Yes, we do have self-lacing shoes in a limited quantity. And the one-wheeled boards we currently have are directly inspired by the hoverboards in the movie. We should have actual hoverboards in 10 years - though flying cars may not ever be normal. There have been a couple models of flying cars for sale since the '90s, but they're not really practical for the average person, and you need a pilot's license to fly one.
There are certainly parts that I enjoy a great deal (after they return to 1955, particularly) but, to me, it's easily the weakest entry in so many ways.
The second one aged very badly. The underlying plot is mostly fine but there is just so much nonsense going on in the "future" and there are too many major plot holes.

The biggest plot hole for part two is that when Marty travels to the 2015 he shouldn't have been able to see the older version of himself since he "disappeared" from time as soon as he and doc left 1985. Even if you say that he eventually comes back to 1985 at the end of part three, he lost his fear of being called a chicken, doesn't race Needles and get into the accident and hurt his hand so his future self that had to quit playing his music won't be created. Infact older Jennifer and therefore his kids shouldn't exist either.
In the first film they established that it takes about a week for time to reset itself. Marty exists in 1955 about a week before he almost ceases to exist. There are so many variables. Stop overthinking it.

Note that the initial scenes were completely re-shot with the older Michael J. Fox and Elisabeth Shue as the new Jennifer, so that they would fit in with the rest of the movie.
the explanation i see most is the "ripple effect". problem is, if thats the case it is very inconsistent in the trilogy. like at the end of this one the newspapers and matchbook change instantly after burning the almanac.
Crispin Glover sued the shit out of them for using footage of him (seen later in the film) from the first movie without giving him credit or payment. Completely changed film laws.
yeah, and then he never shut up about it. Every interview i've ever seen of him when asked on this movie is always about how he was "done dirty"... how they "stole my likeness" with the stand in replacement and "cheated me" out of getting paid for using footage of him from part 1. You want to get paid for a seconds worth of previous film footage showing you dancing in a movie you weren't even working on and refused to come back to for superficial reasons, forcing the directors to get a lookalike and a tombstone to stand in for you? No sympathy.
@@maskedhero6425 Don't you think he might have had a bigger part had he returned. I'm not sure asking for a higher pay after helping the producers earn a crapload of cash counts as "superficial reasons". They went out of their way to make it seem like he was still appearing in the film. Dave Prowse was done dirty by Lucas and the producers in the first Star Wars.
Speaking as someone who was around back when this movie was made, their predictions weren't all that illogical. Back then, we were constantly being told that flying cars were just around the corner. They were the biggest advancement people were waiting for. By the 90s, I think people just got tired of hearing it and stopped caring. Priorities shifted to the internet and better computers. Most of the other stuff, like 3D holograms, being able to give voice commands to your TV, etc., isn't all that far off or actually *did* come true. I will admit, though, that the Mr. Fusion reactor on the DeLorean is pretty ridiculous. To expect that we'd A) have nuclear fusion under our belts and B) be able to make it a tabletop consumer product that can use garbage as fuel shows that whoever came up with that idea had no understanding whatsoever of how fusion actually works.
It is actually pretty crazy how the Chicago Cubs hadn't won the World Series of Major League Baseball since 1908. In this movie, they predict they would win in 2015. They were ONLY 1 year off because the Cubs would finally win the Series again in 2016, 108 years later!
Hover boards could never turn hovering in air because there is no friction. Turning on a hover board would not change direction and keep the person still moving in the same direction. Ellie, You might like the movie A Bronx Tale from 1993. Its a nice Father son movie. Larry might like it as well. Best of luck.

The best movie of the trilogy in my opinion. This movie allude allot to the classic movie It's A Wonderful Life from 1946 so that movie I think is one of the first time travel or alternative reality movie. What does this movie does first I think is showing the first movie from different perspective which is so cool. You should also watch Frequency 2000 another great time travel movie.
The whole "Pottersville" style Alternate Timeline and going back into the day of the School Dance and night of the thunderstorm from the first movie to set right what biff set wrong and seeing it all from a different perspective was always the best part of this movie. That and the flying DeLorean Time Machine of course!
My favourite is and always will be Back to the Future. It is the tightest and best-told story. This film is wonderful and the second best for me. I love the intricacy of the time-travel in this one, it is definitely the most intricate on that front of the three. Nothing wrong with Part 3, but it is a little simpler and that costs it a bit with me.

