I even have grey paint on hand as my front room where it’s going is an oriental theme of grey, blues, and blacks. So it was an added touch to be able to “see” How it’s going to look in my home. 😉

Thanks appreciate it!! Oh the reason is because of the measurements of the tank the tank would be a hanging off a little and it bugged me so I decided to add that row and turn it for space! That’s all but either way it’s super sturdy and works you can customize it how ever you like,, that’s what makes this build so cool!! 🤙🏽💯🤙🏽

And would it matter how thick it is? Not really like it's really supporting the actual weight of the tank anyway?
That vinyl is clutch, I use it on the floor, walls, whatever you want to protect. I like this idea dude, going to give this a try, but I like it just with the blocks and wood naked. Good stuff!
This is an expensive hobby, but its so exciting to me. You always give me good ideas. Iam going love making something similar. I am about to start an aqua scape with either guppies or Japanese rice fish. Since its my first time doing this, I am using a less expensive fish. Once I get my tank up and running I plan on having Tropheus duboisi masawas. If you know anything about these fish, can you please school me.
After a lot research, I ditch the cookie cutter aquascape and go bare bottom. Save $ on substrates and live plants. The pros of going bare bottom with simple Aquaponics setup. My fishes finished all their foods. The bottom of the tank stay sparky clean. My hang on household plants eliminated ammonia and algae. Water change only take a few minutes and I don't have to trim plants or gravels vacuum. A win win for me. I have my tank on a old computer desk. It doesn't match my decor and was looking for something else better suited but now I'm going to get me some velcro and Waynes coating and I'm in business, thanks for the idea! Plus my desk has wheels so it is ideal.

Yeah wasn’t looking to have shelves just wanted to do it easy simple and lowest cost if you do a 125g 6ft I would have a center brace of cinder blocks for support but if its a 4ft 125g aquarium no need for a center brace🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽💯

Oh it’s extremely safe, it’s nothing new it’s been around the aquarium hobby for decades I just added my own twist to it with adding the Wainescoting simple and very coat effective 🤙🏽💎🤙🏽
I gave you as always the thumbs up, would I go this route no. Me myself and I have always preferred the 2X4 route and there are many other routes out there. Is this a cost effect route yes. I personally would go the 2X4 route if you can to do so and can use a power drill to use to insert screws. As I have said yes cost effective but with the 2X4 or similar method there are many additions you can add like doors and others. The only issue that I see in this design is the possibility of the frame shifting over time. I come from the 1970's doing this and never had an issue with a wood constructed frame going out of spec. Although well intentioned think for a bit before going this route. Structurally solid is the goal with the ability to add to the structure. With solid wood you can give and take. No question this is the "Cheap" route in which many might need to setup a nice Aquarium. Don't take this wrong but we need to learn how to use tools safely. We need to get back into the game in the U.S. Period.
So, I got mine done but it looks like all the weight is going to the middle columns, it's a 6 foot tank Iand have the same the same cinder block layout as you, expect an added column, making a T in the middle. Why is all the weight going to the middle? The tank was custom done so it has a plywood board attached to the bottom already

I could add another piece of plywood for the tank too sit on. I don't mind using lumber instead, but I was told plywood was flatter and more even?
@@conman20000 I mean yes and no 2x4 will keep the weight evenly and keep the tank stable my opinion I feel get a 2x4x10 and cut those pieces accordingly at least 3 pieces running the length of the aquarium

As long the aquarium is level it should be fine so you have it on 2x4’s?? Or you just have the plywood on the Cinder blocks only?
