Can’t believe woman are still forced to work through this :(
Exactly smh 🤦🏽
Right !we need pms sick days
Recently my period has made me more exhausted and moody. We should be able to have period sick days. I hate going to work on my period I just want to be home and do nothing.
Exactly..
Companies would start paying women less if they grant us PMS days.. they would rather hire a MAn fr the job.. it sucks
Been feeling severe anxiety, chills, exhaustion, weird loss of appetite, nausea for the past 3/4 days . Today I got my period and feel sooo tired but can’t sleep 😭 hungry but can’t eat and when I do I get full with two bites and then my stomach hurts . Been eating healthy and clean.. adding ginger and chamomile to my daily intake
Girl same, you just described my whole period. My tiredness hasn't gone away and its day 5 of my period. Its really hard to function early right now. Can't sleep when I'm supposed to.
You just described my day! I'm just feeling the same symptoms and even I've been lying on the bed for the whole day, still feeling exhausted and appetite is 0. I'm a 15yr old student rn and I don't wanna ruin my studies but I'm feeling so exhausted that I can't even focus on a lecture.. I'm just feeling like I'm dead lol
You literally just described how I feel exactly, it’s sucks so bad! Btw I’m 36 and this started about a year ago and it happens before every period.
This is me! Its scary! Ive never had this combination before. I hate it. Could it be cus im in my 30s? 😩
@@km5304 I noticed it started getting worse in my 30s. The night sweats are bad.
This is the worst period of my life. 😩
I’m having my period now amd it’s one of the WORST in my life I’m very fatigued having nausea and vomiting and diarrhea
omg, me too! but it on my lasts the first day.
I got some blood work done a few days ago and my vitamin d is really low at 21, ldl cholesterol is at the border line of being high, plus my estrogen number is also high. Most likely this is the reason I feel crummy before my period.
i have period flu right now
it sucks going to school "sick" that's what my friends think but yeah I'm not sick.
And what about vomiting before your period starts? Feeling awful up until you get it. Even getting a slight throat irritation beforehand.
Me rn
My periods have always been awful. I just give up lol. I'm looking forward to not having one the rest of my life!
Anyone get heart palpitations or dizziness?
Yes 😢 I drink plenty of water and take magnesium supplements
Im sick all day and I couldn’t eat it sucks and I have a headache chills (super cold) feeling sick no appetite body hurts
I started with very light symptom, very little pain or cramp, mostly sore and the dragging feeling on my uterus. Then as I got older the pain got stronger then it disappeared, as exchange is the period flu EVERY TIME! Do I want just my uterus to hurt? Or do I want my whole body aches? Tough decision 🤦🏻♀️
Me too I feel like a have a flu 🤒 it’s horrible 😞
During your periods? Or before?
Is your temp high?
@@starlite7785 my body temp has been high for 2 days now and i have it before my period, and i feel terrible
@@jazcena what's ur age?
How many times have I gone for COVID tests because of these symptoms is beyond me!
I have finally connected the two " flu symptoms" and period!
They come mostly a week before the period and intensify a few days before.
I woke up feeling horrible, ( maybe I should get a covid test)
and realised, hold on I had these symptoms last month before my period!!!
Fever, Body Ache, Exhaustion, Headache, sometimes sore throats...
then when my period comes, it all disappears!
Our female bodies are quite fascinating yet so difficult to manage!
Thank you so much for Clarifying!
Hahahahaha this is me every single month. Last year, I thought I had covid every month and worried myself.
This is me every single month after giving birth to my third son. 😭😭😭
This literally happened to me today.. I'm not actually sure if it is this. Last night I had, a fever, body aches (back/legs kinda), dry mouth / throat, runny nose. I know none of ya'll are probs doctors, but does this seem like this or Covid
How many days or weeks before your period do you experience these symptoms? Do you get a dry ticklish cough ?
This is happening to me right now it's terrible.
Wow, I'm 54 years old and period flu explains exactly how I feel body aches, light fever and fatigued like crazy once over all done.
How many weeks or days before do you feel flu like symptoms?
