I would love an influencer to one day say "you know what, I won't be buying anymore bags this year, as I already have 10...same for shoes and dresses". I know it is their "job" to do unboxings. BUT Josie has come to the point in her career where I believe the majority of her viewership, likes the surroundings, her garden, her cooking/baking, her dogs etc etc more so than NEW STUFF. But I could be wrong.

@user-os7om7ef9k Because that would be the equivalent of just not showing up to work. That's like telling a car salesmen not to show people the cars. How then would he sell any cars and earn his living?

I would also love to see some thrifting! I only have four handbags ( 2 fancy ) and 2 large straw ha. But I’m not mad about what she buys ( I’ve seen sooo much worse on the tube )
Josie’s got a totally different life than me ha darn! I’m watching my consumption I also watch a lot of vids about overconsumption…but I think for a luxury influencer ? Josie does seem the most PRACTICAL of them! Which I appreciate 💕

@@sharondavis258 No , not quite, because Josie is the brand, not the brand she promotes if that makes sense. So she would still have as many viewers without having to buy as many bags/shoes etc. To say if she didn't buy another bag or pair of shoes you wouldn't, or that you would stop watching her videos....well, I don't think you could make either sentence.

Charlie, you are to be commended on the refurbishment of Strawtop 2. It is beautiful. You can see the care and thoughtfulness that has gone into it..❤ You have every right to be proud of what you have achieved! I'm sure you have already planned to add a coffee table and too occasional tables for the lounge. I look forward to seeing all the finishing touches! Having stayed in quite a few B&B's, I can tell you that comfortable seating, beds lighting etc. make an enormous difference...as does a TV. I like to be connected to the world, so having the ability to catch up with the news etc. Is valuable. Providing a basket of staples is , I think, really conveying to your guests how important their comfort and well being is to you. It will always set you apart.Well done you two!

I absolutely loved Charlie’s detailed tour of the cottage. I appreciate his eye for detail and the choices that were made make this cottage so different from ST No. 1. The reclaimed wood and tattered antique chairs give it a more masculine touch and I absolutely adore it. Wishing you much success on this rental ❤

Decorating with what you like instead of what is trendy makes for a more homey (homely) experience. As an American, I would want the experience of a cottage of olde...not trendy/contemporary. One can stay in a hotel for that. It all looks charming! ❤❤❤

You should call Strawtop 1 “Dexter” since he was your first and Strawtop 2 “Dickens” since he was your second ☺️🐶🐶

I found just the opposite. Josie is not wrong to interrupt or hurry him along. I personally don’t understand what he is saying and I lost interest. He goes on about things for so long, that it would take him weeks to run out of breath. But his pride and energy are endearing. Leave it to the pro who is the gorgeous, beautifully spoken, dog-loving Josie. Bad mistake to tell Josie not to cut him short. Does anyone know where Charlie is from? Australia or another place in GB? ❤😊

Hi darling Josie and Charlie. First of all, I absolutely adore you both and love watching you. Just curious as to what type of work does Charlie do is he builder or contractor? He has some amazing ideas. My suggestion for the mugs in the kitchen to avoid the paint chipping would be to get an old piece of barn or driftwood, and screw it into the wall underneath that shelf and then add your hooks for the mugs so it will be leaning against the big wood plank or rectangular long piece that would go from end to end. Or you can get a piece of wood painted and sort of sand to make it look a little old and shabby chic style that will protect your paint and wall. Hope that helps.😍❣️ I live in Atlanta, Georgia, and I am so impressed with your channel and I’ve shared your RUclips videos with so many others. You are an absolute adorable princess at heart.😘💕💜

Strawtop Cottage 2 has a very cute and cozy feel. I work in construction, and there are a few small details I would do such as soft-close doors, you have soft-close drawers. Under the kitchen sink that drawer doesn't seem to have full extension slides. I don’t really understand the Aga when you could just get a traditional-looking induction stove that is much safer and boils water so fast.
Regardless of induction or gas a hood is a must.
The bathroom doesn't look like it has an exhaust fan to help get rid of smells, and steam, and prevent mold. I really like the motion sensor fans they are very quiet and that way it actually gets used and stays on until the humidity levels are low.
The other thing we always put into homes is soft closed toilet seats I know that may sound silly.
The garden looks lovely it's very inspiring. I have been working on my garden for a few years, it's always a work in progress.

