Remember when Megatron yawned? It was so spectacular that they had to animate it in 2D to get the emotion across.
I love this guy. And that's one of my favorite Megatron alt modes. I see it as some sort of capital-ship design. Something Transformers could build as some big starship.
I think this is what movie 1 Megatron's alt mode was based on.
One of my favourite Megatron toys. (although I know this is a different version). I remember seeing the commercial about it being a Wal-Mart exclusive and they had the CGI model of the character pop up behind the kids holding the toy.

I think a better "hyper mode" would have been if you could swing the whole backpack over his shoulder therefore having ALL his guns forward in robot mode.
Huh, I didn't realize he started straight up as galvatron in super link. I figured he started over as Megatron, but I supposed that's why out the gate he was similar to g1 galvatron.
+Jetfire48 It was the marketing scheme back then, the new toy comes out and people buy it cause it's new. Then it gets repainted into some awesome G1 colors and people buy it again for the repaint. They did the same with Megatron/Galvatron in Cybertron, first toy had crazy colors, second was G1 Megatron's.

He has repainted to Galvatron, and redecoed to the Shattered Glass Megatron as a heroic decepticon, he has came baggaged with thundercracker.
My favorite Megatron figure remains the Cybertron/Galaxy Force Leader Class Megatron. It was my first, and I've had all of the leaders since that one, and none of them were as badass, intricate, or evil looking as that one.
I'm not sure if you got spammed this a lot, but I have this toy and there was a bit of articulation you neglected to show. He actually DOES have a bicep swivel. I know because I have rotated them to give the classic "Arm Cannon Aim" look that pretty much 65.555% of all transformers fans have done with a Galvatron/Megatron. Also, his shoulders can rotate 360° if you get the wings out of the way of his shoulder cannons, and they can go 90° without having to worry about clearance. If you already knew, that's great. If you didn't, I'm glad I informed you :)
+CyborgeBolt I was actually going to mention about the bicep swivel too when I heard him getting to that part cause I too have the toy [or the actually Takara Tomy Superlink equivalent of it] and had messed with him all over to know what all it could do. Beat me to the comment button.
Energon Megatron is my first and only Megatron toy I have that's still in my collection since I was 9. It's one of my favorite toys from my childhood and I say the figure has aged pretty well. I recently found the tank in a random box in the basement that I never really cared for.
apparently this was called megatron here cause they thought the name was more recognizable and therefore more marketable and for those wondering what his two pack partner was DELUXE OPTIMUS PRIME that's right an optimus with a shirt mode and a pants mode
in my opinion, the color doesn't look like Megatron. it looks like Buzz Lightyear.

I actually have the stupid big class version of this guy and I won't lie, I'm actually tempted to get this version, cause the smaller size just makes the figure feel.... somehow better in my eyes. I guess the level of detail/engineering just fits this size better.
His jet mode is a literal SkyQuake

IMO this is best Megatron(Galvatron) design of any series, it's basically a perfect evolution and upgrade of G1 Galvatron

The LED worked better on the US Leader Class version because the sword was entirely clear, not green. Not a whole lot better, but it lit up more than the one reviewed here.

I had one of these. It came in a two-pack with the Energon Optimus Prime. I think both of those are in storage somewhere...
It has a lot of g1 glavatron eleaments. The.mean guns are the same shape as galvatron's fusion canon
I tried to fanmode that combiner wars legends Shockwave into Energon Shockblast's "Laser Tank" mode. It turned out badly.

Didn't this come with the Deluxe Class Optimus Prime? I really want to see that figure combined with Rodimus in both modes just because I like the idea of two Primes, even though Rodimus wasn't a Prime in that series, combining together. They have an updated G1 feel to them especially fighting against a homage to the G1 Galvatron.

Hey @TJOmega I have an Energon Megatron that looks different in size and color. The White paint is a metallic pearl color, all the blue is a metallic dark blue, and the decepticon emblem is a metallic dark purple. I think its also bigger than the one in this video. What kind do I have?
You've got the Leader class version of this toy that was made for the US market. This smaller version is the mold Japan released, then eventually made an exclusive in the US.

The tank on the Leader version... for Primus sake _take the batteries out!_ The machine gun sound is the most obnoxious thing I've heard coming out of any Transformer I own. Also, at least the Leader has rotation below the elbow, I think. I have two of the Leader figure, sadly both Megatron, but thankfully only one tank. Also the barrel detaches on the Leader-class version of the tank, makes posing easier and disables that machine gun sound.
Mine came with a clear sword blade was it just a random which you got?

TJ why isn't the sword the clear color like the standard release? Is this a Japan figure? I missed it if you said it was or not.

I actually prefer the Voyager Galvatron/Galvatron Great (aka Megatron/Galvatron) mold to the craptastic Leader mold...like...why did Hasbro upsize it?
They needed a large-sized toy for the Leader class. In Armada they only had one mold to sell at that price point and it didn't work out, lots warming shelves, so they needed some variety.

The light gimmick never worked BECAUSE of the red led. Had it been clear, it would have been better. Not awesome, but better.
I have a Thundertron, with a red led in a blue transparent sword. Same problem.

+aonze11 Because he was already a tank in Armada and they wanted to do something different this time? Something they apparently like to do, seeing as pretty much every Megatron that has spanned multiple shows/movies gets a completely different type of vehicle if he changes altmodes.
Oh I thought there was a legal issue or something thanks.
