You are very misinformed. She has a lot of grit, determination, strength, etc. She was the all-around gold medal winner in the 2016 Olympics. She was the first gymnast since 1988 to medal in every event in that Olympics. She has 4 moves named after her. Gymnasts are lucky to get one. She performs stunts that no other female gymnast on planet Earth can do. She won international competitions with broken toes, kidney stones, and other injuries. You have the audacity to say that she can't handle pressure! Pfff! As a former competitive gymnast myself, I know how strong and brave you need to be to do this sport. I have fallen off the 7 foot high bar and broke my arm and tore my ACL on floor. But, us gymnasts get back up and keep going. Every serious gymnast knows how awesome Simone is and how strong she is to get this far. Shame on you for putting her down when she had ONE bad meet. She hasn't lost a meet since 2013. She did not abandon her team. She did what was best for her team. She was thinking of her team. She stepped aside when she knew that she could not perform well so that she did not stand in the way of her team medaling. And she did the right thing because the team won a silver. Many of us are proud of them. If a silver is not good enough for you, why don't you try doing what they do. It's disgusting to see people like you put down a great athlete. Let's not forget that in the end, it is just a sport, and what matters is good sportsmanship. Every gymnast and gymnastic coach worldwide is supportive of Simone. It is only people unknowledgeable about the sport that criticize her. And if you truly understood the history of the sport and how former gymnasts were treated and felt, you would understand why we are celebrating within the sport of gymnastics that Simone was able to use her voice to speak up for herself and do what is best for her. She could’ve of gotten really hurt. She showed young girls to put her mental health first. You can’t have a good play without having a good mindset. She is very strong for what she did. Do you know what twisties are? It’s a thing in gymnastics when your head is not in the game. Many people who have tried to do tricks ended up having a twistie and ended up breaking their back. People who have had twisties and got injured aren’t able to play gymnastics anymore due to them not having the right mental health. You seem very uneducated. She did the right thing.

She didn't just "make a few mistakes and bail". She had the "twisties" which is a condition where you lose your spatial sense in the air. She had to step down to protect her physical and mental health. Gymnasts have become paralyzed and died in the sport. No medal is worth her life. During her one and only event that she did, she got lost in the air and only did a 1.5 twist on vault when she was supposed to do a 2.5. May I share this with you, if you don't mind?
The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
I hope you already know God for yourself, but if you don't know Him you can know Him today!
Jesus suffered, bled and died to pay for your sins and mine, out of love for us!
Salvation is in faith: one must realize that they are a lost sinner and will die and burn in hell for all eternity without Christ.
Once we see ourselves, all one needs to do is repent of their sins, and put their faith in God: believe with all their heart that He will forgive every sin.. and ask Him to save their soul from hell, with all faith and all sincerity.
If you have never gone to God and repented of your sins and put your faith in Him, now is the time my friend.

I have read, listened to, and watched on video hundreds of these stories. I also have personal spiritual experiences myself. There is no way to prove there is a god and everyone has there own religious beliefs and if everyone can’t be right it is more likely that nobody is right. I believe this natural world is all there is, no imaginary place you go after you die no man in the clouds watching everything you do and as hard as it might seem to cope with that life is suffering and we will all get sick and die somehow one day and be left to rot in the ground. Humans are scared of death and aging so they look for anything to put them at ease like religion so they don’t have to face the reality of the human condition which I think is a very cowardly way to live life

Life itself is such a strange mystery that we act and pretend that we understand. Referring to the near death experiences you mentioned you never know if these people are telling the truth or if they are making it up for attention or money, or maybe they actually did see something but I’ve heard when your body is preparing to die dmt is released in the brain which makes you hallucinate which can explain the images people see when they are in this state

If you are so sure that there is not a God, then there will not be any harm in doing this. Get alone and quiet, and talk to God (I know you don't believe, so just humor me, even if it looks like you are talking to yourself or the wall) and ask God to show Himself to you. She is a role model for women and girls. Only people like you can't see that.

The few people in the comments spewing nonsense are hilarious they would be upset if she lost and blamed it on mental illness and they’re upset she quit and blamed it on mental illness , realistically she was smart for quitting and giving a girl in the right headspace a go she could’ve injured herself if she competed while not mentally there anyone who disagrees has obviously never played a sport before you need to be emotionally there to compete properly otherwise you will fail and or get hurt

Or you get your head out of your ass and back in the game! Elite professional athletes are trained on their mental game as well and they ALL go through it! This was nothing but ego and selfishness

For the sake of sour grapes read 'Grapes of Wrath' or something close to ground yourself and then you can
Teach yourself to do all you want others to be unsafely.
Think before you leap cause we care though...

And you, like Simone, can work hard with your team and friends and make it to the Olympics WITH your team and friends and then simply walk away from your team and quit. Great role model. 🙄

Someone is crying to go, but you took their place. If you are a young fresh new Olympian I may understand. But you are a mature woman and experienced Olympian. You may not need more medals for yourself, but you forgot you are an Olympian who this country selected you to represent. Try to think who Olympian has no pressure to come to this level of game? But you gave it up with not even trying to get yourself back to shape. Sorry, I don't see anything wrong with you but afraid of failure! And you are using the mental breakdown to close your Glorious Olympic history. Not anymore. You failed your country!
And sorry for the girl who you took her Olympic dream away!

We real humans that are monsters wearing no love her! We are sorry that he got the twisties. Silly. We for. Condition when an athlete at her level can't tell him from down. I hope she gets a new every kind of scan possible including fmri! Our team is so fantastic we still won the gold.. We are s prud of all ofthem! She didn't hurt her team by taking Care of herself..teams don't rely on just one world elite athlete! This very white American household wishes our cousin the best of health, luck, and love! And I say cousin car are all cousins outside the family. We all descended from genetic Eve and genetic Adam, who lived like thousands of years apart. So yes we are literally family from Egypt (Khemet) to Kenya and So. Africa, to the Middle East and UAE to Russia, Europe, Scandanavia, the Isles to China, The Koreas, and Micronesia and the Pacific islanders and south And middle Americas... We are one type of human, there are no races of human but homo sapiens sapiens. And we are talso distant cousins to every living thing on earth. Genetics proved it. A Christian gene expert proved it when the entire human genome was mapped! We are literally a one family world! Simone Biles..my cousin, we love you and wish you the best!
