Bastardized version of the offense. Glenn "Tiger" Ellison emphasized that the run was no better than the pass. Ellison's run-and-shoot utilized traps, counters, and draws. Davis' running game consisted of t draw play up the middle. C'mon.

I LOVE THE RUN AND SHOOT OFFENSE. IT'S FUN TO WATCH BUT I DON'T BELIEVE THAT A TEAM CAN WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP WITH IT. YOU STILL HAVE TO RUN THE FOOTBALL AND HAVE BALANCE. IT ALSO WOULDN'T HURT TO HAVE A GOOD DEFENSE. HAWAII AND TEAMS THE HAVE THE RUN AND SHOOT HAS NEVER BEEN KNOWN TO HAVE GOOD DEFENSES.