@@starlite7785 Just about a week before and same days of period once its over no more symptoms.
I cannot believe that this medical condition exist! So far, the research I found said it is not a medical diagnosed and not a lot of research have been done on it! I have three children and after each kid, this condition of flu like symptoms has worsen. After my third son, who was born March 2020, my flu like symptoms have gotten so bad. I would get really sick for 1-2 weeks before my period. The s/sx would gradually disappear once my period starts. I am a very active person so this has been a very depressing experience for me. I guess so far, there are no treatment other than taking Tylenol and Motrin for the fever and muscles aches. I guess anti depression medications are prescribed for those that are going crazy with these symptoms. At this point, I’m sick 1-2 weeks every month. Im about to lose my mind, but I am staying strong! 😭
@@marilynvelez8147 do you still experience this? And do you get coughs and dry throat as well?
Me too
I just found out about period flu about 2 months ago...the body aches have roughly during my cycle whew! I never experienced until my late 20s. God bless women, we endure so much.
I think I have this. Past two months when mine comes I’m so tired and my legs and arms aches so bad
Yup it sucks and getting worse for me as I get older! I can only work part time. Only way I feel better is if I follow a strict diet. The American diet is loaded with salt, sugar and bad fats which makes it worse! We have to keep our iron levels in check. Caffeine blocks iron absorption!
We really do. 😩
OMG I experience this for the first time it was so scary because I was wondering what was going on with my body 🥺
Do you still get the period flu and does it go away once you start your period?
Being a women Makes me so angry, but I’m okay with it? We feel everything everyday n play it as we are peachy! I wanna be peachy!! But I’m dying insideeee
I had the worst periods ever when I was in high school. Nausea, diarrhea, and cramps so bad I would often end up leaving school and going to the ER for a shot of narcotics and a rx for pain meds for a week. I took birth control pills to help, which I started after having a ruptured ovarian cyst at 12 years old. My periods leveled out for several years, but eventually returned to even worse ones and I was diagnosed with PMDD. My mood swings were almost psychotic. I never had children and since I was over 40, I started taking Lybrel, which is 28 days of hormone that stopped my periods completely. I'm grateful for all the information available today so other women don't have to go through what I did. Nothing about my periods was normal. Don't feel bad about seeing your physician for anything beyond uncomfortable periods.
Thanks for sharing your story with us.
I have horrible PMDD and I’m 37
Thank you for sharing your story be blessed may what you pray for come to life
It helps to get several colonics to lift you colon off your womb drink water avoid to mich junk and starch
I get so hot, physically weak, restless, emotionally everywhere, and want to take a long bath. I also sometimes feel achy throughout my whole body. And the whole physical and emotional thing is getting worse each time. I used to just get really achy, breast pain, and lower back. Now its alot more.
As I read the comments, I am not the only one, nor have faced the worse.
Me too!!!!!
The week before my period I begin to crave foods like crazy, 3 days before my chest gets really sore to the point I don't even like removing a bra, the first 2-3 days of my period I become so tired I feel like I haven't gotten sleep in a week after that I finally start to feel great again for about 2.5 weeks and then it starts all over again. Haha
You described my exact symptoms! I just tell myself now that I can't be hard on myself for not feeling productive during this time. I get so sleepy for about a week
Yup breast sore to the touch 😢
I would get hot flushes a couple of years ago, but in the recent years, I'm having fever like symptoms.. I feel cold, feel weak a lot and I am suffering from depression so it's hard to tell what's going on...
I feel you on this one. I hope you find someone to unload your stresses to, for happy healing
@@honeyshemoves5893 thank you so much! Yes I do. I have my mom and close friends. I hope you have someone too. If you also face the same fever like symptoms during periods, I suggest you eat eggs (boiled) and also try having dry fruits on a daily basis. And during those days ( pre periods) have something chocolatey around. Or anything sweet!
@@kshamaaghamkar2096 you're not alone I have my period early 😂
I always feel drained/ sick/ nauseous before my cycle! Plus my emotions feel out of wack. It’s crazy. I’ve noticed that blueberry’s help me feel better (weird idk why lol) and sleeping a lot.
