1. Star Wars original trilogy will always be special for me even if Return of the Jedi had its flaws. 2. Lord of the Rings is the most consistent trilogy of all time. 3. The Man with No Name Trilogy has 3 awesome movies and it's very rare for a 3rd movie to be the best out of the 3 which was The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The only reason it's number 3 because it wasn't originality planned to be this connected trilogy. 4. The Karate Kid has two iconic movies, and the 3rd is ridiculous but so much fun with a character like Terry Silver. 5. Back to the Future, I love the first 2 movies and I'm mixed on the 3rd being set in the old west but still a very decent end to the story overall.
The Back 2 the Future trilogy i must have watched easily 100 times. As a kid. As a teen. As an adult. And even the 3rd one i think has some amazing aspects to it. I cant watch 1 and 2 without watching 3. So much creativity on display. The only other trilogy even close to me is Indiana Jones. And Guardians belongs right next to them.
1. Lord of the rings trilogy 2. Original Starwars trilogy 3. The dark knight trilogy 4. Back to the future trilogy 5. Spider-Man trilogy 6. Dollars trilogy(honourable mention)
Very solid choices. I think this would be very close to mine. Other than Indiana - which has a weak one in number 2 - not a lot make 3 successes. Godfather?
@@aguyfromnothere Yeah, it's hard to find a trilogy that nails it, all three times. And when it does happen they often make more, which could cancel it's trilogy status(example: Toy story)
The weirdest thing about Back to the Future 2 is that when Marty arrives back in 1985 and finds his girlfriend on the swing seat, he either doesn’t notice that she has been recast or wisely accepts the upgrade without comment.
Adam is wrong about the Captain America trilogy. Everything in all three films are somehow connected to Steve Rogers. Late in the third act of Civil War, when Tony is defeated he says "You don't deserve it, My father made that shield". Its one story Adam, no matter how different those films may look to you.
@@aguyfromnothere Civil War was brilliant, you had Steve and Tony at odds over the proposed peace accords. Baron Zemo used Bucky's past to tear the Avengers apart. That's textbook plot structure.
The Back to the future trilogy I watched on loop when I was 13. While it isn’t my favorite of all time, those movies really sparked my love of film. The first one is a Sci-fi classic with a earnest heart and the other two, while not as good, are two excellent follow ups. Love these movies. DO NOT REMAKE THEM!
The Empire strikes back used to be my number one, but nowadays it’s an exact order. First Star Wars 1977, then a very close second is the Empire strikes back, then a distant third is return of the Jedi. I just couldn’t take those teddy bears seriously, I’m sorry.
Yeah BTTF, best trilogy ever. I have just as much love for 2 & 3 as I do 1. I remember watching 1 over and over again and always asking my dad at the end if he thought they’d make another. I remember when he came home one day and told me they were making a second!!! I was ecstatic! Being in the cinema for the 2nd was incredible! Everyone was so invested and loving all the in jokes. And the ending when Marty gets the letter and says “there’s only one man who can help me now”, I was on the edge of my seat! And when it ended and it came up “to be concluded” I nearly lost my shit thinking, “don’t do this to me again”. It was before the internet so I had no idea they’d already filmed it! Same experience for the third. I remember the back and fourth scene with Marty and Tannen as they were having the duel and everyone in the audience was just so tense and invested. I couldn’t be happier with how they ended it. Probably one of my best cinema experiences. 😊
There is a lot of things in BTTF 2 that I don't like. Biff is gross, Loraine is gross, Michael J Fox dressing in drag to play the daughter, Strickland farting on Marty etc... As far as LOTR, I don't like the Shelob. Who is asking for giant spiders in movies? Not me. Also, how did you give that whole speech on LOTR and not mention the effects and performance that created Gollum? Andy Serkis deserves a mention.😅
I was surprised (pleasantly) that Matrix made it. I though you might put that on an honorable mention. I agree also that Neo vs Smith in the little bird park or basketball court or whatever it is is so much fun. I am shocked that someone hasn’t made there CG better for that fight. Idk if you ever tried the Matrix Unreal Engine 5 tech demo game. But Keanu looks crazy good in that so I feel like someone could go in and make the CG with that. For disappointed trilogies. I would probably expect to see maybe Terminator, as the third (which I do enjoy) dropped the ball compared to the first 2. Maybe Alien, as Alien3 was a snooze fest and they killed off the cast of the 2nd off screen. I look forward to next weeks list.
I was 14 when I saw back to the future at the movies. I love that movie, so damn much, I went home and I immediately beg my mom to buy me a skateboard she did not. It was probably a good call on her part.
I make no apologies that The Matrix is one of my favorite trilogies. The 1st one is in my top 4 favorite movies. Say what you will about the 2nd and 3rd but I like that the Wachoskis made the movies how they wanted and wasn't taken away from them and made by a committee how it seems other franchises are done.
Here I am still simping over the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is indeed the Empire Strikes Back of the trilogy, and it's amazing. But all three movies are so strong in their own ways, especially for something that came out in the past decade. Much as I love all of the trilogies you mentioned, and they'll always hold a special place in my heart, I had to shout-out a trilogy that no one's mentioned here and no one really talks about in general, which makes me sad. 😅
Actually like BTTF Part 3 better than Part 2. Part 2 while not bad seems convoluted and a bit too mean-spirited at times. Also, need to replace the Matrix Trilogy on this list with the Man With No Name trilogy.
Just listened on apple pods (a better medium for me than youtube), great takes. Only 2 on your list are ones I dont like: lord of the rings and the matrix series. I just think its boring but different strokes for different folks. Mine as followed: 1) Star Wars 2) Back to the Future 3) Spiderman (yes 3 has its foibles) 4) Captain America (1 is slow but endearing. 3 is a Capt movie. The whole point of the movie banks off of the 2nd with not trusting the government and has an individualist ideology compared to Tony’s wrong collectivist philosophy that leads to authoritarianism). 5) Austin Powers (for the comedy lovers)
Back to the Future trilogy is my favorite of all time. All three films are fantastic. It Feels like one long movie.
1) The Lord of the Rings
2) everything else can just fight over whatever scraps remain.
You're just right.
Factual
1. Star Wars original trilogy will always be special for me even if Return of the Jedi had its flaws.
2. Lord of the Rings is the most consistent trilogy of all time.

