- FINALLY, the maiden flight of the AVIOS Bushmule V2! This thing was a real pain in my nuggets to get together! (Not FMS "pain in the nuggets" level, but nonetheless.) This maiden flight exposed some more manufacturer issues and also highlights some pilot related errors. This maiden flight also includes more 'pre'flight' breakage, as well as a mid-flight CRASH (probably pilot error) and then some somewhat of a speedy recovery attempt in pure D-I-Y Channel fashion! However, somehow and some way, possibly SOMEBODY relieved me of this "cursed bird" and if so, now it is THEIR PROBLEM! Still my fault but, not my problem... Good luck to them.

All I can think of was that construction was still going on inside like low voltage or HVAC or something that Sunday and "they" were already on scissor lifts near the ceiling, heard it hit, then went to get it afterwards. Since there were no cars in the parking lot. All I can figure is maybe they were parked inside also as there is a concrete ramp on that end. But no worries! I have Plan B & C ready to test this weekend so we'll see what happens and which one works best now and then I'll try and so the drop next weekend at the latest! Somebody is getting that new Arrows F-15 for sure!

James, I must have because that thing was a pain in the nuggets from assembly to maiden. But, glad SOMEBODY enjoyed that thing! It has soured my taste toward AVIOS though. Maybe will all the $ I've given Horizon Hobby, E-flite had some secret hand in it....? 🤑👍

Being a long term RC hobbyist I must ask these questions:
1. Did you have your FAA and/or AMA numbers on the plane? Remember it's required to be visible on the aircraft.
2. Any other contact information on the plane?
3. Those old AR636 TXes came programmed specific to the airframe HH sold them in the BNF packages. To use it in a different airframe you have to reprogram it.

@@nicholasturner6018 WAAAAAY ahead of you my friend! Plan B is the EC-1500. PLAN C is the Typhoon H with a drop basket and I've already started "noodling" that one out in my head. Now, if I just had another head and 4 more arms, I could get it done quicker. But until then, I'll try Mountain Dew!
@@DaveItYourselfChannel if I had props for my ec1500 I'd gladly do the drop. But before my maiden flight both props flew off and shattered in doors.
@@nicholasturner6018 Did you happen to see my original EC-1500 video where I had FPV on it and one of the props came off mid flight and that thing nose dived into the middle of a parking lot? Oh that was a good one! I used my paper tape and hot glue methods to get that thing back in the air the next day! NIIIIIIIIIIIICE! 😁👍
Sounds like the fiendish nightmare is over! I’m surprised you tried to put that plane up with soo many electrical anomalies. I suspect you didn’t mind sacrificing the plane or electrics. I know I have the same perspective at times- it’s either gonna fly or go into the trash can!
Argh! That was brutal, Dave. Looks like this one was cursed from the git go. I was looking forward to seeing the mods you surely had planned for it. One thing you can take away from this is to never fly a plane you know is sketchy over anything but an empty field. Keep up the good work, buddy! Daves everywhere are behind you!
I'd say 1 of 2 things
1....the wind blew it of the roof into the undergrowth
2 I did notice a suspicious chimpanzee loitering in the bushes with a ladder....
But my money ITS IN THE UNDERGROWTH check again

My guess is security cameras spotted the wreckage and facility maintenance folks then scooped it up..... or the wind took it off the roof and somebody picked it up. Losing a plane is never easy or fun especially when it's not recovered. It's a sad loss and even more painful given the fact that you were trying to use this plane in a fun way to give back to the community. Glad you didn't have a camera installed in the plane this time. You're a super positive guy so I know you'll adapt and overcome.

I understand nothing... Why you didn't ask employees of this enterprise, probably for about 50$ they would return the Mule to you? Especially because it is "for repair"? Or maybe the plane was blown away to another side of the hangar?
Maybe check with security??? Would they have seen it land on the roof?