Same here 😢 I called in sick today because I got a dizzy spell and I was feeling fatigue. Plus this hot weather in California does not help.
Literally here because I have a fever, my tits feel like they have been used as punching bags, I’m crampy and I’m crying at everything. I wish it would start so I could get some peace.
I had heavy periods with horrible cramps every 28 days from the age of 12. My doctor told me I was lucky as that meant I was fertile. He was right as the first time I had unprotected sex I got pregnant. Luckily I was 28, married and ready for kids anyway ... phew!!!
Same 🫢
Same I got pregnant at 20
Thanks God I was able to find something accurate with the “Period Flu” I get that a lot , a week before my period!!!
Why is it that all information about flu symptoms says to be before the period, not during? I feel these symptoms when I HAVE my period, not before....
Thank you for your comment. This is my second cycle where I've had a fever and chills after getting my period. Most of the info out there only talks about pre period flu like symptoms. I don't feel as helpless now.
Sam here, for the third month in a row, I have flu-like symptoms starting with the 2nd or 3rd day of period :(
Same here. I am on my day 1 now and feeling feverish and super weak and im only controlling myself not to cry 🥹
i have a fever now 🤒 this always happens when im on my period
Hope you feel better soon 🙏🏽. Can I ask how high does your fever get? And if you have other flu like symptoms like a cough?
Is your period flow heavy?
@@starlite7785 Yes I have all those symptoms. Can you explain this? What is the reason behind it. R u doctor?
@@namratakhade1709 no I'm not a doctor . But it's most likely related to our periods. I'm a little relieved to know it's common. I am also in my early 40s so I read it's a premenopausal symptom as well.
Alternating chills & hot flashes, and extreme exhaustion are driving me crazy! I'm 41 and also experience several symptoms that have been mentioned.
My daughter has this she’s 12. Increasing magnesium intake and we’re exercising 1 hour a day.
I have pmdd severe panic attacks exhaustion its so bad I always worry like am I pregnant
Girl me too...
It’s not even just period flu for me. For some reason, I seem to be more susceptible to getting sick before and/or during my period, be it stomach issues or respiratory issues. I contracted covid during one of my cycles in early 2020. Honestly, the daily showers gave me relief. It just seems that whenever I start getting sick, my cycle starts. Weird.
Same here.. I usually try to stay away from people during my period because I would get sick in a min. But my period and Covid together was hell on earth to me. And I even got a boil on my thigh I thought I was going to die 😓
Curious, how is your vitamin d levels? My is so low, I think this is one of the reasons I feel terrible before my period.
@@mrs.s8855 no idea. I haven’t had a blood test in a while.
@@khfan4life365 there is a good article online that talks about deficiency of vitamin d and covid infections.
I feel horrible about one day before my period, just heavy and maybe a migraine, and during the first 2 days of my period i'll have insomnia, night sweats..and my heart rate changes too..much faster beat...like as if i had a fever..i usually feel better towards the 3rd day.
I didn't know that period flu was a thing. It explains lots of things now 😊
For real
Anyone get coughs??
I almost thought i was catching covid😂
@@lillianmsundire3505 how many days before your period do you experience flu like symptoms??
@@starlite7785 not cough but sore throat yes😕
I got a COVID-19 test just to be safe. It turned out negative thank God. For a week now I couldn't tell if I was PMS-ing or combating the flu. Turns out it was both (yes 'period flu' is a thing which I haven't heard of until now).
Did u have the actual flu too your saying????
To balance hormones and prevent some forms of cancer like I have, eat cruciferous vegetables, flaxseeds or Flax oil, and take vitamins B6, B9 and B12.
