Great demo! Just ordered one from andertons, had a gio before and been surprised at how great it was for the price and how well it held up over time and different tunings but wanted a newer model and something for lower tunings, also love the reverse headstock Can't wait
1 thing i did notice about this guitar is that the tuners are positioned in a way that makes the bass side strings very long, unlike most guitars. Do you find this string length increase is better for drop lower tunings like D standard or drop C or B? Also does it make bending/vibrato easier or harder on certain strings? And awesome playing btw :)
I am definitely gonna pick one of these up. The only thing I’m going to change are likely to pickups, and I’m going to make it so that position three splits the inside coils together (strat quack) and position four splits the outside coils together (tele sound w/both pickups on).
Got mine a few months ago. Definitely pretty cool guitar. It’s got a few things I don’t like. The bridges grub screws are really long. I mean so much so, that the way I have mine set up with the action super low, the grub screws kinda dig into your hand a bit. It’s not a big deal just annoying. Also the bridge needs to be sanded a little on the back where the ground wire touches the bridge. It causes for more feedback because it’s not properly grounded. If you remove the pick guard, you’ll notice no shielding paint or copper tape whatsoever. That also causes more unwanted noise when plugged in. I also replaced my tuning keys with locking gotoh tuners. Makes string changes way easier. All in all I’d probably just have picked up a Harley benton, which I did and am waiting on lol.
You've done a great job there dude. You may have been better optin for an RG standard or even an iron label but you have worked around ypu issues like a boss. HB guitars seem to do really well but I have had a few student have simular issues as well. Look of rhe draw? 🤘🧟♂️🤘
just got this guitar last week.. totally was to be a home practice guitar but I'm blown away by it. Color was a big influence, but I'm thinking this may even get some live songs too. Ya never know.. Ibanez never fails to keep upping the guitars.. Great Video!!!
@@Azra-cg9fn you can't go wrong with Laney dude, see what you can puck up on ebay a Laney IRT is a monster dude. As for pedals, the behringer are cheap and sound great. 👌

@@PaulGlover I need your advice on the pickups these guitars have. They are different. I cannot find information on the pickups. More precisely, their difference.
I’m getting one for sure. I’m no budding metal head. I’ve been playing for 23 years, but this guitar seems too good to pass up. Besides, I’m looking to retire my Dean Stealth. I’ve literally had people at shows tell me to wait til I’m not looking and it’s theirs😂 like no. No it’s not😂 I figure I’d use the grgr for shows. drop some schaller locking tuners and a dimebucker in the bridge and call it a job well done.
ibanez gio grgr131ex , Grg221PA or Grg121dx can you please give me an honest review. Coz I’m looking for heavy metal sounds and rock sounds. Thanks would be grateful man

jesus I'd buy this in 7 string format in a heart beat if it ever come into existence...or maybe alrdy is an I'm just unaware! wouldn't even mind the 25.5 in scale that I'd bet would be on a 7 string model of this guitar. man I wish they'd bring back the plain n simple RGD7421 they produced for a bit there in the early 2010s I believe it was. almost every one I found up for sale are coming outta Japan, so tack another 200 to 300 for import n customs and your "this may be a good deal butterflies" are immediately fucking molested out of reach....fir me at least lol. sic ass guitar though. first guitar I taught myself on was my buddy's purple gio RG back in 2000/2001 and my sons first guitar will def be an ibanez. cheers dudes! stay safe n healthy!
This guitar looks more expensive than it actually is.
Holy crap, for a gio this thing kicks ass! My son wants to start playing the guitar so looks like Christmas is coming 12 months early for him lol.

I don't think it matters much, because what makes it different is scale length not the length of the string from the nut to the tuners.

First time on your Channel great demo! I've subscribed. That bridge pickup has a lot of chunk. I'm going to buy one exclusively for low tunings.
Welcome to the horde buddy, sounds interesting. Let us know how you get on dude. 🤟🧟♂️🤟

hey amazing video! would u recommend me to buy the grg131dx or grgr131ex

@@PaulGlover thanks!
Get a cheap set of iron gear pickups some cheap brass saddles and some some cheap locking tuners and you'd be absolutely good to go with one of these!
What makes this guitar designed for metal music ?
Got way too many guitars but on watching this I thought why not so ordered one🔥🤘
Hahahahhaha mate i know right lol, well done man. Boss axe 🤟🧟♂️🤟
Same now do I need a seventeenth guitar?? Mmm 🤔
Great video mate.
Where do you reckon is the best place to order one from in the UK?
Cant go wrong with Andertons man 🤟🧟♂️🤟
What gear are you using with this? im thinking about buying this as my first guitar
I'm torn it's this one or the rgr221paaqb in your opinion witch one is more versatile
I prefer the GRG131EX as that reverse headstock is just not for me. Which would you say is better sub 230 USD this or the Jackson JS 22 DKA?
Havent had a play on the Jackson but i can vouch for this guitar, its punching well above its weight. 🤟🧟♂️🤟
are there any hard cases this will fit into like a glove?
The premium hard cases from ibanez are brill and fit these feckers like a G love man. 🤟🧟♂️🤟
