen people use those on the bigger, square Mill Hills, but I've never seen stretcher bars come smaller than 6 inches. Am I missing them?
I just bought my first Mill Hill and am excited to try it. 1 2
They're really fun and stitch up quickly!
Always excited when I get the notification you have posted a new video. I love the variety of projects that you stitch on. 1 or one. Thanks!
Thank you so much!
I love that last (#2) pattern you are showing. It’s so pretty looking. I always watch your videos. I am a subscriber. So fascinated with how you teach me something every time I watch you.
Thank you so much! 😊
I have the rolaframe scroll rods but the ones you bought i like. Keep us updated on how you like them. Good luck with the new stitching style. Happy New Year! 1

I got a lowery stand from my husband for Christmas and I love it. I only started stitching a month ago so I have no previous way I stitched lol 2
If it's all you know then it's easy, right? 😊
Love those elf ornaments. Love perforated paper and Mill Hill too. Michaels used to sell them and we have no LNS so I did a lot of them. Hope you figure out the scroll rods. Keep stitching
Wow, I don't remember ever seeing them at our Michaels!
Love all your kits. I would love #1 or #2... thank you🎉
Thanks for sharing ❤
1, 2 ! Thank you for a great video! Happy new year!
Wow! I just love all the goodies you received for Christmas. You will have fun stitching them. 1,2
LOVE all your Mill Hill finishes and kits! Your scroll rods with the clips are genius. I am struggling to use rods on my bigger pieces. A pink Valentine house and daffodils - perfect Spring. 1, 2
I thought the clip rods looked like the easiest ones to use. Not I just need to get the hang of them!
