I like how in the genealogy of Jesus in the NT, Matthew makes it a point to call Bathsheba the “wife of Uriah.” You know they held King David in high regard in Jewish culture, but they never wanted to make excuses for him, and really never let him live it down
I just finished listening to your videos in 1 Samuel and you’re giving the same dates for David as you did for Saul. Do you change that in later videos? (I was listening to your lessons on 2 Samuel and decided to listen to your lessons on 1 Samuel before continuing with 2 Samuel.)
Hi, Yes, I'm currently working to change the 1 Samuel files. I believe I got the dates wrong for Saul. I think Saul reigned from approximately 1095-1055 B.C. and David reigned from 1055-1015 B.C... Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully that clarifies things. I'm hoping to have the updated files up ASAP.
@@2BeLikeChrist I didn’t mean to be critical. But you work hard to have the map and dates clear for your students, so I was wondering if you were aware if it. I hope it’s not a super-monumental chore for you to do. I’m a retired teacher and can appreciate the huge amount if work that goes into each lesson you present. And, BTW, you’re doing a great job! It’s such a wonderful way to go through these books without having to toil over keeping up with the story. Plus, I learn better by listening, which I know is a bad excuse for not reading it straight from Scriptures. But I actually did one time, and your lectures made it come alive. So I really love learning this way. It’s straight and to the point. I do listen to other lectures on the Bible, but you are offering thumbnails that give us a starting point from which to try to have a solid foundation. Thank you for all you do!
2 Samuel 12:11-12. Why did God have David’s wives graped? Why are the wives being punished for a sin they did not commit? That is not loving. That is not justice.
Oh let's go 2 Samuel 12 may the Lord bless you all ✝️❤️🔥