I think a rod on the shelf to hang the cups would be good, you could also at a kitchen roll holder on that too. Or the stand alone cup stack unit for cups. ( Next have them) but it does look beautiful. Love the sun room, yes need a table and chair set there for sure. Love it ❤

FYI Josie - the term for that is ‘harvested’ - not ploughed 😊 Ploughing is when you turn over the ground so the the soil is exposed again. Also a lot of farmers are doing less ploughing now (because it damages the soil structure) and are now ‘harrowing’ the ground after harvest because it’s supposedly better for the soil. Just telling you this because you’re a country girl now 😊🌿

    • @HannahBarta
      @HannahBarta 12 дней назад

Yes! And a wheat field goes through several harvests - combined first to remove the grain then swathed (which is what you showed us via drone) to cut the straw into windrows, which are eventually turned into straw bales :)

    • @everythingglittered8149
      @everythingglittered8149 12 дней назад +1

Well in the U.K. the terminology is that the field is only ‘harvested’ the one time - when we use the Combine Harvester. Perhaps it’s described differently in other countries? On my family farm we just call the second part (getting the straw) as ‘baling’. Either way it is a very beautiful time of year - and the farming calendar and all its changes is (the changing colours and scents) one of the most beautiful things about living in the countryside.

I have three Airbnbs. Been hosting for about 7 years. It’s a fine line between nice, but not too nice. People do destroy things. I used to buy higher quality bedding and towels but got tired of replacing. People don’t really seem to care either way. I no longer have anything in Airbnb that I’d be seriously upset if it broke or got ruined. More than once they’ve broken mirrors on the wall. I wouldn’t add many accessories. More for people to break. Good luck!

People who have stayed aren’t going to mention it so as not to be offensive and pedantic but if the answer is would it be better, the majority of people I’m sure would not ‘request to have your wedding photo there’ it’s not adding anything to your beautiful cottage.
Josie you are doing the right thing. ❤

Josie, I think that is a great question regarding purchasing branded merchandise. If you would not buy an item without the branding, I think it’s extremely prudent to just let it go. Just my opinion, of course, but just think by asking yourself that question before making a purchase, you will end up spending your money more sensibly.😊 I did think the second brown suede purse was stunning. The cottage looks darling.

The late 90s and early 2000s are back in full swing. chunky uggs (versus chunky doc martins) we would wear them with tight thigh, nearly bell bottom leg opening, ultra low rise pants you needed a Brazilian wax to wear comfortably. The death hair band is back. Anyone complaining about millennials wearing the modesty tank top, the ultra ultra low rise was the reason. we couldn't sit down without showing off our underwear so we wore a tank top in high school to pass dress codes and then the pants would get lower the next season because of it.

You both are just so lovely!
I absolutely love vintage, antiques and history so I love watching your cottages renovation vlogs.
The second cottage is looking amazing- just because of personal taste, the first one is my favourite. Also, I’m not a fan of yellowish paint- but that is just personal taste. Well done both of you- you are doing so great👏🏻

re:cottages - could you add a brass ring towel bar next to the sink? Nice to have a towel right there for a hand towel.

The cottage looks so cozy and inviting. Can you walk to the village ? Would love a tour of the immediate area. What shops, restaurants, and sights are in the area.

I love Strawtop 2, I do think possibly a rectangle shaped table may work better in the garden room? It may give you a little bit more space for a small armchair? Worth using masking tape to map out a table on the floor before purchase!

I have holiday lets and I am a dog owner, however I don’t take dogs. It’s so much easier to keep clean especially in the winter. I get 50 bookings a year and get so many people who have allergies to pets. It works well for us in a seaside location. Your cottage is stunning.

I would put mirrors in the fire chimney openings to add some extra light in to the room. Then style them a bit

Love watching your channel and I expect someone may of asked this before.
I was born and brought up in the Cotswolds most of our ancestors are buried in local church yards ..
the village where I grew up has air B &Bs .
This takes away the opportunity for local young people to purchase cottages houses in their villages. And has an affect on work schools and local news agents and family pubs.
Do you consider these factor’s? I’m sure Charle does :)

Have you thought about fitting a pocket door where you are planning to remove the door into the kitchen. You certainly have the space for sliding the door to the left?

Wait, you get vegetables from a service 3 times a week, plus from Daylesford, what do you do with all that excess garden bounty? Assume you donate? Sorry to say, that reclaimed leather chair does not present well.
