The results should have went 4th - Indiana, 3rd - California, 2nd - Ohio, 1st - Hawaii, Miss USA - Louisiana.
Based on the final question, Louisiana should have won.
@@figureskating2724 score wise, Ohio trounced the competition. She was so far ahead of the others that it was a contest to see who place first runner up.

Well technically, Arizona has NEVER won Miss USA! She inherited the crown after Shawn won Miss Universe in 1980
@@justrelax1539 well...a crown is a crown. So Arizona technically had a Miss USA like Florida, Idaho and Maryland (one dethronement and one inherited).
Miss Ohio had a quite unusual face that long time ago...big eyes, bad nose job done, not very nice teeths...Miss Indiana would make a better choice for the crown that year.

the one thing I will NEVER understand is Why did Miss Louisiana Lisa Moss repersent the United States at the Miss World pageant instead of the 1st runner Holly Dennis Miss Indiana, also How would Holly Dennis have done IF she HAD competed at the Miss World pagerant
Miss World? Do you mean Miss Universe instead? If not, what do these "delegates" do -- just spend all their time entering beauty pageants...?
It said Holly Dennis got married after the pageant. She and the groom were lucky that she didn't win or things might be different now and she met someone else or the groom gave up waiting for her after her reign. miss Hawaii did some acting and released some music/pop albums. she also graduated with the current prez of the usa

Miss Hawaii comes across like a "mean girl' to me. Sort of a catty, "snarly" smile, like "I'm better than you". I think she also was trying very hard to look like the previous year's Miss USA (who went on to win Miss Universe, so not shown here). Kim wasn't particularly personable, but I don't think she was a B...

She seemed condescending and, frankly, seemed like a bit of a B to me...Not bad looking but fakey,, fake smiles and very inpatient on one of her replies. And if she's like that on TV, I can only imagine what she'd be like in real life. Stuck up and not particularly genuine. Shouldn't have advanced in the pageant...

And sort of your prototypic "crowning moment": an articulate, but plainer (but still a major knockout) "delegate" and a drop-dead gorgeous "delegate" who isn't particularly articulate. And three guesses who wins...
Indiana and Louisiana are more beautiful.

Kim is gorgeous. And, unlike most other "delegates," at these events, was a very sensuous young lady. True, she wasn't really "personable," but I tire of the fake smiles and fake bubliness these "delegates" emanate. She was kind of like, "yeah, this is me -- like me or don't"..." Admirable, in my opinion and one of the few "delegates" who looked and acted like a sensuous woman -- not some "twit" of a schoolgirl...acting "bubbly" solely to win...
I noticed fake smiles and bubble headed delegates NEVER win at Miss USA or at Miss Universe.

I think Kim would of done better in her placement at Miss Universe 1981, only if Bob Barker had not put her on the spot with the embarrassing interview he did about the places she traveled since becoming Miss USA.

Shawn Weatherely won Miss Universe, so she was technically unable to finish her year as Miss USA, so the first runner up took over. It's always been like that.

When Sylvia Hitchcock won Miss Universe in '67, the 1st runner up declined to assume the position of Miss USA, therefore the 2nd runner up took the title! 1980 was the FIRST time the first runner up became Miss USA WITHOUT the original winner being dethroned! Miss Universe 1954, 1956, and 1960 ALL held both titles SIMULTANEOUSLY! And where was she on this night?
Jeanine Ford was 1st Runner Up when Shawn Weatherly won the Miss USA crown in 1980, but Shawn Weatherly went on to win Miss Universe 1980, so Jeanine Ford had to take over as Miss USA 1980.
Miss Hawaii was the best!

The judges at miss usa just love kim, But the judges at miss universe didn't like her that much. Someone else should've won miss usa that year because kim was just all teeth and hair, nothing more
sammy7819 I thought she was beautiful (well not beautiful as Miss Louisiana). She did not have the IT factor but looked better than some other Miss USAs. It was hard to figure out why the same panel of judges that ranked her second in Miss Universe preliminaries would’ve marked her so low as to let her out of the top 5... weird

This seems so wrong in 2022.

Miss USA who won Miss Universe was far beautiful then the one that took over as USA
