All the best with it Todd - you'll be the envy of all Zephyr lovers. Will be following with interest. Cheers from Athelstone

If you ever get a chance to listen to Mick Thomas (weddings parties anything) sing his song about the Zephyr (on his TANK album) you will be in for a treat. "Zephyr is an old gallic word for a particular type of wind that is forboding of change". Good luck with the project.

Looks like a nice solid shell, i would recommend you hand strip the large flat areas , as they will probably end up warped if blasted.

Thanks mate! I did have the same concern but the media being used is very soft and seen results from previous cars getting the perfect result. I'll do a video soon showing the results :)

I only just found this video excellent. History, your grandad will be proud. it's a genuine family heirloom. Is ut a 6 or 4 cylinder?

Thanks mate, appreciate the kind words! It's a Zephyr 6, so will be keeping the original straight 6 which was the matching numbers engine!

Nothing like some sentimental value to motivate a project. Looks like it's gonna need a huge amount of work, but you've done restos before right? Not sure what ones you've done. In terms of videos, definitely keen to see any baby steps that come along for that car. Wonder if a camera can be stuck somewhere during the sandblasting. Would be super cool to see.

Thanks mate! Big project ahead and excited to learn along the way and bring this old girl back to life. I’ve done plenty of mechanical work over the years but never taken on a full restoration on a car before. I’ll do my best to capture the blasting, will keep you posted!
