When I first saw this, I immediately recognised the similarities to G1 Galvatron, especially the torso. The four squares that make up the 'abdomen', the four-pointed 'crown', the 'knee caps', and the 'Y-fronts'. Clearly a lot of homage going on there.
Because he is always called Galvatron in Super Link. Shockingly, the American release of Galvatron is the most favored version of the Energon Megatron mold, besides, well, his base form.
oh my god i had a flash back of me playing with this figure (galvatron repaint) when i was younger, as soon as you showed off the tanks sounds, i remember spamming the crap out of the buttons on that thing all the time, so soon as i heard it, it brought me back to my youth, thank you :)
Never forget that this toy got the Core Class treatment, which was Scout Class back in Energon. Yeah, you get a modern version of this thing, only smaller and palm-sized.
You can insert the tank into where the sword is stored and then hit the button to release it. Also, with the tank stuck in there you can muck around with it a bit and give it a Galvatron-esque cannon emplacement look/mode.
The Japanese version was smaller, and there was a reason. Compare the Energon and Armada Megatrons. Look then at the "rebirth." The smaller version has more continuity consistency seeing as the Armada version's shoulder treads became the shoulder cannons for Energon.
Regarding the sword in the back issue - the proper way to remove it is to take the tank and push it into the sword chamber, this will lock the sword to the back of the tank
Why didn't you show how the tank can actually plug right into the sword slot on the back, and then pull the sword right out when you hold down the tab?
Hmm, guess I'm the only one who gets a Thunderwing vibe from this guy on top of Galvatron. I even used the smaller version as Thunderwings stand in until they made the generations version.
the superlink version and the pack exclusive version(the second energon version) are the same except that they are smaller, i think ultra rather than leader, and the force chip slot thinghy is for the megatron sword, botcon shattered glass megatron uses the smaller version
He's still Bad Ass Man! They did make a Galvatron version which sells for than this version. Hey, I like him! That's he's one of the most used Transformers in the Custom world. Many Customizers love his frame, and those ABS of steel. He's still winning. Love those huge Wings. In my POV he is one of the best figures ever made. Remember "My POV" you have voiced your opinion with volume. Check out Frenzy Rumble or Customs by Z and you'll be enlightened dude. A big B.A. Megatron not these lil fries.
Always wanted this toy as a kid. His body just looked so cool to me in this version and personally I think he looks way better as Megatron than he does as Galvatron. I never did understand why they called him Megatron when it started off though. He was Galvatron at the end of Armada and has the classic Galvatron crown and stomach thing when Energon begins. I guess at least the Japanese (the ONLY version of the show to watch) keeps it Galvatron from the previous series.
The toys from Transformers Armada and Energon were my childhood. I loved how the Armada Decepticons had so many projectile weapons, and they had the only vehicle modes that made sense. So my entire collection consisted of just Decepticons.
Use the tank...please use the tank to remove the sword xD. What you referred to as the "force chip" looking bit on the tank is designed to remove the sword from his back.
I have this mold and there are knee joints and mine came with some I guess energon plates that were the same color green as the cannons. whatsoever up with that?
is an excellent figure, I have it and love it, but you forgot to say that the sword can be removed by entering the tank where they keep the sword and it holds onto the tank, when you remove the tank, it comes up with this grip. is a cool gimik
I had this when I was a kid! I remember thinking this was the coolest toy in the world
He does have knee articulation
When I first saw this, I immediately recognised the similarities to G1 Galvatron, especially the torso. The four squares that make up the 'abdomen', the four-pointed 'crown', the 'knee caps', and the 'Y-fronts'. Clearly a lot of homage going on there.
Yeah. Glad Superlink correctly depicted him as Galvatron
The cannons on his shoulders also sorta look like his galvatron fusion cannon as well
Because he is always called Galvatron in Super Link.
This guy makes me so nostalgic, i grew up with this Megatron
The Beginning of Megatron's Identity crisis when it came to his vehicle modes.
