    I had the privilege of seeing this film in an older type movie theatre on "Bad movie Night". Once a month on a Thursday this theater would play a B movie, it was great and the audiences reactions and laughter and quick witted comments made it all that much more fun. Before the movie started the theater would play old 70's and 80's commercials that were cheesy as hell and a few old educational public broadcast clips that were just ridiculous for today's standards. It was a blast! Funny part is is that the theater didn't promote what movie was playing that night but rendered a poster with a picture of a cut off pair of jean shorts blowing away in the wind as a clue of what movie it was. After watching the film I understood the poster. This is truly a movie that's so bad it's good.

    Hip firing rifles was a common technique used by special forces, i think, during vietnam war. They were training target shooting from the hip and they needed to have a good score. It was about reaction time when ambushed in the jungle. Returning accurate fire without beening constantly on high-ready. That might have influenced 80's action movies.

    • @JasonBrant
      @JasonBrant  3 года назад +3

      Really?

    • @migo5205
      @migo5205 3 года назад +1

      @@JasonBrant Hip firing was part of the training. How much it really influenced movies would be part of further research. Some movies might have been influenced by that (by advisors, crew or cast) and other producers/directors just copied that. Classic WW2 movies had lots of hip fire, too. Please dont take my posts for the definite truth, rather ideas for own research 😉

    • @mojojojo6400

      @@migo5205 yea, they would spray the jungle with led that way you hit anything and everything that you can since you couldn't exactly see where your enemy is in the jungle. Especially at night.

    • @migo5205
      @migo5205 3 года назад +1

      @@mojojojo6400 they would not spray the jungle. Its just for the moment of contact. You dont carry your gun on high ready all the time. In case of an ambush you try to immidiately response fire to pin down the enemy so the team can go into postion. By then you had your gun up. Combat reports say, in an ambush at close range the first seconds decided everything.

    • @Ammeeeeeeer
      @Ammeeeeeeer 2 года назад +4

      Hip firing is done in movies because most actors and action stars suck at using guns, plus hip firing means their faces are visible, the most important factor of all. Its why heroes never wear helmets or keep taking them off after a few minutes (see also superheroes who keep taking off their masks in the middle of fights). I doubt it has to do with any actual military training, though American soldiers hip firing explains alot about the Vietnam War 🤣

    You fellas are great! Almost cracked a rib laughing so hard on this video. Joined in the first time this evening. After watching your review on Deadly Prey, it reminded me of Strike Commando, made in 1986.

    Has no one mentioned that a sequel was made to this in 2013 called Deadliest Prey with the same two actors that survived this movie and the same director? It takes place 30 years after the first movie with the colonel being released from prison and he immediately goes after Danton to hunt him down again.

    This might be the best So Bad, It's Good movie ever made! Definitely not boring! This had more asses kicked than every Steven Seagull movie ever made! Reminds me a little of the old movie A Dozen Ways to Die except even more violent! Good one!
