Yummy Deli’s Massive Hmong Pho Noodles Challenge Had Been Undefeated for Over 1 Year!!

- American professional eater Randy Santel versus Yummy Deli's massive and undefeated "Jay" Hmong Pho Challenge hosted by Yummy Deli, LLC in Wausau, Wisconsin!! After attempting the nine big competitive eating restaurant challenges during my travels around Minnesota, I tried three more northwest Wisconsin food challenges before heading home to Milwaukee. For Wisconsin eating challenge #2 of three, I made the drive from Superior, Wisconsin down to Yummy Deli in Wausau, WI so I could attempt to become the first winner of their undefeated "Jay" Hmong Pho Noodles Challenge which is equal to four large-sized bowls of Hmong pho off Yummy Deli's menu. The giant bowl of pho is named after the owners' oldest son, Jay, and the challenge had remained unbeaten for over a year before I was able to get there. Around 10-15 people have tried and hardly anyone has gotten past halfway within the 1 hour time limit. A massive bowl is filled with over 4lbs of thin rice noodles, and topped with handfuls of every meat offered by Yummy Deli - imitation crab, beef brisket, sliced meatballs, steak, pork, and more beef. There are some healthy vegetables and the bowl is overfilled with lots of their beef pho broth, which is required and not optional. I was trying to become the first champion to win my $50 Asian pho noodles meal free plus a spot on their empty Wall of Fame and 10% off my next visit, if that ever does happen. Beard was complaining (mildly) about back-to-back challenges because, to put things politely, things were going in faster than they were coming out of his body. Given how many challenges you do, is that an issue you run into? Or does your body just run a little faster? Strange topic, but without wanting to get into the details, I'm curious about the general impact of competitive eating on your digestive system.
