@@doku367 Stage 4 neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nervous system. Stage 4 meaning it’s metastasised in my bones. There was a large tumour in my abdomen wrapped around major arteries, and spots in my left arm, left side skull (the bone not the brain), hips, pelvis, and lower spine. I got treatment here in Australia at first at one of the best children’s hospital in the country, but we faced horrific treatment at this hospital and it was borderline a human rights violation, but that’s a different story I’ll tell if people are interested. After 6 months of treatment (mostly just chemotherapy) in Australia, my doctor said to my mother, grandmother, and me (a 5yr old) “The life saving surgery to remove the tumour in his abdomen is too risky and we refuse to attempt it. Your son has 2 months left to live, take him home and love him.” real scumbag this guy. My family refused to accept that, so they started a fund raiser and sold everything they spent their entire lives building to raise half a million dollars to go get treatment in the US. My family had bought a nice house in a nice new development area, we were set to have a nice middle class life for our family, white picket fence and all, we sold it all. Thanks to selling everything and the donations of generous people, I managed to get the surgery in America to remove the tumour at a hospital called “Memorial Sloan Kettering” in New York City, it was successful and it saved my life. I still had cancer in my bones so I started doing every kind of cancer treatment you can think of, we managed to clear up the spots in my left side skull and left arm, but I still have spots in my hips, pelvis and lower spine to this day nearly decades later. My body rejected most everything both medicines and cancer, the cancer didn’t spread, but the medicine wasn’t getting rid of it. So we lived in NYC for nearly 9 years, and after being stable to whole time and havi;g tried everything, we decided to move back to Australia with not a cent to our name. Luckily some family helped us out and we managed to find a place to rent, but we are dirt poor and our landlord is talking about selling the property. Which is really bad since Australia is having a horrible housing crisis right now due to covid and stuff. Most likely we’ll have to move to the country side and my life will pretty much be over at that point. I’m struggling to find a way to have a life here in the suburbs of Melbourne, I can’t find work, I can’t drive (too many painkillers and have no way of affording a car, let alone space to park it.) I can barely walk a few blocks without intense back pain and shortness of breath. So I almost never leave the house and thus have no friends to speak of, I’ve spent the last decade in almost complete isolation from the outside world. So even here in the suburbs I’m staring at the strong possibility of dying alone, but in the country it’s basically certain. But that’s my life atm, so I just gotta deal with it, having strong mental health is one thing I’ve got going for me. I’ve always been good at disassociating and focusing on things I enjoy like shows and gaming, so at least I have that going for me. But at the same time humans are social creatures and start to go crazy after long periods of isolation, part of me wonders how it’s effected me, or if it’ll start to effect me in the future. Dunno what’ll happen, but I don’t have a whole lot of choice over my situation. That’s pretty much my life story. Edit: Funny thing was that the doctor that said to my face I would be dead in 2 months here in Australia, he wrote an article saying that my efforts in America was a waste of money and resources and that I would die any day now. The only reason we didn’t sue was because A. We were broke, and B. He didn’t use my first name, he used my middle name “Little boy Jack” was the term he used, Jack being my middle name. The details made it extremely clear he was talking about me, he named the Stage 4 neuroblastoma with a large tumour wrapped around major arteries in my abdomen, the spots in my bones, the treatments I’d done, his prognosis, and that we’d raised half a million to get treatment in America. It was all too obvious who he was writing about despite him using an extremely common name like “Little boy Jack”.
@@dylaroo24 I live in regional Australia and it isn’t that bad. I also have chronic illnesses and while there aren’t hundreds of specialists around the populations are low enough that for the docs we have the waiting lists are short. There’s plenty of work availability. I think you’ll find a smaller city/town a more relaxing place to be.
I think the very nature of luck makes it impossible for an object to be “lucky” at least not 100% of the time. If you have a crystal that gives you good fortune all the time it’s not really lucky, it just gives you super powers.
Please do more experiments on controversal issues like this. You can test things like: Is the sky blue? Does the month you're born in have a signifigant impact on your life? Does the cow go moo?
Honestly, I've always posited that good luck charms and other trinkets like that *do work*. Not because of innate mystical power. Rather, based on the placebo effect. Which is honestly pretty fucking cool in its own right. The placebo effect actually has healing physical properties. If you feel you're getting better, your health will improve to a degree. And considering that chronic stress is just straight up bad for you, having some "good vibe" charm actually makes sense, from a psychological standpoint. Makes you feel better, so it makes you less stressed out, which helps you make better decisions in the long term. Honestly, that is a kind of good luck. Makes sense why so many cultures do it, honestly. Edit: Grammar and polish
@@ShortsSoundsOfficial you look like a literal clown when you take a random ass stone and say that it can impact your life in a positive way... Acknowledge it as a placebo
I don't believe in this either, but a better experiment is taking each crystal separately to the store to buy the lotto tickets. Since your luck was already decided at the store, not when you scratch it.
@@Mmmm-lx9vb well yeah but if they're gonna do it they should commit fully to the bit, no? lol besides, it's not like carrying the rocks with them to the store would be that big of a hassle

