Yes someone else who didn’t like The Atlas Six! All I see are rave reviews and I hated it 😂

I also was not a huge fan of These Violent Delights but the second book was a lot better. Still wouldn't really recommend it though lol

@@lexieslibrary I get intimidated by hyped books. So I definitely take hyped tiktok books with a grain of salt even more.

@meganshultz8909 I've definitely learned my lesson by now lol. I think These Violent Delights was the first BookTok hype book I fell prey to 😅

I didn't go beyond A Winter's Promise either for the same reasons. I appreciate your sharing why this series and the others didn't work for you. I only read the first few chapters of A Curse So Dark & Lonely. I need to be in love with main characters. Gorgeous prose and interesting world building is great but yeah, I've got to love the main characters. And if everything is all bleakness? No thank you.

Yeah, a Winter's Promise was just one big bummer after the next for me. I can do it for 1 book, but not 4!

I really liked this video. Its honest and candid. I feel you when you say that you feel bad and really want to love some beloved series... Because I do the same. 😅
Not trying to convince you but I feel like you asked a question and it needs some answer. This is my humble opinion so definitely not how everyone else feels. I loved the atlas six from the moment I read it. My reason for liking it is that, I am an atmospheric reader rather than a character based or plot reader. None of the main characters are supposed to be likeable hence that is the struggle of the reader as you try to make up your mind on who you think should leave. Ultimately it becomes so hard to root for anyone but somewhere in the book you start both hating and yet loving the characters. Do you root for them ?No! but you still understand where they are coming from and that is just soo amazing for an author to make you feel that way. Another thing is how deeper she went to make the abilities so much epic than how we usually see these same abilities. By combining concepts of physics and time theory, it was just so much more interesting and as a research student I couldn't get enough of it. I'll stop here. 😅didn't meant to write an essay but I just wanted to let you know from a fan's perspective. Also don't read Alone with you in the Ether. That book sucks!

I totally respect what Olivie Blake was doing with The Atlas Six, it just wasn't for me unfortunately 😅 I need to love the characters to feel invested. I'm so glad she's found such a large and supportive audience though!

@@lexieslibrary so far I loved her Atlas six series but hated Alone with you in the ether standalone. Today I just bought one for my enemy and will see how that is but it looks promising from chapter 1...