Watched BTTF trilogy a couple summers ago. Lindsay was unaware that there were 3. She was in for a surprising treat.
Matrix 2 has probably the greatest fight scene up to that time with Neo fighting in the castle. Amazing.
I obviously made the matrix comment before I watched the entire video. Now I feel like a complete idiot.

1) Back to the Future
2) Godfather
3) OT Star Wars
4) Spider-Man
5) Dark Knight or Indiana Jones
Before-Trilogy (Linklater), Vengeance-Trilogy (Park Chan-wook), Cornetto-Trilogy (Wright), Evil Dead (Raimi)
Indiana Jones. 3 was a perfect ending.
But 2 was an absolute stinker. If 2 was like a 8/10 instead of a 6/10 I would include that in my list.
LoTR is easily the best movie trilogy IMO
5. Indiana Jones
4. Star Wars
3. The Dark Knight
2. Lord of the Rings
1. Back to the Future
I didn't watch the video yet but I assume he picked The Dark Knight Trilogy as his favorite and shouted me out personally!
No, it was the Austin Powers trilogy. But he did mention your name!
The weirdest thing about Back to the Future 2 is that when Marty arrives back in 1985 and finds his girlfriend on the swing seat, he either doesn’t notice that she has been recast or wisely accepts the upgrade without comment.
Never noticed this lol

Civil War is the only weak one in that series. Plot is nonsense. Lots love it though but it feels very weak.

@@88detour Nah Civil War was the Bucky show. Brought the whole thing down for me
Based on the comments, I guess these MCU movies have always been subjective.
Where's Toy Story? All three films are awesome, i mean there's a fourth but so is the case with Indiana Jones
The Back to the future trilogy I watched on loop when I was 13. While it isn’t my favorite of all time, those movies really sparked my love of film. The Guardians trilogy is excellent but I think The Dark Knight trilogy is still the king of comic book trilogies.
In no particular order: (my opinion)
Star Wars OT
Bach to the future
Indiana Jones
Lord of the rings
Karate kid
Karate Kid 3 is so bad it’s hilarious…I can’t put the trilogy in my favorite list for that reason
Karate kid 3 is a guilty pleasure for me! Lol but I hear you. I love the Rush Hour trilogy too!
The Empire strikes back used to be my number one, but nowadays it’s an exact order. First Star Wars 1977, then a very close second is the Empire strikes back, then a distant third is return of the Jedi. I just couldn’t take those teddy bears seriously, I’m sorry.
Yea.. what better way to follow up the master piece that is Empire with.. teddy bears 😂😂 Wtf was George smoking
@@TwistedReality13 probably the same stuff I’m smoking now, my good man!😀
5. Captain America
4. Romero's Dead trilogy
3. Indiana Jones
2. Star Wars
1. Lord Of The Rings
For me:
Star Wars OT
Captain America
Spider-Man trilogies (Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland)
Guardians
That was great, thanks Adam! Looking forward to Blade (Trinity) next week!
Hahaha, you know it!
I’m so happy to see how much love there still is for Back to the Future!!! Now make like a tree, and get out of here!!! 🌲
Bro, you just blew my mind, I honestly thought the first two were made right next to each other instead of 2 and 3 being done at the same time.
Yeah BTTF, best trilogy ever. I have just as much love for 2 & 3 as I do 1. I remember watching 1 over and over again and always asking my dad at the end if he thought they’d make another. Thanks for sharing that. Amazing!
STAR WARS came out in 1977. A NEW HOPE is some later nonsense retcon BS.
Great Video!
John Wick is a trilogy that could make my list.

From Duluth Minnesota…must be why I understand the sliver reference 😆
No Snyderverse trilogy?! Haha. I know you hate it. Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy would definitely make my list, though.

Back to the Future FTW!!!
MJF is a weapon!!
Evil Dead would be in my top 5
I'd take the Matrix trilogy out and put Evil Dead in its place

I absolutely love the 1st 2 Planet of the Apes movies but I really was let down by the third film. That's why I left it off my list.
Crispin Glover declined the role because of pay. He sued because they used BTTF 1 footage of him without his consent.
BACK TO THE FUTURE is a trilogy of diminishing returns. Part II is okay. I've only been able to watch Part III once.
Actually like BTTF Part 3 better than Part 2. Part 2 while not bad seems convoluted and a bit too mean-spirited at times.
Also, need to replace the Matrix Trilogy on this list with the Man With No Name trilogy.
There are two Spider-Man trilogies…. Ultimately I think the modern one wins but best movie overall is old #2.
You weren’t sure Galadriel was Galadriel?🤨🧐

Original Star Wars Trilogi.
Matrix….nah fam. Two and three are subpar. Three is borderline bad.
2 and 3 are disappointing…I can’t put this trilogy in my top five for that reason
So the fourth Matrix doesn't exist yet the two bad Indy films do? Come on, Adam. Just swap Indy instead.
I bet the matrix is going to be on your list of disappointing trilogies