I love crystals. I have a lot of them. Tips: The left hand is the receiver, and the right hand is the giver. Also crystals worl over time and sometimes need to be clensed and charged before use (meditation, wearing, or holding).
I never believed in crystals but I did have one extremely unusual and intense experience. when I was 19 I used to hold this large selenite crystal while praying to test if it was real or not. one day after praying with the crystal, I fell asleep, and when I woke up I could feel this incredibly intense wave like energy coming from the crystal. I got up and felt the energy dissipate and when I went back to touch it, it resonated again. I never had that experience again, so I figured it was just in my head, something I ate or a really good sleep after positive thoughts, but its cool to think we can placebo ourselves into positivity like that. Maybe one day we'll learn more about them and find out they do have magical qualities like the child in us wishes they would be, but they're most likely just rock flowers.
My business just went bust, my dogs about to get put down, I now have a kid on the way with a homeless girl my mum can’t know about and yet I come to Charlie as he has good memories in my mind. Thanks Charlie you’re awesome!
Charlie, you have to really prep you Chi for these things. You have to do some shakes and then awaken your inner beast with some primal screaming. Go out on a full moon and drink rain water from a wolfs paw print. Only then can you can use your crystals. Also your have to get the impurities out of the crystal by licking it 9 times. After that its its really useful
The issue is that there's always excuses you can make to explain away undesirable results. eg. 70% of lottery winners go broke, so one could argue that quartz keeping you from winning anything is lucky. I'm curious what kind of experiment could be conducted to control for such things and actually show any sort of reliable results. I don't believe in crystal powers myself, but I'm always happy to see a good experiment
Greatest RUclipsr to date I feel like you literally meditated and read my mean comments through the universes waves and just produced straight gas content like it was grindtime 2006-2016
You should take them to the gas station with you to buy the tickets. They're not gonna magically change them into winners after you've already bought them without your Luck +2 rocks.
0:37 "We also have to tune with it, though" That's why they didn't quite work: "attuning to an item requires a creature to spend a short rest focused on only that item while being in physical contact with it" (a short rest takes at least 1 hour). Also, you should probably have had the crystals on you when you bought the lottery tickets.
I think the real problem here was that you didn't use the stones to choose the tickets. Next time let the stone choose which ones you get for the maximum luck stat 😎
As a crystal bitch who entirely believes in the energies of the world and crystals I throughly enjoyed this. No matter if you believe it or think it’s just delusional people making shit up I think they’re at the very least pretty and fun to learn about. Especially where they come from and how they’re made is so cool. And like the girl said you have to take care of them and do rituals and cleanse them and it gets me into a productive state of mine where even if it’s not actually doing anything it makes me feel good and happy about myself ya know.
I'm very much a science-minded person, but even if crystal healing is 95% placebo, there could be something there. Put a bunch of atoms(a lot of it has to do with electrons) in a highly-ordered structure and you get all sorts of properties. Quartz is piezoelectric, under physical stress the atoms move and shift their electric field. Electricity from a rock. Natural magnets(electron spins aligned), and fluorescence of course(again, electrons)! I just recently found some minerals(Corundum, Fluorite, Sphalerite, Kyanite to name a few) fluoresce to give off infrared light(not thermal, rather NIR just past visible red). To me that's more interesting than a bright green fluorescent rock because I _can't_ see it. All this to say; crystals have many unique properties, of which we continually discover new ones. It's literally un-scientific to not research these claims, however under the lens of materialistic reductionism we won't find anything. That's a whole other topic...
@B Ueb @B Ueb Yea, what has material reductionism done for us anyway. Einstein was probably a liar. You name several observable qualities and state those as reasons that ridiculous things such as magic healing or luck should be evaluated. If you're so "science-minded" then why don't you look into it yourself? No respectable scientist would waste time trying to prove magic.
Fact of the day: If you weighed 100 pounds at the north pole on a spring scale, at the equator you would weigh 99.65 pounds, or 5.5 ounces less. Your mass, in grams, however would stay the same because 'grams' is a measure of the resistance of a body to being moved and has nothing to do with acceleration or gravity.
Grams aren't a measure of resistance of a body being moved but a measure for both weight and mass, just like pounds, so you are only saying, that your weight and mass can be different, but it has nothing to do with pounds or grams that are the measure to both of these separate things.
Im not a crystal power believer, but these guys should "charge" the crystals and take them with them to pick out the tickets. Thats where the luck would be needed.
Personally I use crystals in my witchcraft practices but I know that it's not gonna do anything. Practicing witchcraft just makes me feel better about my mental health and be part of a nice community. Essentially witchcraft is just connecting with the earth so it's nothing crazy. Also they are shiny and rocks which I love rocks and shiny stuff.
there's also the benefit of placebo, that's always been my big take with being a practicing Wiccan. Regardless of the actuality of the situation, much can be said about believing in the results, a lot of manifesting things can be attributed to he placebo effect which we still don't fully understand. Definitely seems like some weird form of "magic" at this point.
@@pepper-chan I'm a biomed engineer haha, when you get into higher level academics you start to recognize a lot of the things from esoteria inside different STEM fields. Of course a lot of it is trimmed away, but it's also important to keep an open mind in all things :) Good luck in your education!