32:00 that’s one thing that gets me.. I mean it’s obvious from a film making point of view to try to get the book back during the events of the first film…right when it was given to young biff But considering there was 3 years between when he got the book, and when he won his first million on that first race on his 21st birthday… Why not have just gone to some point BEFORE his 21st bday and nicked the book then? Or snuck up behind him as he arrived at the racecourse, and tap on his shoulder then zap him with that sleep inducer thing, nick the book and leave…as they can see from the newspaper he had the book with him… I mean the film would have been far less awesome had they gone with that plan…but when you wanna make sure to ensure the best possible success why not…?

Once he realised how valuable it was, he probably would have hidden it, then just gone and bet on an individual basis. He doesn't need to take the book to every event he places a bet. Plus I think him betting and constantly winning huge amounts is just likely to get him banned, or make some fundamental change to the gambling industry. If he kept sending bookies broke what would happen then? We are not meant to think too deeply about it. Being super rich, why would he still be interested in Lorraine?

Some people say this movie has holes in the logic, and it does. But you pointed out the worst one - how was Biff smart enough to figure out the time machine? xD ...Maybe in his old age he got a tiny bit smarter.
He recognises it earlier in the move as a DeLorean, I think he has driven one before and the time machine just requires you to enter the date you want. Since Biff already knew it was a time machine he would know that entering the date was the date you wanted to travel to.
It's a regular car with a digital clock, plus he lives in a world with flying cars. I have the impression Biff might be mechanically inclined, even though it's not shown. If Marty can work it out, I'm sure it's not that hard.

You know, it's a trivial thing, but it always bugs me that Christopher Lloyd seems unwilling to read lines he's said before the same way he said them before.
I think he matched his lines from the first movie pretty well (they probably MADE him do it) but whenever he recites lines from the movies now he insists on doing it differently. In the BTTF video game, where he does the voice, there’s a reenactment of the parking lot scene where the way he says “you’re gonna see some serious shit” is very different.
He might actually have spent months to figure it out. All that mattered was that he returned to 2015 just after the moment he first stole it, so Doc and Marty would not notice it had been gone.
Cenindo Now that’s the most plausible explanation I’ve ever heard. Although, that’s still assuming that Biff could figure out how to work the DeLorean at all.
But that is the key point where the film breaks ... once he had given the book to himself in the past he wouldn't have been able to come back to the same future they were in to return the car!!

FUN FACT: Marty's Girlfriend is Madeline Stillwell from THE BOYS
holy SHIT you're right
Adventures in Baby Sitting too
Can’t forget Ali from Karate Kid and Cobra Kai.
Ive had a thing for Elizabeth Shue ever since The Karate Kid :) 💘💖🤣😂🤣 She was also in The Saint with Kilmer, and Hollow Man with Kevin Bacon!! :)
And she was in Piranha 3D
(which had a cameo of Christopher Lloyd, who played a doctor there too)
For me this is the best out of the 3 Movies
it was always my favorite too, but recently i discovered that most people actually rate them : 1 > 3 > 2
There are certainly parts that I enjoy a great deal (after they return to 1955, particularly) but, to me, it's easily the weakest entry in so many ways.
The second one aged very badly. The underlying plot is mostly fine but there is just so much nonsense going on in the "future" and there are too many major plot holes.
@@Klayhamn part one will always be the best because without it's success they wouldn't have made two or three which they made around the same . So it's 1-3-2
@@fnx427 yeah the storyline went into to many directions unlike 1&3 which didn't change and get bundle up
Nike did make the self lacing shoes. My friend has a pair of them.
Man, 30 years later, the Biff Tannen documentary still holds up as an explanatory device.
Thomas F Wilson is an amazing actor. Incredible range but his performance in this trilogy detonated his career.
Fun fact: Crispin Glover, who played Marty's dad in the first movie sued because they used his likeness on a different actor for this movie.
And that set a wide precedent for actors and people getting compensated and needing permission for their likeness to be used.
The stuttering video Cafe "waitress" is a wink to a TV show in the 80s called MA Headrom. He was a computer generated character that would stutter at times.
*Max Headroom
That’s not a waitress; that’s supposed to be Michael Jackson (played by an actor who got plastic surgery to look like him)
@@ReidBlakley all the TV waitresses attending the Cafe 80s were a parody of Max Headroom. But with famous 80s characters like Michale Jackson and Ronald Reagan.
Max Headroom came from a british cyber punk movie. Blip-verts.
"Oh they must have hit you over the heard hard *this time*"
Far out lol
"Jennifer, aren't you a sight for sore eyes.....although I gotta say, you look like a completely different person!"
You have to see the first JAWS, Ellie. 🦈
FUN FACT: the role of MARTY´S DAUGHTER is MICHAEL J. FOX himself ,damn it
Well that's pretty obvious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Some people didn't realize it. I found it was easy to see it was Michael J. Fox.
13:10 For those who don't know, that's Charles Fleisher the voice of Roger Rabbit.
Peru present. Good morning, thank you for always giving little hearts to my comments that I always say from my heart. I know that you can achieve all of you never give up despite not having many views, but I still support you with my heart. Let's go for the 100k subs. Hugs and kisses.
Needles is Flea from The Red Hot Chili Pepers.
Note that the initial scenes were completely re-shot with the older Michael J. Fox and Elisabeth Shue as the new Jennifer, so that they would fit in with the rest of the movie.
Finally! Can't wait for Your reaction to part 3!
Ellie didn’t notice that Jennifer changed at the beginning.. she turned into Elizabeth Shue 😉
I'm so looking forward to your reaction to Back to the Future Part 3 😁
It's Also weird that 2015 didn't change after old bif went back to 1955
the explanation i see most is the "ripple effect". problem is, if thats the case it is very inconsistent in the trilogy. like at the end of this one the newspapers and matchbook change instantly after burning the almanac.
I needed your positive energy today, thank you so much for being you!!
@@maskedhero6425 he should be suing to remove his dancing from Friday the 13th part 4!
@@maskedhero6425 Jesus, settle down Princess. Don't need to get so excited.
It's hilarious to think that that's what the Producers thought life would be like in 2015.
Still want my hoverboard GDIT!!! 🤣😂🤣😂
To be fair guys, they got this ready in *1987*.
The same year Star Trek TNG STARTED!
Actually, it's not. They were like: "We're probably gonna get everything wrong, so just make whatever crazy stuff you can up".
They were having fun with it more than anything.
Hey Ellie, luv u and luv the channel..great to see someone watch probably my favourite 80's Movie (apart from Terminator and Scarface when i was older) i loved as a kid............glad u really liked it....crazy movies....whats everone's most iconic lines from these movies? .....'Manure, i hate Manure' Great Scott' 'thats heavy Doc'
Fun Fact: the kid with the weird hat in the cafe playing videogames is Elijah Wood, Frodo from The Lord of The Rings
I don't believe that fact falls under the umbrella of "Fun"
They cut out a scene from 2015, when Biff returns the car, he disappears. Apparently Loraine shot Biff and killed him in the 90s.
Actually... Those shoes 4:26 exist... They're just so expensive that nobody can afford to buy them. Here a video of the shoes:

