as an aussie, i like to see americans over here exploring our large land. Glad you had fun. Some trivia, our coat of arms has the emu and kangaroo on it, both animals cant walk backwards, and we also eat them. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed Australia although just a gentle reminder that Koalas aren't actually bears but marsupials. Don't worry, a lot of people mistake them for bears.
*The Absolute Biggest highlight of my existence is watching you both! You two mean so much to me and I am absolutely glad that you were fortunate enough to cuddle a koala while in Australia! I have never cuddled one previously so can only imagine how adorable it would have been! Next time you come to Australia (and visit Cairns) you need to bring Branden, Mindy, and the children with you as they would absolutely love it too! ~ Peter in Cairns, Queensland, Australia* ❤️🇦🇺
Magpies are nice birds that have the brain of a T. rex during nesting season. The only things that are bad in Australia are crocs snakes spiders scorpions dingos sharks and jelly fish. ...and bull ants plus a few other things...
I'm from Australia an i have had the experience of holding a kola and is the most unreal feel it's definitely something worth travelling for the are sooo soo soft and cuddly
Jared and Britney and family the hike is absolutely video wall the air B IN B Is amazing from what I have saw Of it it's absolutely beautiful how do you guys in joy your trip the safe and God was you all
South east Qld is only sub tropical rainforest, not the full experience of the tropical rainforests you get from Cairns up to Cape Tribulation (which is amazing in winter but steamy in summer).
Oh oops I forgot to mention to you about our "killer birds" . It's that time of the year they come out swoop at people. Glad you all had a wonderful time in Australia.
Im so jealous! I want to cry my favorite animal since I was little is a Koala. My dream is to cuddle a koala and go to Australia. im crazy obesssed with them
I'm from Australia an i have had the experience of holding a kola and is the most unreal feel it's definitely something worth travelling for the are sooo soo soft and cuddl
I'm glad you got to experience that. It was so awesome. Koala bears are my favorite animal and to see that through you, was an emotional experience. I actually had tears in my eyes. The kangaroos were cool too.
Yeah, the magpies will swoop for food, you did the right thing by moving indoors; they can get aggressive. The wallaby would have been better behaved if you'd sat down next to it, you may have even scored a cuddle. Roos are more aloof, though having said that; I was "kissed" by a roo when I were a little kid about 8 or 9 years old. My family had gone camping along the Murray River, at Hattah/Kulkine National Park (it was an Easter thing we did each year) about 40 years ago. It was too hot to sleep in the caravan, so we dragged our mats outside for the night. Dad told us about various stars and constellations, even an aboriginal story about the Seven Sisters (Pleiades), (we weren't taught much about aboriginal culture in school). Then a ruckus started up in the trees above us - it really sounded like pigs grunting and squealing. Dad told us it was a Koala "couple" having a domestic - she just wasn't in the mood. It went on for a couple of hours until around 11-30, when Dad deliberately started his car and fiddled with the "choke" (?!?) to make it backfire - everything was quiet after that! Anyway, we were sleeping outside. Morning came; the sun hadn't reached our area yet, and I hadn't started moving or even opened my eyes yet, but I could see paleness through my closed eyelids - I was just enjoying listening to all the birds singing. I heard a very slight rustle, then a minute later, I felt a tickle on my cheek that continued on to become a lick from a warm, wet tongue! Then I heard more rustling, so I opened my eyes just in time to see the rear end of a kangaroo moving slowly away from me - I guessed it was bigger than me at the time, but I was a bit of a runt as a kid, so now I'm thinking it was probably a very young adult eastern grey kangaroo. It had been licking the dew off my face! Nobody else was awake, not even Mum (early riser). I saw seven or eight more roos pass by us, they saw that I was awake, but I just stayed in my bed so they weren't concerned. I think that was also the time Dad tied up some low branches in a plastic bag to collect water - we all had a couple of mouthfuls, it tasted just fine (don't drink water from the Murray River, it's too muddy). A couple of years ago I mentioned this story to Brandon (en/on?) Bingham (TIHWB) when he'd said they'd not done much camping. I wonder if he remembers that; he responded in the comments! I'll stop rambling now, I hope you continue to have a fantastic holiday, love from Victoria!
Look out for those magpies! They swoop and attack. Keep your face and eyes covered if they get too close like that. They can do a fair bit of damage. Lucky they were only after the food though 😄 Koalas are super cute 🥰
Enjoyed watching this! A Mom of a friend of mine and her husband go to Australia almost every year I think and she has held a Koala several times and she even wore a Koala head as part of her costume for Halloween this year.
That was a magpie that was going for your food. I’ve only ever seen them swoop down from trees at people during their hatching season. Never seen them do it for food, it’s normally seagulls that steal food here 😂
LOL @ killer birds! The birds have no fear here, i was having lunch with some friends last week in Sydney and a bird flew into the restaurant, stole a whole steak off my friends plate and flew off.
Happy Monday Jared, Britt & Finley!!! I gotta know. What was the fur like on the Wallaby & Keeta? Soft, rough? They both looked like they had a thick coat. Beautiful park area you went to!!!
Oh no hahaha the Magpie would have had a baby in the tree that’s why it was flying at you. Eeek it’s an Aussie thing that happens in spring.. google it 😬
Loved watching these of Australia but my heart is breaking watching the zoo animals because I know right now these beautiful animals are burning to death. Praying they get the fires out.
Oh my goodness. That was a magpie that attacked you, welcome to the real Australia lol. They’re worse during mating season. My kids have to ride to school with things sticking out of their helmets so they don’t get attack
Hats off to the many volunteers putting themselves in danger to rescue these beautiful animals from the fire areas. Bless you all. ❤️🐨🦘
Ahh the good old Magpie, he was hungry

