Honestly, it pisses me off when people try to measure audio in frames per second. Are you kidding me? Audio is a continuous, dynamic medium that cannot be broken down into frames like a damn video game. It's insulting to the complexity and beauty of sound to reduce it to some arbitrary FPS metric. Audio waves are constantly changing in amplitude and frequency, creating a rich and nuanced experience for the listener. To try and quantify that in terms of frames is just plain ignorant. And don't even get me started on the fact that audio engineers have to deal with this crap all the time, trying to explain to people why they can't just set the audio FPS to match the video FPS. It's a completely different beast, people! So let's show some respect for the art and science of audio and stop trying to shoehorn it into some lame video game metric.

I love having 60 fps gameplay on screen with a camera in the corner that's 24 fps. Just like the movies
For games, there's a lot of things happening and you'd want to see as much as you can, but for the camera, it's usually mostly still so you don't need to see so many updated frames.
Before you say anything regarding movies, 24 fps is chosen as an artistic direction and the motion blur looks natural to the human eye. 60 fps ruins that and you do lose the natural motion blur

I actually really like 50fps after watching some 50fps stuff. The difference in data between 60 and 50 isn't worth the extra data at all. Frame rate standards are the 1 good British invention
@@unlisted9494 unfortunately, when I’m watching an American show on a British streaming platform, like Rick and Morty, all the voices are slightly higher pitch because UK and US stream at different hz and it causes the audio on UK streaming platform to sound higher pitch, it’s annoying.

@@MrPlayDay that's interesting. I bet you can get a workaround for that. Find an acoustics forum and see if they have an audio codec that lets you move the output of your sound chip down octaves. Sound engineering might seem simple but it's witchcraft and requires an extreme understanding of physics to modulate it up and down like that, but I feel like software should be able to, in realtime, apply a phase rotation up or down to the audio signal based on perceived frequency and target sample rate. Screenshot this and some with autism and some free time will make one, surely.

Tbh I prefer 60 FPS for things like camera or gaming vids, cut scenes and other videos. and yeah it could look kinda weird in movies. I would prolly prefer maybe like 48 FPS or so in movies instead of like 24 fps

I do 3D animation, and the "standard" fps setting that we use is 24 fps. Don't ask me why but 24fps seems to be the happy medium when it comes to rendering out animations so maybe the juicer is smarter than we think
yea facts, he knows. even in editing normal videos the default output is 24
yeah because otherwise it wouldn't feel natural. 24 fps is the minimum for us to actually perceive something as a movement. the blur is also more present than when it's 60 fps. if you show 100 people a movie that's shot in 60 fps or more, they will all tell you that something feels off and perhaps even fake. 60 fps is too smooth for a recording of a human. games are okay, because they're artificial. then it's good if it's higher than 24.

It's not all about the fps. There's a reason why 24 fps became the standard in the movie industry, but that's another matter. In fact, the Twitch stream was in 60 fps, the same as this RUclips clip. The thing to focus instead is the motion blur and how the camera records. To produce motion blur that's similar to what we see in real life, camera's shutter speed is set to 1/(~2xFPS) of a second. I believe his camera was set with shutter speed (SS) of 1/50 sec all the time. When he used 24 fps with SS of 1/50 sec, the motion looks normal (for people with healthy eyes and brain at least). Then he switched to 60 fps, but leave the shutter speed as the same. This minimizes the motion blur and it will looks off. To produce similar motion blur as before, he must also set the shutter speed to maybe 1/120s.
the higher the speed, the lessed motion blur. 1/50 = more motion blur than 1/120

Fun fact basically every movie and major tv show in history film at 24 FPS. Gemini Man with Will Smith was filmed at 120 and basically everyone hated it the look of it. It also made a lot of people uncontrollably nauseous at the theaters.
