Thank you for your view on this topic. The brand situation, such as no Ford or Chevy is only from "console/crossplay" mods. Any PC Only mods are free to use unlicensed brands. Inconsistencies are sadly something that will always be an issue; however feedback is taken and there's always ways to improve. Ways to do this outside of a video essay, is to contact the modhub team through the messenger, this way the team heads can notice those inconsistencies and communicate it. If one does not contact the team and just fixes the issues "again" or just leaves frustrated, no one knows about it. There are actually many things that is being fixed or "looked over" by the modhub team manually on each mod. Minor things will never cause a mod to go back if it's not taking hours to fix; hence why mods may process a few days slower if there are a lot of mods with few minor things that they change internally. I would love to go into more details each point you had in the video, but i feel like this comment has already gotten longer than intended. Feel free to comment below, be it rooster or an interested mod consumer, if there is any feedback that has not been covered by the video or just interested to voice an opinion. Any constructive feedback is welcomed, be it good or bad. In the end everyone involved is human so there's someone at the end that will understand you.
Can I ask Marcel, both my map and FarmSim Briscos maps (Ballam Rd and Saxthorpe) passed for console but won’t load up on 1st gen consoles such as Xbox one and Xbox one S, I think I’ve narrowed down to ground textures used to make the maps as mine had 127 and briscos has 120 and I’ve therefore reduced my map by 40 and it’s in testing now, but is there an actual ground texture limit for making maps before it stops loading on consoles or is it trail and error?
We’ll send I agree whit what you said I am a console player I love the mods that get put on and I do not care if it can not come on console I am happy with what his there people just need to be happy whit what there and just wait for mods to be ready plz people need to remember and respect the modders that there have family and jobs has well love what all you modders do for us farming simulator community once again a big thank you to you all be proud of what you have done whit the mods and have the love from us all ❤
To all the Modders, Thank you for doing what you do and bringing your mods to us console players. You don’t have to go through all the extra troubles but you do and a lot of fantastic mods it’s just a shame we have only roughly 8gb of space between maps and mods. It’s a rough balancing act for me
I think mod size aren’t optimized well to start of with. Some of the tractors do have good detail just I can’t see he having almost a 26-40mb file for consoles for one tractor. Like the Claas dominator 108 that has multiple combines to choose from for 70mb I can see that you’re getting more than one. For me I have most JD, Case, some NH, most Fendt, Deutz, an some claas, then have two maps I play on. Then enough space for some equipment. In my opinion I think for the new gen consoles I think they can handle more that 8gb of storage for FS22 doesn’t take that much power to run it to start with.
I’m a ps4 player and all I want is a 806 mod for ps4 as it was the first tractor I’ve ever worked on and I have over 1000 hours on one and I respect the effort that mod makers give I just want to say thank you
I'm not a Modder, but wanted to say to all the modders, thank you, thank you, thank you. Some people doesn't understand what goes into mods and the requirements. All I can say @Rooster Mods, well said, well said.
The wait time for newly submitted mods is now 11 work days!! What on earth are they doing over at GIANTS for it to get that bad? one-and-a-half-week wait time? It's a joke... on average 25 mods release at once, so thats only 25 mods over the course of an entire week or more. It only used to be 3 workdays and they would release 30 mods at a time!
As someone who is relatively new to the modding community, the lack of documentation drives me nuts! Plus the subscription and paid tools to make high-quality mods is just a barrier I can’t afford right now. I still try my best with my limited knowledge and tools, but it hurts knowing I’m being held back by things I don’t know and groups like GIANTS don’t have documentation about. I’m glad members of the community such as yourself are such big helps to new modders like me!
Very well said! Thanks for sharing your views on this topic. As a new modder myself it took a long time to learn the steps and it was really stressful getting the first few mods on the mod hub.
Rooster, thank you for taking the time to do a video like this. Hopefully others will find it as informative and helpful as I did. I would like to add a HUGE thank you to the modding community. Without modded maps, equipment, and mechanics I would have already moved on and been playing something other than FS. Giants (whether they realize it or not) also owe you and all the other modders out there a huge thank you.
Great video, thankyou for putting this information out there! And thankyou too for doing it in a calm way that isn't just taking shots at GIANTS, I know it's a passionate topic for all involved so I really appreciate your delivery here. Top stuff!
You nailed it buddy. Been down that road with GIANTS. The documentation on the modding process from GIANTS is poorly done. A documentation dump from a generated export tool does not qualify as documentation. Maybe if that code was commented, but it leaves modders to reverse engineer for most tasks. For a game that literally lives on mods, it’s sorta amazing.
Thank you for sharing! Most of this I pretty much suspected or knew, but I love they way you put it. Very understandable and clear. Modding is very difficult and something I am not able to do, so I have mich respect for modders. Again, thanks for sharing. Hope you're having a great day!
I appreciate all the work modders like yourself do in Farming Simulator. Thanks for providing insight on all the hurdles you have to clear for Modhub. I'm a Patron of a few modding groups and they've hinted at the iterative process they go through prior to release. Also, when I worked at a game studio 7 years ago, we switched to Substance so we wouldn't have to furnish Photoshop licenses. It is no wonder Adobe acquired them since I departed the games industry.
Great video Rooster. As a gamer I will never understand the issues a modder goes through to bring mods that enhance the gameplay. How ever I do appreciate the efforts of all the modders.
Just saw your new tillage mod you’re working and this video showed me just how much work can go big and small mods i have way more respect now for people who mod in general
As a big admirer of the Modders and their relentless effort in making games so much more enjoyable this was very informative. Thank you for your video and not the least your contributions to Farming simulator! ❤
Thank you for explaining it. Always wondered why theres so many mods that aren't for modhub, but is already a licensed brand, not a script etc but now i see how hard and probably annoying it is
Firstly i want to say that you made a great video explaining all clearly Rooster Mods! Second, as a modder my self i can relate in most of the stuff you said in the video and Thirdly, thanks for all the modders for doing hard work for us to enjoy playing in-game!
This has opened my eyes even more to what you guys do. I only commented the other day the level of detail in FS 22 and all the mods is second to non. I will spend a lot of time checking a mod out when I download it for the first time and it blows me away with the level of detail in each one and the animation. Most of the detail would go un-noticed if you didn't look for it. The only thing that puts a tinge on this game for me is the Micro stutter but I have learned myself to almost not see it, but it does take the edge off off it. Thank you for doing what you do, it is much appreciated.
6:46 I gave up on modhub when a small mod I submitted failed testing due to texture and model problems. The mod used all Giants assets. It's a complete joke Excellent video!