Great...something IS wrong. Sad tired crampy...weak with headaches and anxiety..possible broken heart on the horizon...and I'm a mom gotta be strong
Watching this knowing I I got period flu😂
I dont have this period flu but when i start at age 35 this come out every month its like im sick everymonth its exausted
It started for me when I turned 35 as well. Every month I’m nauseous and shaky
These period flu symptoms started when I was 35 too! Starts 5 days before my period, as if my period wasn’t bad enough. I get exhausted, fatigued, nausea and stomach aches, slight fever, I lose my appetite but when I get hungry I’m done after a few bites, also my anxiety seems to be worse and this month my legs were fatigued, I’ve never felt that before. Meh 🫤

After hitting my 40s I started getting these period flu symptoms.. Body aches, fatigue, nausea mood swings.. I avoid any alcohol consumption around the time I'm expecting to start because a hangover with these symptoms too I'm down for 3 days... It's the worse. Here it is 1st of 2023 and I I didn't celebrate with friends because my period started Dec 31st🤦🏾♀️ I started home and watched TV
My period started 3 days ago and I've been feverish, dizzy, and nausea and so much left ovarian pain. Been trying to figure out what's going on, I hate to go to the doctor's,
I actually went threw a miscarriage. I black out so when I went to the doctor's and I had HCG levels in my blood but I had the paragaurd IUD so it was a huge mess. Very complicated
Any idea what was causing your symptoms?
This is the first time I have a fever on my period and I’m 19😭😭
I THOUGHT I had COVID and did a test and it was negative.
I’m feeling gross. Usually when I’m sick I can push through. I have no fever and no sore throat but my lower back and legs and achy.
Can some one tell me the symptoms of periods fever is? Coz am having periods with body ache and chills plus sore throat... And now am wondering is it covid??
Whenever I experience period flu my symptoms fade soon after I start my period (but the other stuff like cramps will continue). The actual flu symptoms (for me It's extreme fatigue, fever, nausea, body aches) start to fade quickly after my first day. If they don't fade quickly during your period then you might be sick. Not sure where you're located, but if possible- you should get vaccinated and you wouldn't have to worry whenever you get a random symptom.

I’ve been off bc for a while now after dumping my ex and staying away from men I feel horrible
You don't have to have endometriosis or pcos to be miserable. Highly fertile with an inflammatory diet can wreak havoc just fine. Too bad paid period time isn't available. I've never been able to work high achieving crazy hours cause of it.
I have dry throat, fever ,cloged nose ,feeling cold

When I was younger I used to get the worse symptoms. I’d turn ghostly white, I’d vomit along with the runs and extreme cramps.l, cold sweats. Just turned 30 and I still experience this once in awhile. The worse thing ever to experience

How old are you? I'm 43 and your cycle sounds just like mine. I'm thinking I'm in perimenoupase. Will ask my doctor this month.
Headaches and body aches a week before my period is really disgusting 😔😔
I keep getting pains deep inside the bones throughout my body (legs arms and back) the deep sharp/achy/stabby pains are just like when you have a virus, bad stomch cramps, light headed,, extreamly weak feeling, extremely tired, headache feeling abit sick, moody off the scale.... How to treat period flu 😩
No Cramps…strange right..
Some would say I’m lucky but
Breasts painful to touch
Emotionally like a BI Polar Mess
Agitation, Vomiting, Fever, Chills…like freezing😢😢😢
Anybody wanna switch 😅😅😅
I have horrific cramping, cold sweats, nausea, weakness. I was told it woukd get better as I got older well im 36 and am having my worst period yet.
Lol, watching this after I've just left work early because of period flu 😆
I’ve never had any issue with period ever since it’s started. Maybe occasional cramps on second day but that’s it.
But one day, yes it came all the sudden when I became 39yrs old. Ever since then couple days before the period starts, chills, nausea, joint pain, lower back pain, low fever and extreme exhaustion came in😢That’s when I’ve learned about period flu. One time like others say pain was so bad I could not move out from the bed. Yes we need pms day off. Seriously😢😢😢
I’ve took pms med and tried birth control pill but this one type of birth control pill did not fit me and ended up having rashes all over, so still seeking alternative ways to control pains.
Being a woman is so unfair 🙄

Today is Thursday December 1st, 2022. I think this is what I have. I have been sick in bed since Sunday night with a fever but whole body aches began at a concert on Friday night.