Brittany You are a natural with the Koala!! So precious
This had been an amazing trip. The animals you said were hyenas are actually African Painted Dogs. Amazing and magical creatures!
Cassandra Di Mauro yes! We learned that after :)
Awe Jared was protecting you Brit
I'm glad you enjoyed Australia although just a gentle reminder that Koalas aren't actually bears but marsupials. Don't worry, a lot of people mistake them for bears.

The animal refuge was so cool! Loved how y’all reacted to some of them, lol 🤣
Britt running away from a sweet wallaby might be the funniest thing I’ve seen all week.

As usual I'm enjoying 'our' trip!!!! Thanks for taking us. :)
You guys were hilarious at the zoo. So very glad you got to experience holding a koala while you were here.

I want to go to Australia so bad!!!!😍

I LOVE BUDERIM!!♥️
LOL @ killer birds! The birds have no fear here, i was having lunch with some friends last week in Sydney and a bird flew into the restaurant, stole a whole steak off my friends plate and flew off.
It's a lot easier to feed them when you attach the food to your bull bar. 🤗
LOL magpies are definitely more dangerous than kangaroos or wallabies :) you should checkout videos of magpies swooping people during nesting season.
Holding a koala is my ultimate dream! I did a report on them in 4th grade and ever since I wanted to hold one!
😂😂😂 wolf, African wild Dog... same diff
Happy Monday Jared, Britt & Finley!!!
I gotta know. What was the fur like on the Wallaby & Keeta? Soft, rough? They both looked like they had a thick coat.
Beautiful park area you went to!!!
You should off went to Australia zoo it’s awesome
getting attacked by a magpie, now you're a true aussie LOL
Oh no hahaha the Magpie would have had a baby in the tree that’s why it was flying at you. Eeek it’s an Aussie thing that happens in spring.. google it 😬
*If you do not mind me asking, what was the name of the accommodation that Britt's parents stayed in while they were in Cairns last month?*
They are so cute and sweet. Makes me soo sad to know hundreds burned to death in the fires 😭😭😭
This zoo is in the town I live and I haven't been there lol
Loved watching these of Australia but my heart is breaking watching the zoo animals because I know right now these beautiful animals are burning to death. Praying they get the fires out.
Possibly the reason the kangaroo didn't eat your food, it has probably had many people come through before you so it's had enough.
Was he soft?
That was so cool but I noticed you held the koala but didn't pet it, is that something they recommend you not do??
Koala
Oh my goodness. That was a magpie that attacked you, welcome to the real Australia lol. They’re worse during mating season. My kids have to ride to school with things sticking out of their helmets so they don’t get attack
They're not hyenas they're African wild dogs. They weren't killer birds they were dreaded Magpies.
Not hyenas, they were African wild dogs
birds do attack in Australia my cousin"s wife is from there and does not like birds
