same, when did this newer version even come out? I had a friend back in the day who had that album, and I wanted a copy of my own, so my dad ended up buying me one, but I hadn't heard her's enough to realize those 2 tracks were different until she came to my house, listened to mine, and said it sounded different.
right? I knew it existed, since a friend of mine had it back in the day, but it seemed to be a rare gem that you can't find anymore, so that made me wonder what the deal was behind that, since you can't find it anywhere now.
I know right. This was the version that was on the original release of "Stone Cold Rhymin". That other version was on a 12" Single b/w Know How. Love this version. It contains a sample from "The Dude" by Quincy Jones.
This is the version I remember! When I heard the CD version I was taken aback! So glad I found this, but I wish the other version didn't even exist! They need to make this available for download and on Spotify!
This is so nostalgic... this was one of my favorite songs growing up and it always reminded me of my uncle who I grew up real close with. Makes me really feel at home
Wow, I was diggin on a youtube crates to find this version remembered i heard this on cassette back in 89 while i was 11 years of age and started to djing, and Im glad it exist! Thanks for the upload!
This is the version that was on my CD. That other version is garbage. It doesn't flow from "Fastest Rhyme" into "My name is Young" as well. In this version, the transition is perfect.
@@clintonkeener4610 Here's what I remember. I got the CD when it first came out. A buddy of mine got it a couple of years later, and his had the new crappy version of this song. Maybe I was just super lucky and got an early version that didn't have the crappy track. No clue. it's been 20+ years since I last saw that CD. I have a case of CDs somewhere in the house, but I have no idea where. The whole point of youtubing it was so I didn't have to go dig the CDs out. It is unfortunate that their default playlists have the shitty version of this song.
My cassette had this version but the CD has a piano intro and different beat... I do like this mellowed out version best, but no qualms with the other version
I’m so glad this exists. I love this version so much better than the CD version
Me too. So much better.

💯....Can't stand the CD version
The best version!
I was beginning to think I was crazy and this version didn't exist. Thanks for validating my sanity.

yes they do, I'm surprised with the extended album version that's available now, that this version isn't part of it.

THANKS FOR POSTING. LIKE THIS VERSION MUCH BETTER.
I’m too lazy to bust out my tapes. 👊🏼😂👍🏼 Thank you.
This version is a little bit more better cause it had that in the house kicking back beat.

What CD version did you have? I can only find this version on the tape. I would love to have a CD with this version on it.

I'm really surprised the newer album versions didn't offer both versions of this track.
I have the cassette, and this is not the song on there !

I like the dance mix more
