  • An awe-inspiring nature and wildlife documentary on a fresh water frozen lake which looks like a sea! The amazing life inside and on the edges of the world's largest lake by volume. Located in Siberia, the Lake Baikal is rich in biodiversity. It hosts more than 1,000 species of plants and 2,500 species of animals based on current knowledge, but the actual figures for both groups are believed to be significantly higher.

    This is one of the better documentaries I’ve ever watched.
    The way this was put together; the factual information, the way it was filmed and the voices of the narrators combine to give this a “personal” feel.
    Excellent piece of filming. 😊

    My 1st trip to Baikal was in 1995. We were in a village called Ust Barguzin. Cant believe Itz been 26 years!

    0:59 "637 m deep" - actually the maximum depth of Lake Baikal is 1642 m.

    I hope that they got the sunken vehicle out of the lake before it was able to contaminate the water with chemicals leaking out from it. Naturally filtering organic contaminates out of the water is a hell of a lot different than filtering out chemical contaminants....

    Keep the lake super clean please nor to be having smoking exhaust to drive on it or have experiments with all kinds of nosy scientists.. Save the planet think about the future.
