Very nice but if that were me I would have add some silicone into each screw hole and on the screws them selfs to keep the water proofing in tact . At my age I’ll be needing those safety bars soon

You really should seal the holes with some silicon calk.

Very fortuitous that you were able to hit two studs. It would have been nice to see how you would have done it had you not been able to sink the screw into that second stud. What fastener would work best?

      Hi Joel,
A butterfly fastener and 1/4 x #20 stainless screw is best. Hope this helps!

My wife wanted a grab bar in a certain place. No studs. I used anchors with a 5/16 bit. Pretty easy.

What if the studs are not where the rail goes?

Without seeing the bathroom, it may be worth buying a handrail that is 16” long and if the framing was done right you should hit them. Or at least one and for the other side use butterfly hardware to push through and the expand behind the wallboard for a strong hold.