The executives who pretend there aren't ways around these hurdles, while high fiving behind closed doors at the resulting sales figure jump, are responsible for these hangups. Fantastic video! Inconsistencies in testing can be very frustrating. But it does seem if you open a ticket and have a conversation, they are very open to help find a solution if something seems very off.

False - you pay for subscription game pass just to play multiplayer with the rates getting higher every year per platform - do the math and you'll quickly realize you paid for a PC.
The main reason I think uploading to modhub is not worth it , is that if I'm making a map I can use some lua scripting to make things a little more interesting , while if I want to upload it to modhub I need to take these lua from the map and make them a separate mod and go thru all the testing for that only lua script and after that they will start looking at my map.
I knew giants were a pain to upload mods for both pc an console I didn’t realize it was that big of a pain. I myself want to dabble in modding an add couple of things to the modhub. For both platforms, After seeing this I’m having second thoughts.
I personally understand and personally think that the console community is very selfish, I’m a console gamer myself. But Giantsoftware also so get blame for acting like a chicken with its head cut off. Giants needs to also stop using favoritism, the European and American communities should be equal. 810Modz proved this in FS19 when he released the Polish Shed. A crapy model which only got on modhub because it was Polish.
When will console get American warehouses that we can draw for cliffs into American trailers and back out of them and let them in the way that you do on PC or the warehouse is there on consoles for European stuff when do we get American warehouses to role-play with
Ok here a thing I have a problem with,if a PC player pays say $55 bucks for fs 23 and I go and pay $55 bucks how is if far that PC gets all the good mods just bc it's easier. If your a good mod and want your stuff on fs 23 or any other fs you should be able to do it for both.i get it moding isn't easy but if your not good enough to mod for both then your not a very good moder in the first place
PC doesn't get FS23 that's a mobile game. PC gets stuff because console can't get script mods or unlicensed brands. Also the fact that some modders does not want to cater to console players because they do not want to lowered the standards of their mods for giants to accept them for modhub
@LariatXLT89 your right but I still think it's not right .but I can't make them do it but still this happens to just about every PC and consul everyone dose so much for PC just bc it's easier.i just don't think it's right is all I'm saying
I know modding is difficult. It sucks. But think about the potential support you can gain from not only PC but console players if you could convert the PC mods to console. Just a thought
This is why i gave up Buying consoles. You cannot Mod on these systems. Plus they are a limitation on a working system, a I have you now It is this or nothing.
Thank you for your view on this topic.

When will console get American warehouses that we can draw for cliffs into American trailers and back out of them and let them in the way that you do on PC or the warehouse is there on consoles for European stuff when do we get American warehouses to role-play with

@JosModding no its griffin indiana
@LariatXLT89 ..sorry I ment 22 but you get what I mean ..if a moder can do it for PC then they should do it for console.
@jody-wk3yx like I said not all modders wants to do that unfortunately.
@LariatXLT89 your right but I still think it's not right .but I can't make them do it but still this happens to just about every PC and consul everyone dose so much for PC just bc it's easier.i just don't think it's right is all I'm saying
I subscribe to you
And again. And agina
Well i guess i should buy FS22 on Pc then. Since it sucks on xbox sadly
Wht modders might not understand, is that we ask because we are interested and like your mod.
I'm certain they do understand that the main reason someone would ask if a mod is coming to console is that they play on console and want that mod. 😐
If mods are not for all platforms it's not a community
Who cares
Are you employed by Giants? Another totalitarian statement from an up-and-coming dictator. Next up: Webster's redefinition of the term 'Community'