I just like shiny rocks tbh. The crystal healing trend is a scam, but shiny is shiny. Only Crystal that gives power is crystal meth or the infinity stones.
Honestly something I find interesting is that some crystals can work if you really believe it because of the placebo affect. If you truly believe a rock is going to make you happier, it will!
I laughed a bit when you said placebo affect 😂. Thought you were ganna say "I find it interesting that some crystals can work if you really believed in it because of some magical menifinstation style shit." But it took some other turn. 😂
I mean, I suppose, but it's not specific to any object. A fossilized turd could do the same thing, if someone believes enough. It's not inherently bad, but crystals and stuff are a still a scam. Though part of the effect can be the sacrifice or economic cost in getting the 'magic' items.
@Krranski I mean, crystals are also very pretty and make my crow brain happy but yeah it's just that a lot of people already believe in the effects of crystals. Otherwise, like you said, anything could have the same affect.
@@DragonFries12 Hah, I like the term you used, "crow brain". And yeah, you are right. The stones are pretty, can be used in art, and spiritual rituals (if the person is interested in that stuff). Someone in another thread reminded me of these things as well and I appreciate that. I am a scientist, so my mind tends to jump in specific directions when trying to analyze stuff. That's no excuse, but the perspective helps me understand myself a little better.
@Krranski I'm very much a sciencey person too, but I just find it interesting to learn about other beliefs. And honestly, if something makes you happy and isn't doing any harm, it's frankly no one's business to criticize that!

Be careful with the quartz blaster, quartz absorbs negative vibrations, you could accidentally mag dump a weeks worth of bad vibes on someone in a second. Also you need a cleansing crystal to dispel the negative vibrations safely.
@@_b_e_a_n_s_ kind of, it absorbs negative vibrations and so it can be cleansing to people and spaces that it's in. But it works like a sponge, after a while it gets full of bad energies and you need to cleanse it with a stone like selenite, putting it in moonlight, or burying it in sand or other earth. All that aside, I was just trying to make a silly gun safety joke.

What kind of cancer?
@@dylaroo24 Interesting. I'm an oncology laboratory student so I'm always curious about that stuff.
@@dylaroo24 I live in regional Australia and it isn’t that bad. I think the very nature of luck makes it impossible for an object to be “lucky” at least not 100% of the time. If you have a crystal that gives you good fortune all the time it’s not really lucky, it just gives you super powers.

"the newspaper keep the luck in" is probably the best phrase to summarize the all lucky crystals thing

A man of true luck. Little does Charlie know it requires skill.
I love crystals. I have a lot of them. Tips: The left hand is the receiver, and the right hand is the giver. Also crystals worl over time and sometimes need to be clensed and charged before use (meditation, wearing, or holding).
The great miracle here is that the crystals arrived without damage. Quartz in particular breaks in shipping so easily.
To use the stone like this, outstanding move for sure. Next time when I wish someone luck, I will just throw the luckstone at that person.
Maybe one day we'll learn more about them and find out they do have magical qualities like the child in us wishes they would be, but they're most likely just rock flowers.
catch me referring to them strictly as "rock flowers" moving forward
it’s almost like you can feel the energy coming through your vain right? Every single thing has energy and vibrations

As a crystal bitch who entirely believes in the energies of the world and crystals I throughly enjoyed this. No matter if you believe it or think it’s just delusional people making shit up I think they’re at the very least pretty and fun to learn about. Especially where they come from and how they’re made is so cool.
I think you should hand the cashier a crystal and get them to mend their charkra with the crystal to pick out your tickets - no word searches though
The opening reminded me of those old VHS tapes that only contain advertisements of obscure products.

Fact of the day:
If you weighed 100 pounds at the north pole on a spring scale, at the equator you would weigh 99.65 pounds, or 5.5 ounces less. Your mass, in grams, however would stay the same because 'grams' is a measure of the resistance of a body to being moved and has nothing to do with acceleration or gravity.
I AM BETTER THAN PENGUINZ01 (THE VOICES IN MY HEAD TELL ME THAT)
Grams aren't a measure of resistance of a body being moved but a measure for both weight and mass, just like pounds, so you are only saying, that your weight and mass can be different, but it has nothing to do with pounds or grams that are the measure to both of these separate things.

You guys should put the crystals in water! It really helps you see the actual design of the crystal. They are absoultely GORGOUES! When submerged!
But they work because you're already so lucky that you can afford to spend money on such nonsense.

Fun fact: a lot of crystals are just different colors of quartz. ie: amethyst is purple quartz and citrine is yellow quartz.

Be careful with the quartz blaster, quartz absorbs negative vibrations, you could accidentally mag dump a weeks worth of bad vibes on someone in a second.
Also you need a cleansing crystal to dispel the negative vibrations safely.
You sound insane 😂
isnt quartz supposed to be the cleansing crystal lmao
@@_b_e_a_n_s_ kind of, it absorbs negative vibrations and so it can be cleansing to people and spaces that it's in. But it works like a sponge, after a while it gets full of bad energies and you need to cleanse it with a stone like selenite, putting it in moonlight, or burying it in sand or other earth.
