Ha! Great:-) CAPE NELSON & GRANT: I loved watching these Tugs at work when I was young, Espes when the pushing around the Sweet looking (Mv PORTLAND) When she arrives back home from WA. Id recognize these Tugs Anywhere!. I have a Funny fealing these Where! /or Are the Current & Verry Distinctive (Twin Tractor Tugs) That Operate at the >Port of PORTLAND- in the State of Victoria- Australia. There the perfect tugs for Portland, Just 2 Of them are more than Capable of Handling the never ending Stream of the Grandest Grain Ships & Wood Pulp/ Chip/ Log Carrier Ships Even the odd Passenger ship that visit Portland... Can't wait for more Instalments of these Tugs at Work. :-) ;-) :-D .
It's amazing that z drives are even making their apearence on the river here in the US.Southern Towing has two towboats with them.I'm not sure if the added maneuverability is needed outside of landing barges & leaving the terminal, but they seem to be useful for tank barge tows.
EMD. Had those in an anchor handler I worked on in Gulf of Thailand, in the 90's. Two strokes. Terrific engine to work on. Only thing I didn't like about them... Noisey. But in a new building? Insist on good sound proofing around the engine room.
I know how you feel I just got on a call list, bottom of the call list that is for crew member on a tug boat iv only worked one night and I'm dying to get back on board but some one pretty much has to die before i ever get full time so :(
Good Work! and "She" looks like great. What´s the year of built? I´m a PORT TUG BOAT Captain of an ASD also in UY, South America, looking forward to do it out of my country, if feasible for both parts. Very nice and speciallized job.
I wish these guys would see a nutritionist and put together a plan to drop 75 pounds or so. It would give them a better chance to recover from their impending heart attack or stint operation. Just saying.

Update ?
Amazing
must have been a light day, there was still some daylight left when they tied up to the pier.
What's the job outlook, current and future, for tugboat crews and captains?
NICE WORK
BRAVO ! ! ! ! ! !
Coincidentally, gloves ordered last week

This tug is getting into what I'd call "middle aged" for a working vessel. 22 years old and a lot of good years left to go.
👍👍👍
please no sound to the video.
how old are those tractors? and what engines?
rad.
I guess I am the weird one here I would like to know the name of the song and the album name
Above the clouds - Medwyn Goodall.
It was a selection from RUclipss offerings
Do you have Z drives on your tug? Great choice of music by the way.
Nice video, crappy music :)
Thnx for sharing

75lbs? Are you nuts? that's a huge amount. You would be hard pushed to lose that amount in under 2-3 years if then..
