  • This hungry mama raccoon has been climbing up to the top feeder recently. She got a treat tonight - Scott just put out grape jelly to attract Orioles. After the racoon's visit, he's going to need more jelly...

Wow she really liked that jelly, it’s a wonder she can move after all she consumed! Thanks for posting 3:31

      You're welcome -
Thanks for watching and commenting. Nursing mama raccoons can really put away the food. Seems they are always hungry and risk coming out during the day to get as many calories as they can. They are really good moms...

We call jelly "jam" here in the U.K 😊. And I don't think we have grape jam! Beautiful raccoon 💕

She is a beautiful raccoon. The high def cam at the top feeder really shows off her beautiful colors.
For the record (LOL) - here in the USA,
Jelly is made with strained fruit juice. There are no pieces of fruit in jelly.
Jam: Jam is made with mashed fruit.
Preserves: Preserves have whole fruit or large pieces of fruit.

@@WRCatBWHQ ahh, thank you 👍. Our jam can be strained or have fruit pieces. Jam can also be called preserve here too👍

Do Orioles ever appear close to the ground? They seem to always hang out in the top canopy, at least here...unlike our jelly-enjoying 🦝mama ❤. Great video, thanks for recording! :)

Hi Fonske - You're welcome - It's fun to make the video clips so everyone can share in the BWHQ events.
I have never seen an Oriole at the ground cam. They seem a bit skittish and probably feel safer up high. However, the Gray Catbirds that share the love of grape jelly are often spotted on the ground.