Just tracked down the Galvatron repaint of this guy online and can't wait for it to get here. Decided to watch this review to help keep me pumped!
The Galvatron version is just awesome. IMO the best Galvatron we've gotten thus far.
Never forget that this toy got the Core Class treatment, which was Scout Class back in Energon. Yeah, you get a modern version of this thing, only smaller and palm-sized.
I had this as a kid, it was one of my fave figures.
My favorite Megatron EVER!
Meh its nit the best though it's meant to be more of galvatron than actually megatrkn
The clear parts look pretty cool
that's Awesome man awesome figure and awesome review
You can insert the tank into where the sword is stored and then hit the button to release it. Also, with the tank stuck in there you can muck around with it a bit and give it a Galvatron-esque cannon emplacement look/mode.
I just bought it, it's beautiful!!!
Klingon Bird of Prey. I love his jet mode.
That Megatron seems to be like a cargo transporter
First Megatron jets had come out in the late 80's as a mini (BumbleBee/Cliffjumper size). Him and his clone
This toy is amazing
i like how in superlink megatron was called galvertron from the start due to this was ment to be a continuation from armada
The Japanese version was smaller, and there was a reason. Compare the Energon and Armada Megatrons. Look then at the "rebirth." The smaller version has more continuity consistency seeing as the Armada version's shoulder treads became the shoulder cannons for Energon.
possibly you have the slightly smaller version or superlink verion?
I have this Energon Megatron. He's in storage at the moment about five hours away but I do have him.
the hole on the back of the tank is for megatrons energon sword to plug in so it can be attached in robot mode.
You certanly didn't forget anything this time around. ;)
I saw the Galvatron vies ion and I now want it.
I got this Megatron, which Megatron head is suitable for this body as I want to made a SG Megatron.
Regarding the sword in the back issue - the proper way to remove it is to take the tank and push it into the sword chamber, this will lock the sword to the back of the tank
I just got this figure today
Why didn't you show how the tank can actually plug right into the sword slot on the back, and then pull the sword right out when you hold down the tab?
Hmm, guess I'm the only one who gets a Thunderwing vibe from this guy on top of Galvatron. I even used the smaller version as Thunderwings stand in until they made the generations version.
Did you ever notice the face of the plane mode is the decepticon logo so sick
I don't see it I think ur the only one thinking it...
Megatron's knees DO bend, and you can use port in the back of his tank to remove the sword from his nosecone.
The jet is big enough to fit a small army inside, and maybe a military tank.
the superlink version and the pack exclusive version(the second energon version) are the same except that they are smaller, i think ultra rather than leader, and the force chip slot thinghy is for the megatron sword, botcon shattered glass megatron uses the smaller version
I see now. The little tanks cannon was the inspiration for fall of cybertron megatrons tank cannon.
No it wasn't....
It was g1 megatron the orginal most megatron shave th classic cannon on arm thing
Jetfire48 That is not what I meant....
for his tank the hole at the back is for a sword blade
this version of Megs laughs alot
thats were the sword suppose to go
Yeah, you got the TRU version that he mentioned.
He's still Bad Ass Man! They did make a Galvatron version which sells for than this version. Hey, I like him! That's he's one of the most used Transformers in the Custom world. The altmode is 100% Thunderwing.
I have that but
It's missing 1 cannon 1 wing gun and the tank and sword 😔
I didn't know he had a sword in the cockpit
I had this toy im just making sure you know you can draw the sword from the canopy using the tank
He has knee articulation!
he does have knee articulation
why does he remind me of Thunderwing's pretender shell?
I live near a place that sells this stuff and nothing else YAY
Sweet toy. A long way from the Machine Wars jet lol
You not need to make the sword fall you just attach the tank where the sword is stored and then remove the tank
im sure his knees bend.
that tank is supposed to have a sword in the back
in the superlink show he was always called galvatron, never megatron
I had the small version that came with delux prime
1:38 Lock S-Foils in attack possition, get ready for your trench run lol.
