    Biff didn’t need to know how to drive the time machine. When he stole it all he had to do is drive it out of sight. Then he can take as long as he wants to learn how to use it. Even years. He just has to return it to the time right before he stole it. Which he did and makes us think it was all instant. But we don’t know how long he took before going back to the past. We see him leave and return but not when he goes into the past or how long it took and how long he had the time machine.

    • @ArgonTheAware
      @ArgonTheAware 2 года назад +2

      But why did he bring it back to 2015? If old Biff had left the Delorean someplace else then the changes would have been permanent because Doc and Marty would have no chance of changing them back. It's not like old Biff had a life to go back to since it was young Biff that was going to get all the benefits and old Biff would be erased from the timeline anyway from what he had done

    • @dperry203
      @dperry203 2 года назад +1

      @@ArgonTheAware doc would have just built another time machine. Taking it back and hoping they didn’t notice was the right thing to do. The problem was rich Biff told them when he got it thinking he was going to kill Marty. If they don’t know when he got the almanac they wouldn’t have been able to reverse it. Also by not bringing it back it tells them when he stole it and they could have just prevented that.

    • @ArgonTheAware
      @ArgonTheAware 2 года назад +2

      @@dperry203 How could they have prevented it when the changes were permanent? Doc would have been committed to an insane asylum for 30 years, so how could he build another time machine even if he was still alive after all that time?

    • @dperry203
      @dperry203 2 года назад

      @@ArgonTheAware that’s the magic of time travel
      Paradox. Since Doc didn’t disappear from 2015 as he is the 1985 version. It suggests they are in the correct time line even after Biff changed things. So we have to assume the time line change hasn’t reached them yet or doesn’t effect the time line they are in it just creates an alternate one they are not in until they leave it. Which is why we never see the time line change while they are in it. We just see evidence of it changing on match books and newspapers. Which means Doc could have stayed in 2015 and created another.
      Also something I realized once I never seen anyone mention is in 1955. There are 4 time machines there at the same time. The one Marty took there, the one Biff takes there, the one Marty and Doc take there to stop Biff, and the one in the cave Doc put there in 1885. Just an amazing trilogy that never gets old!

    • @Cheepchipsable
      @Cheepchipsable 2 года назад

      It's just a regular car, and the settings probably work like a digital clock, maybe it has a history you can scroll through.
      Given how the time stream is depicted in the first movie, it seems like it takes a week for it to catch up. Marty was in the future from Saturday at 1:30ish am to about 10 pm the following Saturday, (almost disappearing about 9 pm), though it's possible that timer didn't start until later Saturday when he was hit but the car instead of his father.

    Crazy thing is: the Chicago Cubs (in real life) hadn't won the world series in 100 years ... and they nearly made it there in 2015 - just like the film. They won it the very next year, 2016.
    So this movie, for all it gets wrong about what 2015 would look like, and the whole plot of the sports predictions, nearly predicted the actual future in that regard.

    Notice that Jennifer was played by a different actress. Elizabeth Shue is the new Jennifer in this movie.
    This change isn't because of anything bad or drama on set.
    Claudia Wells, who played Jennifer in the first movie, learned that her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Instead of reprising her role, she chose instead to stop filming movies to go be with her family.

    Funnily enough, this movie kind-of predicted the Cubs winning the World Series. Except they won in 2016 against the Cleveland Indians, breaking the "Billy Goat Curse." The Curse lasted 71 years, from 1945 to 2016. During game 4 of the 1945 World Series at Wrigley Field. Billy Goat Tavern owner William Sianis’ pet goat, was bothering other fans, and so the pair were asked to leave the stadium. Outraged, Sianis allegedly declared, "Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more." They went on to lose that series to the Detroit Tigers and didn't appear in another World Series game until they broke a 3 games to 1 deficit against Cleveland and won in game 7 of the 2016 World Series.
    Also, BTTF2 was filmed in 88-89 and Miami didn't have a professional baseball team until the 1993 expansion. They have won two World Series' in 97 and 03.

    You guys have some of the best reactions online. You watch and enjoy the movies without making all kinds of excess commentary that a ton of reactors make. I can figure it out and don't need the overanalysis, which is why The Homies is so much fun. But something happened today that never happened before. Well, I listen on audiophile speakers made by Monitor Audio, which are small and made for use with computers, so I know what I'm hearing isn't because I'm listening on cheap computer speakers.
    One thing about The Homies videos is this tinny sound that sounds like I'm listening on a small radio, but today, at about 24 minutes in, THE SOUND GOT REALLY GOOD AND CLEAR AND HIGH-FIDELITY. It then dropped out and came back a few times. I don't know what's going on with your production, but, if you're playing with production settings, keep doing it. It sounded terrific for a few minutes. I've also noticed this tinny sound with Magy. But today it kept lapsing into really nice sound. Is Larry playing with knobs in the background? Honestly, I'll watch no matter what because you guys are a lot of fun to watch.

