    This is my absolute favorite Edith Wharton. Maybe my favorite all-time ghost story! I love that you do so many of my two favorite authors, Wharton and Shirley Jackson.

    Ooh, I do love this story. The way it's constructed is so unique, and fills the whole thing with such dread... but makes it tough to narrate! You did a fabulous job at it.

      Thank you! Yes, the rhythm is a little bit of a challenge, but she's always so good. Plus, gutsey, telling the reader you're going to slip a ghost in, and they won't know until afterward.