Since when was Megatron a xwing tank carrier
What happened to your galvatron?still have my energon megatron.:D
Megatron became galvatron in energon
Yeah... He knows.... Like everyone knows megaton becomes galvatron usually
in super mode he look like to me the x-wing
I. Am. Back.
looks like latios
lucas cheng In plane mode? Eh I can kinda see it.
or meta knights ship
Yeah, but it works even better for Galvatron because he's usually entirely psychotic.
is he really megs...coze for me he looks like galvatron whith wings...whith more white on himself
megatron looks like latios
The head looks more like Galvatron than Megatron.
Yeah because its basically supposed to be galvatron
I mean big
Wanna see some REAL similarities to Unicron? Take a look at Cybertron Megatron.
Quite decetnt review. You skipped few things I'd mention, but overall decent.
I like the takara version better.
tran s formers ? you forgot S
to bad is so F*cking expensive
My favorite Megatron (besides Megatron from G1, Beast Wars, and Armada), too bad the show was pretty bad unfortunately.
too bad the tank doesnt transform
pls gib me megatron
Oh so he did. Here's hoping that he isen't getting a touch of Alzheimer's, that would be worrying. :(
I always liked that the tank was based on his Armada V-mode, like he couldn’t get rid of it so he made it an arm cannon.
megatron riding a megatron
meman29 megatronception
Megaception
My favorite Megatron toy. So glad you mention about the sword (had the Toy'R'us one)
when you jump into "super energon" and realise it's purple dye.
Master Farr I was just talking about this megatron and how they just made him purple
Master Farr I didn't watch much energion :/
Master Farr oh
Master Farr I still don't know exactly what you mean. But okay! XD
Dark Angel Dreadnought that makes scream in pain
so for Hyper Mode, he basically becomes X-Wing fighter.
awesome review as always
I had this as a kid, it was one of my fave figures.

I guess at least the Japanese (the ONLY version of the show to watch) keeps it Galvatron from the previous series.
It’s because hasbro wanted to protect the name from getting trademark
The hole at the back of the tank is where his energon sword-thingy goes
Watch the whole video he knows lol
This figure came with green wax which I think was for megatrons sword I have this toy and also energon optimus prime as well
One of the best Megatron incarnations! Firepower for days, Bad Ass vehicle mode, and a tank for his blaster. Winning? Yes!
Actually, the Super Link Megs was a completely new mold, he wasn't even just a repaint.
I think he meant Galvatron.
This thing got so much hype on TV when it was being released.
The toys from Transformers Armada and Energon were my childhood. I loved how the Armada Decepticons had so many projectile weapons, and they had the only vehicle modes that made sense. So my entire collection consisted of just Decepticons.
soy since lol the auto bots had some alt noes that made since too
Use the tank...please use the tank to remove the sword xD. What you referred to as the "force chip" looking bit on the tank is designed to remove the sword from his back.
I have this mold and there are knee joints and mine came with some I guess energon plates that were the same color green as the cannons. whatsoever up with that?
The way Megatron was designed he was obviously ment to become Galvatron.
And are you going to do the Galvatron figure.
Chicone Studios well in superlink he was
is that the leader version or voyager version i had both but dont know what happened to either of them
To me this mold makes the best Galvatron of all.
is an excellent figure, I have it and love it, but you forgot to say that the sword can be removed by entering the tank where they keep the sword and it holds onto the tank, when you remove the tank, it comes up with this grip. is a cool gimik
This mold will alway be shattered glass megatron for me
the white blue and green makes him look like Thunderwing.
Is this the "bigger" or the "smaller" version? I thought there were two of them, one Voyager-sized and the other Ultra-sized... I may be wrong though.
He's right, the knees do have joints.
Will you be reviewing Shattered Glass Megatron to show off the downsized mold?