32:00 that’s one thing that gets me..
I mean it’s obvious from a film making point of view to try to get the book back during the events of the first film…right when it was given to young biff
But considering there was 3 years between when he got the book, and when he won his first million on that first race on his 21st birthday…
Why not have just gone to some point BEFORE his 21st bday and nicked the book then?
Or snuck up behind him as he arrived at the racecourse, and tap on his shoulder then zap him with that sleep inducer thing, nick the book and leave…as they can see from the newspaper he had the book with him…
I mean the film would have been far less awesome had they gone with that plan…but when you wanna make sure to ensure the best possible success why not…?
He could copy the book pages and hide them somewhere.
@@Сайтамен oh yeah, I get that’s the first thing many would think of…but if that were so…wouldn’t he have just copied the details he needed for that day at the track rather than TAKING THE WHOLE BOOK
if he got searched by the cops for whatever reason, that’s it…but a hand written sheet…can just be dismissed by biff as “these are my picks for the day, and didn’t wanna forget”…maybe cos his family member is a psychic or something and gives him suggestions he writes down to take with him…
Still, this movie is awesome and all, and I’m not “complaining” it’s just one of those things you look at and think “uhm…if it weren’t a movie, the plan wouldn’t make much sense”
@@trayolphia5756 Book is easier to read, and as know, he can mask it for a magazine. Plus nobody would believe that this thing is actually from the future.

This movie was my childhood favorite, up until Terminator 2. Thanks for reacting to the trilogy :) You should react to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure if you haven't seen it
Some people say this movie has holes in the logic, and it does.
Great sequel🤩

Great Films way before it’s time just imagine them being made with today CGI
No. The fact that they didn't need CGI speaks VOLUMES about how much we rely TOO MUCH on CGI.
@@Certifiable depends on the type and genre of the films in my opinion, Back To The Future is a film that would have CGI in and with today’s technology it would be epic.

Where are you from?
I’m with Ellie. I never have, don’t, and never will buy that Biff could’ve figured out how to use the time machine that easily.
Dan D That’s why Biff was in pain when he brought the car back, reacting to the change in the timeline (if you didn’t already know).
@@windowsdan1 Some have argued there is a ripple effect which delays the transformation of reality.
But let's just say it would be a very different movie if they never got the chance to make things right.