SUX! Just got back from SC, so missed Sunday. Bushmule is not is stock, and that may be a good thing for me. I had planned to order, but after watching your informative videos, perhaps NOT. Sorry this happened to you, Dave, but thatks for saving me that frustration.
Always check safe before you reverse any servos or change rates.... if your elevator and errands are correcting the wrong way turn your receiver 180 degrees if your antenna is facing forward switch it to switch backwards the Gyros will reverse and then safe will be correct then you go in and reverse what servos need to get the input control switch to the right directions save for always stay right because of the Gyros
I crashed on top of our mall, went home and got my drone, rigged up a cord and grappling hook and never found the damn plane. Wife thinks a hawk or other large bird could have taken it, there were some in the area and they probably weren't happy about me invading their airspace so I guess it's plausible.
Crazy! That's a for sure UNEXPLAINED MYSTERY!

I've got that same issue with the throttle on my AeroScout. No idea why it just started doing it. It operated fine last year.

I had the same problem with this plane I went into my Servo Direction and switch Direction on my servos and that fix that problem and when safe was working backwards you turn your receiver 180 degrees if the antenna is facing frontward turn it so it faces backward that'll reset the gyro on your safety and fix that problem

That was a sketchy place to fly first off..but if its the only place around you can fly I get it..but I would have written my name and number on the inside of the canopy or somewhere on the plane.. just in case of something like that. I crashed my Bushmule the first day out flying it because of to much deflection on the elevator. That sucks your plane was gone plus a battery and RX. I really like the Bushmule its great to drop stuff out of the cargo door.

DAVE I normally find live is full of unexpected surprises anomalies n just plain strange if it were me I'd go back. The chances of someone climbing the roof to be there at the exact same time.... It can't be nowhere so it's got to be somewhere. Look in places it shouldn't be and I know it sounds crazy look o. That roof again...

This guy is hilarious funny yes this playing is hard to get together and running but your biggest and I do mean biggest fear with this plane is it will stall very easily do not try to bank this plane with the flaps down or it will stall you have to keep some juice flying this plane and if you have your flaps down for landing be straight on your approach and don't try to turn or it will fall out of the sky

I didn't see where you "walked" the back of the building. Really stupid question, did you? You said it was windy, could the wind have blown it off the roof? Also, you shouldn't have taken it up with obvious receiver issues. Though, I agree, the build is horrible. My first time up I found out how ignorant I was when I should have checked all the horns were correct. One of the ailerons one hole off makes the plane very unpredictable..... Miss rigged from the factory... Got to love Hobby King grrrrrrrrr.
Wow mine went together super fast n easy...The Wheels were a joke so i changed those out.

This plane is very heavy and stalls easier than any of the 32 planes I own it will stall so he's he's keeping the throttle anytime you are banking or turning this plane or it will fall out of the sky like this guy's did over top of the building

Yeah My bush mule (yellow one) had a bad ESC solder issue I discovered 100 ft up and she lost all power and nosed into the lake. Hobby King basically said YES bad solder issue , our fault, pay $55 buck shipping and we will make sure its our fault other than that , you bought it and we have your money and we are hobby KING!!! We dont care if we screw you we are hobby KING!! When you buy a Hobby King product you must understand no matter what they say ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless your willing to pay return shipping. Return shipping to Oregon from Fla STARTS at $55 . Am I starting to rant now???? I HATE HOBBY KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry this happened to you!! That is a sinking feeling seeing your plane go down and losing sight of it. I have 2 Parkzone Cubs lost on private land that I cannot retrieve.

min batt is 3000 you got way to small batt bro. then you took off into the sun,then you flew behind a building losing site,and i never use a used reciever always new.and yes new ones can be bad too.but you need alot more practice before you film a youtube video becuse its just really rough watching you make rookie mistakes,start out with trainer planes and get more info on the hobby please! and ive lost a plane that way too! lol some ass hole stopped picked it up put it in his car and drove off,had it all on my home cameras but couldent do a damn thing about it! lol