    • @bigdream_dreambig

      Sometimes they use the audio straight from the video source (that's the clear one) and other times they use the audio that comes through the reactor's microphone (that's the tinny one because it's a recording of their speakers' output).

We should have actual hoverboards in 10 years - though flying cars may not ever be normal. There have been a couple models of flying cars for sale since the '90s, but they're not really practical for the average person, and you need a pilot's license to fly one.

    The biggest plot hole for part two is that when Marty travels to the 2015 he shouldn't have been able to see the older version of himself since he "disappeared" from time as soon as he and doc left 1985. Even if you say that he eventually comes back to 1985 at the end of part three, he lost his fear of being called a chicken, doesn't race Needles and get into the accident and hurt his hand so his future self that had to quit playing his music won't be created. Speaking as someone who was around back when this movie was made, their predictions weren't all that illogical. Back then, we were constantly being told that flying cars were just around the corner. They were the biggest advancement people were waiting for. By the 90s, I think people just got tired of hearing it and stopped caring. Priorities shifted to the internet and better computers. Most of the other stuff, like 3D holograms, being able to give voice commands to your TV, etc., isn't all that far off or actually *did* come true.
      I will admit, though, that the Mr. Fusion reactor on the DeLorean is pretty ridiculous. To expect that we'd A) have nuclear fusion under our belts and B) be able to make it a tabletop consumer product that can use garbage as fuel shows that whoever came up with that idea had no understanding whatsoever of how fusion actually works.

    The best movie of the trilogy in my opinion. This movie allude allot to the classic movie It's A Wonderful Life from 1946 so that movie I think is one of the first time travel or alternative reality movie. What does this movie does first I think is showing the first movie from different perspective which is so cool. You should also watch Frequency 2000 another great time travel movie.

      The whole "Pottersville" style Alternate Timeline and going back into the day of the School Dance and night of the thunderstorm from the first movie to set right what biff set wrong and seeing it all from a different perspective was always the best part of this movie.

      My favourite is and always will be Back to the Future. It is the tightest and best-told story. This film is wonderful and the second best for me. I love the intricacy of the time-travel in this one, it is definitely the most intricate on that front of the three. Nothing wrong with Part 3, but it is a little simpler and that costs it a bit with me.

    32:00 that’s one thing that gets me..
    I mean it’s obvious from a film making point of view to try to get the book back during the events of the first film…right when it was given to young biff
    But considering there was 3 years between when he got the book, and when he won his first million on that first race on his 21st birthday…
    Why not have just gone to some point BEFORE his 21st bday and nicked the book then?
    Or snuck up behind him as he arrived at the racecourse, and tap on his shoulder then zap him with that sleep inducer thing, nick the book and leave…as they can see from the newspaper he had the book with him…
    I mean the film would have been far less awesome had they gone with that plan…but when you wanna make sure to ensure the best possible success why not…?

      if he got searched by the cops for whatever reason, that’s it…but a hand written sheet…can just be dismissed by biff as “these are my picks for the day, and didn’t wanna forget”…maybe cos his family member is a psychic or something and gives him suggestions he writes down to take with him…
      Still, this movie is awesome and all, and I’m not “complaining” it’s just one of those things you look at and think “uhm…if it weren’t a movie, the plan wouldn’t make much sense”

      Once he realised how valuable it was, he probably would have hidden it, then just gone and bet on an individual basis. He doesn't need to take the book to every event he places a bet.
      Plus I think him betting and constantly winning huge amounts is just likely to get him banned, or make some fundamental change to the gambling industry. If he kept sending bookies broke what would happen then?
      We are not meant to think too deeply about it.
      Being super rich, why would he still be interested in Lorraine?

      He recognises it earlier in the move as a DeLorean, I think he has driven one before and the time machine just requires you to enter the date you want. Since Biff already knew it was a time machine he would know that entering the date was the date you wanted to travel to.

      I think he matched his lines from the first movie pretty well (they probably MADE him do it) but whenever he recites lines from the movies now he insists on doing it differently. In the BTTF video game, where he does the voice, there’s a reenactment of the parking lot scene where the way he says “you’re gonna see some serious shit” is very different.
